Is no one gonna mention the fact that OP's pic has an VZ58, not AK??
>>
>>58276288
Need to post the alignment chart. Vz58 honorary while Galil is not. Valmet can stay.
>>
>>58276206
Unless you can get one ass cheap. No. They're ""usable"". But still have way too many hiccups especially at the GF5s price point to be even remotely excusable.

I've gotten some good time behind a GF3 that belongs to a friend and everything is a significant downgrade to my Zpap. Everything feels cheaper, worse trigger, and epic PSA QC caveats come with it too ,his for example have a improperly threaded front sight, so the post will just walk up and down with recoil.

GF5s are priced at the same point KUSA or ZPaps are. Which is a joke for the potential QC drop off, PSA has earned it's sussy reputation
>>
Where can I find 10 round aluminum vz-58 mags?
>>
>>58276371
Or i forgot to mention, just spend a little more on a WBP Fox.
I Do recommend Zpaps though, mines been great. 5500+ rounds in and the only malfunction was a bad round of wolf didn't fire once, despite plent of pokey from the firing pin. Heavier , but fun gun, great stock trigger. Mounting on Yugos is common now so the mounts and aftermarket parts are just as plentiful to do most anything you can do with other AKs you can do on yugos

Probably not and when they are gone there will be a scramble for them and prices will jump. Just like the 104ur's.

yeah it's real nice so far even though i haven't shot it. Furniture is nice. He sold it to me with 4 clear AC Unity mags as well, and i was surprised to see that they at least had reinforced lugs. I had already bought an old surplus Yugo grip for it in advance since i knew i was getting one regardless, but i just got lucky meeting up with him and only paying 700 dollars for a hardly used rifle.
I will say though, MAG COMPATIBILITY has been a bitch already because the Zastava poly mag it came with doesn't even hardly fit, but i think the rear lug just needs a little filing. The cheaper AC Unity mags seem to fit better but they lock up pretty tight as well. I also had gotten a different AC Unity mag in preparation for the rifle and that one is probably the tightest of them all. I have to fucking jam the mag release lever down with both hands to get it out. All of these seem to just be because of the rear lug. How are the steel ones from Zastava? I was gonna get a couple of them.
>>
>>58278467
prices of everything will jump up. I know for a fact faggots will try selling the mini beryls for like 4000 dollars in 3 years and i would just hope that goobers out there wouldn't go for it.
>>
>>58278594
AC Unity and a circle 10s both work fine in mine. FB Radom mags are a little tight. None of that matters though because steel Zastava mags are the best and I don’t even bother using anything else in the M90.
>>

>least expensive 5.45x39 on ammoseek is $0.70/rd

It's really over bros, isn't it?
>>
does anyone know if the beryl 5.56 will accept and retain a cleaning rod? i see the indent for it on the bayonet lug but i'm wondering if it would be too loose since the import beryls lack the accessory lug
>>
>>58279535
They were never made to have the cleaning rod on the rifle. It’s a two piece cleaning rod that’s stored in the mag pouch or somewhere else on the soldiers’s kit.

Chrome line is used for corrosion resistance but a modern nitride treated barrel is far superior

Why don’t more people rattle can their AK’s? I understand that you wouldn’t want to paint an actual antique/rare import but if you have a non-rare AK with no wooden furniture why not go for it?

>>

Same with my 104FR, although at some point I want to get it park'ed and finished in Russianpaint, same with my other 74 to match. Just gotta decide if I want the 104FR rebuilt on a recreator or childers because Arsenal/Kvar/etc is run by a Jewy Armenian that is actively malicious towards their employees and their customers.
>>
>>58281808
park and paint is the way. don't get me started on kvar, will never give them my business again. anyone know if a regular free-float firing pin will work in the arsenal bolts with spring-loaded firing pins? i need extras but the spring-loaded pins seem to be out of production

>>
>>58285247
No recently someone posted something about battlefield vegas being mad that they spent money on MR556s and they don't last very long on full auto. A couple threads back when they were posting all the pics of the broken AR bolts from battlefieldvegas
>>
>>58285263
MR556s are slightly different, civilian versions of H&K416s. Hk416s are hugely overgassed by nature and consequently beat themselves to death. The piston system in them is beneficial if you need to do maritime warfare, but they shoot themselves to pieces in the long run. DI guns are superior in almost situations.
>>
>>58285646
>The piston system in them is beneficial if you need to do maritime warfare
can you explain why? I believe you I just want to learn
>>
>>58285247
>>58285263
This one
>>
>>58285663
Sure, I'm no expert but my understanding is that if you're popping out of water with a DI rifle to take a shot immediately, then pressure will build up in the gas tube that is filled with water and the gun will explode. The same thing doesn't happen with piston designs. I remember a story about bank robbers filling a safe with water and using dynamite to blow it open because of the insane pressure explosions of any degree generate in a liquid.

