what a shit place to put a camera
>>
>>57545714
they do not have cameras there which makes it a bit odd
>>
The attempt to destroy the drone was carried out in the same manner as in the recent incident involving the MQ-9 Reaper.
>>
>>57545700
Why wouldn't they just shoot it down? Did they think it was Turkish or something?
>>
>>57545733
no the su 27 dumped fuel at 200kn that bended the blades and caused the accident

here they tried a st martin throwing tourist off
>>
>>57545743
>According to Russian Sources, the Pilots of the Su-27s could not determine whether the TB2 Drone was Turkish or Ukrainian so there was not a Shoot-Down Attempt just the usual Harassment that we had seen with the U.S. MQ-9 earlier this week.

this sounds more like cope. turks dont fly near crimea.
>>
>>57545743
It's likely that it wasn't loaded with anti-air munitions. It was probably on its way to bomb another apartment complex, and the vatniks are too cheap to equip multirole fighters for multiple roles or fighting.
>>
>>57545700
I thought all TB2s were destroyed?

You can shave a lot of training time when the real thing looks and handles like ace combat.

I can't wait for one of these drones to have a missile or bomb aboard and take out some cocky Russian fighter.

And Im guessing you think snake island is still Russian, right?

>>57546119
between 1 and 99 depending on sources
>>
>>57546266
Not only did they steal it, they made a worse design and could only build 17 of them. Not to mention it took them 23 years to even copy. It’s like Russia’s other modern vehicles, claim to build a new cutting edge design that will destroy NATO equivalents but build 2 dozen at most. Classic Russia.

Some airlines utilize such a camera placement. It’s not entirely dumb. I would bet a bunch of aeronautics research agencies also do the same thing.
>>
>>57545714
It's a simple camera to check the state of the drone.

ause the video at the 10 second mark. This is when the UAV encounters wake. It immediately begins rolling to the right, and the ailerons can be seen trying to correct the roll. Notice their position. However at this stage the flight surfaces have no control authority due to the shitstorm they're in. Notice the position of the ailerons at the 10 second mark. It's commanding a left bank when the aircraft is rolling right.

Because it's wake turbulence, the UAV ends up overcorrecting and enters a strong roll to the right and begins pitching down. Again, it's pitching down because of the bank angle, the wings have stalled.

At the 20 second mark it has exited the area of wake and begins to stabilize then pitches upwards.

This is standard UPR maneuvering. You remove load from the wings, correct your roll, then slowly reduce your down pitch to correct your attitude.

For those wondering, this was the autopilot doing the corrections, the response time is way too fast for human input. On the top left of the video you can see the guidance status change from GV to STLA. super-twisting-like algorithm is an automated correction mode that will place the aircraft "back on track".

Baykar is trying to arm TB-2s with MANPADs to counter Iranian kamikaze drone attacks. If only this one had them, it would be by far the most embarrassing loss of Russia in this war so far.

Wake vortices ?

Smart way to take down the drone, without using a missile, but it didn't work in this case.

So what you are saying is time to nigger rig stingers to drones?
