Berettafags, what other handguns have you enjoyed shooting? I love my 92X dearly, and would like something roughly similar. I shot a CZ the other day that I enjoyed, and too much Eva and Collateral makes me want a USP, but I don’t really want to pay the H&K tax. The Hi-Power, FNX and PX4 also seem cool.
OP you fucked it up
OP this is the Glock of /hg/ threads
CZ shadow with blue grips y/nYes I have a BerettaYes I have a CSXYes I have a 1911
>>56903152Yes but the first thing you should do is discard the blue grips. Pretty but way too thin.
Attention:All CZ Shadow and SIG Legions are now gay. Canik SFX-S will be the new USPSA meta.
>>56903304I'm racist though so it'd have to be Walther for me.
>>56903344That's fine. Also I think you can put wood grips on the this too.
>>56902957I like my CSX, 1911s and revolvers. The Gen 5 glocks I have shot I have positive things to say about the triggers.
>>56903152How is the csx? Thinking about getting one for carry ( what else would it be for). Already have a p365 xl but just don’t really care for it, strongly prefer hammer fired and the metal frame is a plus.
Took the 509c out in it's natural element, immediately slipped, fell and got snow down the barrel. Hope everyone is warm and toasty, treat yourselves to a hot cocoa today boys.
>>56903728Not him but I think it’s very shootable and like the trigger. It shoots where I aim it. The trigger reset is not an issue for me since I don’t ride the reset - I think riding the reset is a very bad habit people develop. I may get mine cut for an optic, 507k.
>>56902867Floridaman herein my infinite benevolencei will answer you eurofagpricetarget pistols from your graphic are often $2k+ usd, i can get a basic ruger mrk IV for like $400-500, and a fancier model for like $200 moreuseamericans can shoot in a variety of modern shooting sports, in all calibers and forms, not just watered down olympic style 22lr target shootingalso i can get a 22lr version of basically any pistol for cheaper training, but it will generally match the form factor of the actual gun it is based on, not have fancy sports gripsthose grips also suck as you can only train one handed right arm extended traditional profile stance, not modern two handed stances confortably or left handed really at all
Someone find me a MTR-14 please ahhhhh
>>56903770Can you get it cut, some videos seemed to think there isn’t enough room for a cut. Thanks btw

>>56904208Where will this be sold? I’m that guy who never emailed you after I said my first gen coom oil dissipates too fast
>>56902957My jericho is quite nice desu, it's got a bunch of CZ internals. My HK is alright, same with the FNX. I guess it really depends on what you want. Do you want another DA/SA?
>>56904305In Arizona, Moka Raifus also got some. Im still using those overprices rubber caps but once those are gone its amazon time for /k/ with 400bottles of Coom :D
>>56903204they are actually hideous, i prefer shadow grey version much betteror lok ones
>>56904502>>56903725Thanks ladsEither one really, I like DA/SA but wouldn’t be opposed to an SAO gun. I shot a Springfield 1911 a while ago and liked it, but if I was going that route I’d probably just get an SA-35. I’m kind of interested in the BOX cheetah since I could carry it but I feel like I should get something other than another Beretta.
Ok so i finally have my CCW permit and need to chose a carry gun. Looking on the very small side, this gun needs to work for me in summer with shorts and a t shirt. Going to go to a gun store near me and shoot a few sometime soon, here's what I'm currently interested in Sig P365Baby 1911'sRuger LCPA j frame .38CZ compact or smallerThe only handgun I own is a double stack 1911. I really do like the trigger feel from a hammer fired pistol, I like a manual safety, and I like that shape in my hand. So the baby 1911's seem like a good starting point, but they're still pretty heavy for their size when I went to a gun show recently, and don't offer much capacity. But at the end of the day I want something comfortable enough to either pocket carry or barely feel it inside my waistband, so I've started considering some striker fired guns like the LCP and p365. Are there any guns that should be on my list to take a look at that I don't have here?
We had a good run, I'm proud of you guys
>>56905050>j frame .38do it
>>56904941FNX tactical is good if you want a threaded barrel and optic. I got my HK to have a reliable compact carry with a safety that is DA/SA.>>56905051all that waiting finally paid off
>>56905051What the actual fuck is wrong with you, besides morbid obesity?
>>56905050CSX. A lot like a tiny 1911 but smaller and double stack and has a better safety (does not lock the slide in place)
>>56905050The easiest gun to carry that I own is a ruger LCR. Works fine in jeans pocket, disappears with a unity runners belt. I dislike shooting tiny guns enough that I still carry a double stack 95% of the time anyway.
>>56905084Is that good? Never seen them locally.
>>56905124it's god tier. It was exclusive to Microsoft for a long time under the name fusion, got rebranded and is now sold in Safeways. Made by talking rain so the same people that make sparkling ice. It's basically like one of those non-carbonated sparkling ice drinks but with a bunch of caffeine and l-theanine in them.
>>56903152Yes. Theyre pretty sweet. Alternatively save up and buy a staccato
>>56902867I'm not terrified by target pistols, I just think they look like crap and the types of competitions they are used in have a format that's so different from the way I plan on using my guns that participation seems pointless. Asking why I'm afraid of target pistols is like Caitlyn Jenner asking why dudes are afraid to ask "her" out
>>56905263I already own a not-staccato but thought about getting another 2011 as an excuse to buy more magsThere's a lot of staccato c's being resold in my area, any real reason why
>>56905197Sounds rad, I'll keep an eye out!
>>56905109Oh that looks right up my alley, definitely going on the list anon