Never going to happen. The Russia ammo ban was before the war started. If you think that a Republican would reverse the policy you’re dreaming.
>>
>>58294390
That's primarily my concern. I trust the USPS about as far as I can throw them.
>>
>>58294525
It could happen *if* Putin is deposed and replaced by a pro-Western leader and pay a bunch of reparations to Ukraine. It's not likely though. More likely Russia will be forcefully demilitarized like Germany was after WW2.
Note - I don't care one way or the other about Russia but they were the aggressor so if any punishment lasts after the war then they'd naturally be the recipient.
>>
How difficult is to convert a bulgarian 74 kit to fire 5.56? Besides a new barrel and new bullet guide
>>
>>58294566
Absolutely not. Not unless an outrageously pro gun person is elected - which won't happen. Even then it will be likely blocked by the antis in congress and senate. They didn't ban the ammo because of Russia, they banned it because of us.
>>
>>58294598
I know they did, it was never because of the literal who journo who got poisoned.
Yeah you're right though. The best example of this would be the ban on Chinese rifle, pistol, and ammunition imports. It was enacted back in what...1990? Does anyone alive today even remember why? Besides us in the AK community of course.
>>
>>58276140
That faggots barrel is plugged with fucking ice
>>
>>58294598
Yeah it was a low hanging fruit. A country that government and most of the public is hostile towards happened to export the largest amount of ammo to the US civilian market. They banned the importation knowing that nobody would give a rat’s ass except gun owners. Reversing the ban would be seen as a pro-Russia policy which no politician would do because there would be so much backlash. I personally don’t care about Russia or Ukraine and just want low ammo prices. Part of my job is to navigate all the sanctions and legally continue business in Russia. Western companies are happy to quietly keep selling products there.

I'm hoping domestic or non-Russian 7.62x39 production picks back up. I don't give a shit about 5.54
>>
>>58294870
7.62x39 will be fine in the long run. It’s produced in a lot of countries. All the usual suspects plus two separate Turkish manufacturers are now producing steel case.
>>
>>58294870
I give a shit about 5.45 anon.
I need to get like...2 tins of it. That's probably all I'll ever shoot over the lifetime of owning my only 74. It's not my main rifle so I'm not hurting for it like I would be if 5.56 were in the same position
>>
>>58294960
If that’s all you need don’t wait around for prices to increase more. Grab a couple tins. Despite the price of commercial 5.45 on ammoseek, 7n6 is more reasonably priced. I’ve been picking it up from private sellers for 25-40 cpr for the past year.
>>
>>58295101
Yeah I see the prices for 7n6 rapidly climbing, I just know there are boomers with pallets of it though. But you're right. Nows the time.

>>
>>58298057
it's not normal, but it is for a PSA since they have garbage QC
send it back and make them fix it
>>
>>58299687
This is technically true, yeah, otherwise Yugo Handguards, Stocks and Side Rails are unique to Yugos. But much cheaper better options exist If money isn't an issue and you want it for the memes have at it. It's milsurp so you could get funky glass and something that won't zero/hold zero for the price of LPVOs sometimes. Unless you find it dirt cheap or got scammed with a fake airsoft one

Luckily there are plenty of good options now for modern optics. RS Regulate is the king of modularity and upper and lower options, and Zastava has their own proprietary Pic rail optic mount. RS will you get you the lowest possible sight mounting however the Zastava mount is still really good. I have and use both.

>>
>>58299433
Without the correct modifications they're relegated to range toys.
The "correct modifications" are expensive and time consuming. You need to unfuck the rear trunnion (that is welded in btw), unfuck the muzzle device, then get a good boy tax stamp for a stock.
Finally, even with the correct modifications, they're shooting 5.56 out of a...8.5"? barrel, so it's shit for ballistics.

Honestly if it had a 10.3" or 11.5" barrel it would be 100% better. Not without issues but massively better.

What if you just weld a barrel extension to make the barrel 16" and the bullpup it?

The "final ruling" thing says that the pistol barrel must be 'replaced' with a 16" barrel but all other rulings say you can convert a pistol to a rifle with no paperwork

You're on the right track but what I meant was that they're almost identical except for the illumination. In this picture, the middle scope is the LPS and the top and bottom are PSO variants. You can see the battery compartments on them as well. I believe the LPS has a tritium insert in lieu of the LED bulb but as you know tritium has a shelf life.

There are a ton of different reticles though, heres a link if you're interested in seeing the differences. The page is in Russian but Chrome's built in translator does fine.

