AEM5 has internal threads that sit almost halfway into the can, that's why you need a collar to stop all the gasses from flying out the back of the suppressor. It will sit probably almost flush with the FSP. But 11.5 I don't know you might not have enough barrel to do it honestly. The actual gordon barrel was an 14.5, the movie it was 12.5.

Does anyone have a Silemcer Co suppressor? I picked up a Omega36m at LGS today. I was impressed by the quality. I was looking at it primarily for .300meme. But guy said 9mm and other hunting calibers were possible. I have no interest in using it for 9mm.
Only downside I see is needing front in caps for multi cal.

I was going to build a 723, but after throwing on some modern bits from the parts bin so I could shoot it while hunting for period correct bits I decided to just use parts I knew I liked. I'll probably just leave it with the A2 instead of swapping for a mount since I want to keep it handy and I already have enough night rifles to hang the can off of.

Have a 14.5" 1:7 SOCOM profile upper, looking at how best to feed it. I've seen some boomer bitching about how M855 & lower weights- effectively anything below ~69 grain- are worthless from that spec barrel, curious what sort of experience people here have had with performance from 55-69 grain weights. Hoping to keep prices of ammo relatively reasonable while also trying to find surplus to have decent velocities, apart from snapping up boxes of mk262 here and there.

The FTS mounts work fine. It's just that their native stowed position is the magnified view. Considering you decided to use a dot + magnifier instead of a scope then the magnified view being default is the opposite of your assumed priority of 1x performance.

1:7 was developed to stabilize M855
I've never been concerned with firing 55 grain out of a 1:7, but of course you're going to get better groups especially at range with mk262
Just buy 193 for shooting trash and a few boxes of 77 gr sierra from AAC whenever you need more

Sounds reasonable to me- I was confused why there was so much hate on m855 in general but in particular w/ regards to the 1:7 twist, as well as m193. Perhaps it's something to do with the steel penetrator? The minds of boomers elude me.

it's just kind of shit. I've heard m855a1 is actually pretty accurate. I've never gotten great groups with m855 (I think it is due to the penetrator if I remember right). There was a lot of drama back in the day surrounding m855, boomers likely were exposed to rumors during that era and never changed their minds, just like "m16 unreliable junk toy rifle" boomers

During the Las Vegas shooting, Stephen Paddock supposedly spent over 3000 rounds of ammunition over the course of 10 minutes from 27 AR-15s with bump stocks, despite the fact that that would have required him to drop a gun after each 30-round magazine was empty and videos from the survivors show that it was a non-stop stream of bullets with a firing rate much higher than a bump stock is capable of producing, coming from multiple locations which appear to be M240 lmgs. After the F.B.I took over the investigation, his house somehow burned down along with all the evidence and photos of his hotel room where he shot from show only about 50 spent shells. Years later, we don't know his motivation and there was strangely no follow-up on the biggest mass shooting in us history. His brother had numerous press interviews where he claimed it made no sense and suspiciously the very next day, he was arrested for possessing hundreds of terabytes of child porn. Supposedly, he stored all that on a 20 year old computer which ran Windows 95, at least according to the photo

Anyone have experience with Centurion's lightweight barrels? They have some nice features. A machined-in insert channel for their tabbed gas block, double dimpled for their gas block, they'll even pin it for you. I'm just curious if anyone here knows if they're as high quality as they seem.

Slow down dude, a federal awb is not going to pass, the poltiical climate isn't there for it. If there's no imminent state level ban then you have the time to save up and buy something better. You can do a PSA lower, but put more towards a better upper. As far as accessories, you can get a holosun, sling, wml, buis, rail, etc all used for pretty cheap. Ammo is a never ending expense, not sure how much you need but that's easy to price out. Is this your first gun? If not, wait. Do you have a handgun? If so, wait. Do you have any bolt guns, shotguns, surplus shit? If so, wait (and sell them).

they don't even care about that shit anymore, zoomers don't get married. The women get knocked up and then leave you to have the state hold you at gunpoint for 18 years of extortion. I dated a mexican girl from high school until I was in my mid 20s. She was beautiful and was super petite and didn't look like typical beaner women, her family was castizo and her pops and her had green eyes and very white skin. Most people thought she was arabic or something. She was jealous as fuck and not very submissive, she'd try to give me push back on a lot of my beliefs even at a younger age but I've always been stubborn so she couldn't break me that way at least. After her I swore I'd never mess with beaner broads again, which is super easy because I've never seen one as beautiful as her since.

