Do you think Su-27 bullied the drone or is a legit way to destroy your enemie without firing a bullet?
Do you think Russia plans to recover wreckage of USA drone?

no it was a fucking stupid idea, Russia will not be able to recover the drone because US assets are already above the crash site and they are damn lucky not to have lost a plane in the process

Can Russians even REPLACE their planes? How is risking a combat craft thats difficult to replace and its pilot even near as worth it to take out a fucking Surveillance drone that your enemy can shit out by the thousands?
> Not only that but being able to stop your adversary from collecting intel which is provided to your opposition while you’re in a war is pretty invaluable.

>>
>>57533242
Ramming a global hawk would actually make sense because it would deny an expensive strategic asset, MQ-9s are dime a dozen. As far as I know Russians have made zero attempts at harassing things that actually matter.
>>
>>57533255
Cheap no, but capital is readily available and we do have others. To simply write this off is coping though. America should have taken a tougher stance instead we did the political equivalent of calling them a bully and proceeded to not fly out drones in the same region out of fear of a similar incident. Truthfully we should have flown an armed escort in response and checked the Russians bluff. I feel that we lost face on the global stage by simply backing away.
>>57533277
>Can the Russians replace their planes?
Yes, albeit slowly.
>how is risking a combat aircraft worth taking out a surveillance drones?
Removing an opponents ability to understand what is happening in a battle space is invaluable. Where as Ukraine would have had early warning on any airbases that would be mass wing planes/tank formations staging for an offensive they were left for a moment with no help in planning. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are EXTREMELY reliant on American and NATO intel gathering. Intel can absolutely make or break a battle.
>shitting out thousands of drones
In theory possible, but not likely nor based in reality. Truthfully we’d be lucky to procure another 5-10 by the end of the year. If you’re ever interested in learning about military procurement the DoD posts what they’re purchasing annually and how long it takes for them to reach their units.
>what happened to the vaunted Russian EW?
Overrated and apparently much less capable then previously though. However EW isn’t aimed at destroying drones 50000 feet in the air.

America has unlimited money because fiat
>Russia going dollar for dollar with USA
Good luck.
>>
>>57533242
>Its cost is nearly on par with the cost of a Su27
It's more, in nominal dollar value. The difference is that the US is an industrial titan with war coffers that are basically infinitely bounded, the biggest economy in the world, and the ability to keep on churning out cheap drones for as long as it needs to. Russia's economy is the size of a gnat's fart in comparison.
>if the punishment for a crime is a fine, that law only applies to the poor
Russia has to diligently watch its speed while on the road. The United States peels out in a Bugatti with Jew Bidden in the back seat, throwing money out the window to passing niggers. Russia's expenses are not the same.

>>

>>
>>57534293
Ahhh yes, the MQ-9 drone with a cruise speed of 170kts slowed down intentionally to get in the way of an Su-27 which cruises above 400kts and can hit over 1400 kts with after burners.

And the MQ-9 did this 19 times in a row

either the Su-27 pilot is worse than we thought, or the MQ-9 is alien tech that can fly circles around the Su-27
>>
Why wouldn't they just use cannon instead?
>>
>>57534341
Because then they can't claim it was an accident

now they can publicly say to the western world, "oops our bad" and then in russian domestic media you brag about how your pilots valiantly took down an American drone spying on mother russia illegally. It doesn't matter if none of that is true, you still give the pilots a medal and make them out as heroes in the homeland.

Harder to do that when you shoot down a western plane and the west starts shooting back. The domestic populace would cheer for Russia shooting down an American drone too, but they'd cry foul if the US attacked back, so it's in russia's best interest to destroy it without firing a shot so they can try and get the best of both worlds (NATO doesn't want to shoot you for it, and your own media and populace love you for downing evil American spy plane)

I'm not sure why so many people get this wrong, like the big deleted post in this thread which many people replied to.
The drone they collided with was a MQ-9, not a Global Hawk. The Global Hawk, as far as public info goes, is purely for reconnaissance and does not carry weapons.
The USAF did not start flying Global Hawks over the black sea "only yesterday", the FORTE Global Hawks have been consistently flying there over international waters since the war began, even with their transponders on so anyone can track them. The MQ-9 drones generally do not have transponders turned on.

Perhaps the russian troll farms need to update the script they use with more believable disinformation.

If Russia is making Felons, they can also make Flankers.

>russians need to resort to dumping fuel and literal mid air collisions to bring down a 20 year old drone

It's retarded because the US can scramble any sensitive data on the drone. The tech itself is from the 90s, so I guess Russia could gain like 20 years of technology if they were capable of recovering it. And I do think they're able to recover it with their submarine Moscva in the area.

I don't get russian logic, if they think it's ok to shot down anything they want close to Ukraine, why they went through the process of fueling on top of drone and then ramming it instead of rocketing it in the first place?

I don’t think they were trying to actually down it I think they were just messing with it before the collision

Why did they try to lie and say that the drone just crashed on it's own until the US released video of them making passes and dumping fuel on it? Don't try to understand the logic of Russian talking heads because there is no logic to what they say