Are these safe to shoot? I was testing a 30 round mag in an zpap m90 that I had been fucking around with to get it to feed correctly. I ran 30 rounds through it by racking the charging handle over and over until it was dry, to see if it would have any issues (can't get to a range atm). The mag fed fine, but the rounds have dents in them at the base of where it starts to form the neck. Are these safe to shoot?

stamped uf stocks have no place on a 1970's romanian lol. Here's my wasr 10/63 on a 1970 stamped md65 parts kit. All of the parts are serial matching to the bolt besides the safety (which was replaced with a semi auto only safety). Those old romanian md63's and md65's are fucking great guns. I have flipped over 10k rounds in this feller about 3 or 4 months ago. You literally couldn't go wrong buying a well made build. It looks like he has a loose grip.

Any semi auto firearm, from AK to pistol to any semi auto, can be bump fired.

Use your offhand that grips the stock, and pull the gun forward against your finger. It will recoil and as long as you keep pulling forward, it will keep firing. Sometimes even faster than full auto.

Ignore the three non-AK guns, didn't have a pic with just the AKs. From top to bottom, left to right, Century AK63DS kit build (one of their few that doesn't suck chode, has Hungarian trunnion and BCG), Riley RAK47 (again, forged trunnion and BCG), and a KUSA KP9 with an early serial (before QC issues)
>>
>>58319597
Should mention, the factory grip on the Riley was a black poly, replaced with Romanian bakelite. The factory wood was nice, but they fitted the stock flush to the receiver instead of leaving a gap, causing it to crack, so I replaced with Polish wood from WBP.
>>
>>58319597

The top three could benefit from optics, and each one can load SLAP or AP for body armor.

Consider laser sights as well as high capacity magazines with bipods. None of these things are necessary, but they make your weapons more effective. IR lasers can only be seen with NVG, even cheap ones with cheap goggles.

why did jannies delete my pic
>>
>>58319633

With a high capacity magazine, optics, and bipod, it is an improvised light machine gun.

With a variable scope and a suppressor, it is a precision rifle, which can even accept a thermal clip-on for night vision. You can just use moonlight or natural night vision if you have a thermal scope.

If you do not have NVG, to move in the cover of night under the full shine of the moon is a form of tactical cover.
>>
>>58319633
Hungarian one has no optic rail, and I'm keeping that one as a purely historic piece, since I love the Hungarian aesthetic. Mosin is an original '41 Izhevsk, so I'm leaving her as-is/ The Riley I'm looking into getting a Kobra red dot, or some similar AK side mounting one. Ideally one that would give me a cowitness for the irons, should the batteries die, but those are harder to find. I do plan on eventually getting another AK to zenitfuck fully, but not for a bit.

>>
Last weekend I shot in a pretty big AK match. There were something like 140 competitors. I'd say that the most popular pattern of AKs were Yugo and PSA, mostly in 7.62.

In my squad there were two ZPAP 92s (including mine and my brother's), a couple of ZPAP 5.56 guns, at least 5 PSAKs, a couple of Galil Aces, and iirc a SAM7. There were a couple of other AKs that I didn't take a close look at. The only gun that choked was the 5.45 Galil Ace, and it was shaving metal off of the casings. Admittedly, IWI is apparently resolving the problem.

LARP matches are tons of fun and even a cheaper AK like a Yugo or a PSA is totally gtg to get you started. Go out and have some fun, kings.

I'd prefer a WASR for slightly cheaper or a WBP Jack for slightly more. If you're getting an AK because you just want an AK then it makes sense to get the "default" layout of an AK as opposed to a variant.
That being said, a ZPAP is a quality rifle. It's just not an AKM
>>
>>58329442
I saw that it was stamped with 1.5mm thick steel while others were in 1mm thick steel and I like heavy things. Whats better about the WBP Jack?
>>
>>58329479
Yeah the receiver thickness is one of the defining characteristics of a Yugo pattern vs AKM.
The Jack is a Polish rifle and people seem to really like them. I have a WASR so I can't speak to the Jack, but people say the fit and finish is much nicer than a WASR. I'd agree with that. They're painted whereas a WASR is only parkerized, I prefer the look of paint more so I painted my own. Anyway, just general quality type things. They're gonna shoot the same. Basically all imported AKs will.
>>
>>58329479
True AKM pattern, not the Yugoslavian M70 pattern (makes it so that its easier to replace furniture, get replacement internal parts, etc)
Supposed to have better quality (cant speak for this as i own neither)