>TA01
It's just like a TA31 but without the fiber illumination, so during the day there's no real illumination and the reticle just appears black, which works as fresh TA31s are retina-searing bright and need to have the fiber taped up anyway. This also lends it to be better under nods, illumination is perfect under PVS-14, and it works for me at that height on the carry handle.

You know what I mean, one or the other. They just be on their best behavior until they know they've got you by the balls. I had a latina degenerate try to do that shit to me, actually 2 different sluts. I was too wise to that shit and she constantly would deny my suspicions of her fucking around with a guy at work, but I immediately broke up with her and she concocted a story about how I abused her. Last I checked she drained that guy dry and left the state, then went back to a guy she knew from highschool and had a baby and is now a single mom. Lmao. Other bitch tried something similar but was just too dumb to make the lies work, she tried to make me get her pregnant by faking taking birth control pills. She just wasted the prime of her life the last 7 or so years by riding the dick carousel and not getting any education or skills at all and just got broke up with, now she's deleted all her shit on social media lol.

>not hanging off the side of the gun when not in use getting caught on shit.
I've not had this experience at all, I mean g33's have been used in combat for a long time and are battle proven. It feels more like reinventing the wheel and more hype shit. What experience did you have in such a short amount of time that made you go "yeah i have to have this!"

I was actually just researching this a bit yesterday and was wondering this, what the difference was between the tritium ones and the fiber ones. which one to use for night vision in the future. the video I was watching had a lot of good things to say about the crosshair reticle with no illumination.

Yeah, I was young and stupid at one time and didn't realize how manipulative women were in general, let alone hispanic women. Last time I checked up on my ex girlfriend she was with this hispanic looking guy but was still childless AFAIK as of recently, and she's about a year older than I am (38).

>reinventing the wheel and more hype shit.
Well, for one thing you can't use a flip to the side with a 2.26 optic mount anyway, which I intended initially to only use without magnification anyway for primarily shooting with night vision. I've only used a few FTS magnifiers before, and I just wasn't as much of a fan of them anyway because it always seemed like some convoluted shit to get magnification on a red dot setup, but it ends up weighing a fuck ton and having the same eye relief as an acog without the benefits of the ACOG clarity and FOV, so I dismissed them entirely for years. it wasn't until a few of my friends who also had night time rigs with magnifiers let me shoot their shit that I started to appreciate the ability to take the whole fucking thing off if need be, but also having the ability to shoot at distance if I wanted. My brother got a 3x mag behind the Sig 8T I sold him and it's on a standard FTS mount and after using it it actually just seems like going backwards to me, I like the idea of everything being inline and it just dropping down out of my view and not hanging off the side at all and triggering my autism.

>TL;DR version
There is no FTS 2.26 mag mount that I know of and I just like it anyway.