>>58331422
For that much, I'd look for a parts kit build. Century has a good Hungarian kit build on both milled and stamped receivers, see my post >>58319597 Tbh whatever you get just make sure the bolt, bolt carrier, and front trunnion are cast. Make sure the front trunnion is properly headspaced, and you should be fine. Pioneer has started using forged parts, Riley uses forged parts, and every currently made PSA uses forged parts. That's for the low end of "entry level" ak's, should run about the $600 to $900 range.
>>
>>58331422
WBP Fox or Jack if you don't want info overload and don't want to be disappointed with anything
>>
>>58331963
About market price, if you want to have a gunsmith drill out the holes for the underfolder trunnion it has, send it. Otherwise, it's a bit on the bulkier side for a 7.62x39 pistol.

i have. screws are cheap and poorly made.
>>
>>58276584
Morrissey receivers are shit and don’t have the correct markings or spot weld dimples. Or even the correct selector markings. Barrel isn’t chrome lined. And Atlantic is a mediocre builder. I bought two builds from them and both of them and both have been canted.

Arsenal Inc and Kike-Var are owned by the same kike owner

VSKA and P-Mags. Lmao.
>>
>>58331417
My WBP didn’t have any trigger slap. And it’s not as overgassed as a WASR. The ZPAP just feels less overgassed because it’s a beefier heavier rifle which absorbs more recoil.

Still a nogunz in this thread
>>
>>58335326
Same here. My WBP Fox came perfectly gassed but my 2018 GP WASR 10 was severely overgassed, I fixed it with a stronger alg recoil spring though. Neither had trigger slap

These didn’t sell out as fast as the Izhmash InRange built rifles. Why is that?

not many people want to pay $2300 for a rifle that has a few russian parts but the receiver and barrel and more parts are US made built by a relatively new builder
>>
>>58335807
sorry I made an error, the barrels aren't US made they're Polish, which are good but still not Russian and not Tula so it's a mix of Russian, US made and Polish parts
>>
>>58335807
Few Russian parts? You mean all the important components like the two trunnions, bolt, bolt carrier, furniture/stock set, and front and rear sight block?
>>
>>58335865
Sorry Atlantic that's not worth $2300 to me, give us a memorial day sale of $1500 and I'll consider
>>
>>58335756
Because the other one was a better build with nicer furniture and they used the correct paint (Intilmilco) whereas this one has "Teflon" whatever that implies.
>>
>>58335932
Don't forget it was also cheaper
>>
>>58335932
Nicer furniture? They both have Russian surplus, no? Is Izhmash furniture nicer than tula?
>>
>>58335932
Wouldn’t the Teflon be way more durable and corrosion resistant than the Russian paint?
>>
>>58336019
it's not as correct to the build, which is what matters to the type of people that spend $2300 on it
>>
>>58336062
Correct to the build? Only people with autism will notice. You still get a rifle with Russian Tula guts, a chrome lined barrel, and surplus Russian furniture that will be a cool piece in a collection.
>>
>>58335950
That too. It was unreal, I would have tried to get it had I not just paid for a gun a day before.
>>58335953
Its subjective but I felt the other one has nicer furniture.
>>58336019
>>58336062
>>58336086
Correct, only people with autism would notice. But if I'm dropping $2,300 on a clone-correct build then I had better be getting as close to clone correct as it gets.
>>
>>58336086
Ok, then...buy it? No one here is stopping you. I'm not sure what the point of your posts is. You're disappointed that something isn't sold out yet? Why? Are you trying to get anons to buy more? Did you already buy one a while ago and want to see it say "SOLD OUT" to feel like you got something special?
>Only people with autism will notice
Now you're getting it. That's why they haven't sold them yet.
>>
>>58336124
Are you trying to say AK owners have autism?
>>
>>58336137
AK owners who are seriously considering spending $2300 on an AKM are true connoisseurs. Yes, they have AK autism, and every little thing is important to them. Not just
>its got some kind of decent barrel from one country
>some kind of decent receiver from another country
>and the other parts from Russia
Do you understand yet? What's the point of your posts?
>>
>>58336156
>What's the point of your posts?
I guess just trying to find out why one Russian kit build rifle sold quick and the other one didn’t. But I guess I found out it is just due to autism.
>>
>>58336188
yeah pretty much, also the other one was cheaper so that helped it sell faster

I think they increased the price because Tula kits are rarer than Izzy kits and thus more desirable by collectors. But I guess those same collectors want a clone correct rifle. I was also checking the AKFiles and some user posted that the XY embossments are supposed to be squared on Tula AKM’s but on these Childers receivers they are rounded like Izhmash. You autists are incredible.
>>
>>58336268
I'm not sure which group is more autistic: AK nerds or classic car boomers
>>
>>58336268

Did the person who sold it you never use the internet before?