>>57542372
I was shooting with a buddy's taped up fiber TA31 ECOS earlier tonight and it's doable but it's still just a little too bright, and the tritium about halfway through it's life on that one. Honestly if it was a "general purpose" rifle I'd still get a TA02/RMR or TA31/RMR setup and make the RMR the primary night time optic. 4x under nods as my primary isn't something I'd do seriously except for maybe a meme like my A1 rifle.
>>
>>57542426
NTA, but FTC is IMO the superior stowage option for 1x usage. That said, if someone wants a FTS with a 2.26 dot, a 3/4 riser with an absolute FTS or a 5/8 riser with a lower 1/3 FTS gets you near enough to not make a difference.
>>
>>57542426
>using it it actually just seems like going backwards to me
Yeah I actually sort of agree. I figure going forward more companies will start making flip to center mounts. I don't have anything against them, I want to try one, I just don't want to shell out hundreds of dollars for a fucking magnifier mount.
>There is no FTS 2.26 mag mount
Yeah, I get that. I personally use the KAC skyscraper and it feels excellent to me. I have no need to buy another mount and I'm grateful that the g33 comes with a mount on its own. I do like the quick detach feature as well if I want to take it off. Does the FTC mount have a quick detach?

>>57542470
>if someone wants a FTS with a 2.26 dot, a 3/4 riser with an absolute FTS or a 5/8 riser with a lower 1/3 FTS gets you near enough to not make a difference.
I was wondering if I could use a FTC mount for my kac skyscraper. It sits 2.33 above bore, and the unity mounts are 2.26. I actually would kind of prefer to use the magnifier a little further back anyway.

>>57542426
>it's still just a little too bright
Damn, I was wondering this about it, as well, if it would be better to just get an LED cog and just turn down the brightness for night vision. But I'm debating it because I like all my gear to be SHTF certified and I do like the advantages that fiber/tritium offer as to not needing to worry about batteries as much. Is the battery life on those things good enough that you'd not have to worry that much? With fiber, I figured I could just tape it off for night use.
>>
>>57542647
I prefer controlling my brightness settings, and if you're planning on NV with an ACOG the forward positioning of the RMR is helpful. Delta34 on YouTube has a great series on ACOGs and their ability to work under NVGs. For your SHTF scenario, they take AAs, so are you really worried about keeping or finding batteries with ~20yr shelf life? The TA02 has long battery life, too.
Check out Omaha Outdoors or Heart of Texas Armory. The former has TA02 less than 1.1k, and the latter gives coupons.
>>
>>57542666
I just checked and they get 12,000 continuous hours. I'm gonna go with the LED acog. I was watching delta34 last night, he has a huge in depth series about it, was seriously impressed with the data he was putting out.
I was kinda hoping something about the fiber traditional ta31 would redeem it, simply for GWOT nostalgia. I don't plan on making it a primary optic for night vision, there are better ones for that, I just like to plan ahead and get the widest amount of use from my parts before I decide on what to buy. So planning ahead for night vision makes the most sense. I mostly want to make a GWOT M4 socom block 1 gun. I saw a video that showed that the battery compartment on the LED cog is the weakest part of the housing, if that gets cracked or damage the whole thing won't work and could leak battery acid. But other than that, the ACOG is still a tank, they had to shoot it to break it.

Thanks for the tip btw.

M193 is shilled here over 855 because of its lack of steel core. Almost no one here is shooting out of 20in barrels. The differences in twist rate between loads is negligible. Its not something you should spend a lot of time mulling over like some new gun autist. If you wanna autistically stock pile 77gr ammo thats your retard call.
>>
>>57540706
>>57543877
Because for training M193 equivalent loads will be the most cost-effective an M855 is marginally more expensive so not useful for training but not spectacularly better at anything meaningful. Terminal effect? get some TMKs or SMKs or gold dots or something. Penetration? M855A1 for the max larp. The steel penetrator can also lead to more inconsistent projectile construction and worse accuracy. Most M193 will outdo most M855 even if it's marginal.
I'd stack a bunch of M855 if it were as cheap as M193 so I can larp about shooting out single layer brick walls and through drywall and car doors and shit but why bother if it costs more? I'd rather be training with the cheapest shit I can get and doing shit with the best I can get.

It's going to dwindle down your handguard selection to next to nothing unless you're willing to start hacking up other rails yourself. Just use carbine gas.

I thought that's where it was! I did a walk-through of several of the major hotel lobbies a few years back when I was in town for business, and I happened to go through that garden. They had it staged with these huge animal sculptures made of flowers. Really cool shit.

I am back gentleman. I swapped out my fancy braided spring for a springco green and an h2 bufffer. Neither the rifle nor the h2 would cycle. My guess is that I am incapable of installing the gas block properly. My options as best I can tell are to buy a barrel with block pre installed or go to a gunsmith
>>
>>57546577
take the gas block off and observe the gas port for unusual fouling
try a flatwire spring instead of a springco
are you using a rifle length buffer tube?
can you give me a rundown of your setup? I don't think I was here for your initial post

I have a .750 20" ballistic advantage barrel on an aero upper. Green springco and some generic kak rifle buffer inside a rifle length ace skeleton stock. The barrel came with a superlative arms gas block

an adjustable one?
What malfunctions are you observing?
I really doubt that barrel would be so gaped as to immediately require an H2 or H3 rifle buffer

If they're loose, you leak a lot of gas,and the rifle won't cycle properly.

>adjustable gas block
First of all did you use a dimpling jig when installing it or did you eyeball it? Make sure that shit is aligned. Also I'm sure you already did this but did you crank the gas block all the way open?
>>
>>57547279
Are you using a rifle length spring and buffer?
>>
>>57547279
I am once again requesting the malfunctions you're experiencing
>>57547311
this too, a dimpling jig is a hell of a lot cheaper than a whole new barrel assembly
>>
>>57547333
>>57547311
I did not dimple it. Some retard on youtube said you dont need to.. The rifle will cycle but wont pick up the next round. Yes I tried cranking it open. Also witnessed. What jig do I buy?
>>
>>57546577
Get some canned air and check if the air cycles thru properly
>>
>>57547352
it's definitely short cycling. not enough gas is getting through and I'm leaning towards gas block as well. misaligned or maybe you are using weak ass steel case ammo?
>>
>>57547369
I thought it was ammo at first as well so I bought some imi green tip.

Considering you failed to align it properly you need a dimpling jig. I use the SLR jig and it works just fine. Also get a 5/32 cobalt bit for your drill. They make the dimple jig for different journal sizes and yours looks like .750 by the pic but double check.

The barrel and gas block came as a set but the barrel was not dimpled?
>The rifle will cycle but wont pick up the next round.
Okay, now we're getting somewhere. I assume you've tested it with a standard rifle spring and buffer, how is the recoil impulse?
What ammo have you tested so far? I see you've tested IMI m855, what else?
What magazines are you using?

adjustable gas blocks are useless if you don't know how to properly adjust them. just get a normal gas block, it should solve the issues you're having. make sure it's lined up properly too, as other anons said a dimpling jig is handy
>>
>>57547416
Ballistic advantage apparently does not dimple it.
>>
Anderson lowers are 30 bucks on primary arms rn
>>
>>57547441
too expensive desu
>>
>>57547440
Ok so buy the dimpling jig, use knurled set screws and use rocksett/red loctite on the screws before torqueing them on.
>>
>>57547426
>adjustable gas blocks are useless if you don't know how to properly adjust them.
a fully wide open adjustable gas block will work as well as a non-adjustable, I wouldn't bother wasting money on another gas block
>>57547440
that's wild desu
>>
you don't need to dimple gas blocks btw.

but you can
>>
>>57547527
You only truly need the dimple directly below the gas port. Double dimpling is fine if you want extra security but if you ever decide to use a different gas block it will need to have the same exact set screw spacing.
>>
>>57547536
Willl keep that in mind thank you

Anyone have experience with the Schmid ambi selector? I was going to grab Sionics' lower parts kit that includes this selector, but I've seen people complain that it tends to have noticeable slop in the receiver. Just wondering if that's common or if the complaints are from people with out of spec receivers.

Wait the aric requires a law folder? That's dumb. It should just use a screw-in plug like picrel. The law folder is a huge premium for the purpose of having a folding stock with a gun that uses a buffer tube.