Am I imagining it or did someone post a 365/hellcat type handgun from HK at shotshow a couple threads back. Anyone have info?
>>56906234sorry bro, shit sucks right now but it will get better. Time to grind leetcode, I've heard there's a ton of startups scooping up engineers laid off from big tech. I hope they gave you a decent parachute along with you having a decent emergency fund.

>>56904208Nano oil? What the fuck? I want coomoil on my guns and my hands, not this off brand stuff.
>>56906526Thanks. I'd love to have an HK replacement for my XL tbqh.
>>56906526What's the point? M&P Shield and Sig 365 dominate this tiny gun meta. No one buys multiples of the same gun, execpt for Burt. H&K is good where its at, they need to make civilian alternatives of their long guns, not more meme firearms.
>>56906526yeah it looks like SLS printed nylon. I'm more surprised they added an optics cut. Might finally be catching up to the times, only many years behind SW for a higher price.

I've been increasing my emergency fund and trimming expenses like crazy. I want some nice guns but I think I need to just sell other things to fund this hobby for the time being.
>>56906227obsidian 9 is a great can, highly recommend picking it up.really want to get a threaded barrel for my PDP but the $250 Walther charges just feels way too steep
>>56906838Mine atleast came with 2 thread protectors and a different recoil spring that I assume is stiffer as there more blowback with a can?
>>56906777anyone have a glock 43x and a 17 you could do a side by side comparison? also, if you have a 43x, how do you like it?
>>56906697If HK dropped their prices 35% across the board they'd be good where they're at. But their premium pricing model combined with outright disdain for customers is abhorrent. Seeing them scramble to play catch up with a halfbaked micro 9 that has protruding cocking ears sticking out and a full size optic is bordering on pathetic>>56906227I was made aware of pic related recently. It doesn't change my opinion that the Obsidian is one of the best silencers on the market and they will repair this, but it seems to be inordinately common and apparently they require you to send the silencer in on your dime. Which is the gay part, usually silencer manufacturers pre-pay shipping for service.>>56906777I'm glad you were smart enough not to blow your load month to month like most Americans
>>56906777Alphabet related. I assumed you were axed recently like the rest of them.
>>56902957High level competitor/trainer here. The Elite LTT has been my favorite gun to shoot. I've shot them all and nothing comes close to how it fits my hand, and how smooth it operates. I have two of them. A standard iron sighted model (muh carry) and my competition model which is basically the exact same gun but with an RDO slide. They are a little big to be carrying all the time though.
>>56905746Be careful, some of the 2011 mags don't inechange - e.g. svi, atlas, stacAs far as them being sold on aftermarket, I'm not sure. Maybe they want a different model. The price point for the comp versions is on par with an svi, which is a little goofy.
>>56906933>I was made aware of pic related recently. With my first can, I made the rookie mistake of sending it to a store without a range. So with this one I'm going to get it at a store with a range, so at least if this does happen, I think it should be able to be sent and fixed while I'm waiting for approval
>>56906933Might be 45 cans with 9 end caps, I've heard that can cause strikes.
>>56906933I'm more bothered by their premium pricing model combined with their pistols generally being nothing to write home about.
>>56907043Staccato mags work in an atlas, and most people recommend getting atlas springs for your staccato mags

>>56902957H&K USP is the most painfully boring gun I own. You pull the trigger, it goes bang. It's heavy enough to tame recoil, but light enough to feel good in the hands. It is aesthetic in a function over form kind of way. Only complaints are that the grip is blocky and you may not like it, I'd definitely hold one before purchasing. The trigger is good enough for a duty pistol, but it is not great. It requires an aftermarket rail adapter if you go that route. Holster availability is poor if you add a light. You can do a bit of work on the trigger, such as short reset trigger, match trigger, and LEM. The variants allows a lot of options. If I only could own one handgun, it would be a hard decision between a Glock 19.5 and the USP.
>>56908348Sportsmansguide, they sold out.
Anyone here have experience with Vedder holsters? I placed an order roughly three weeks ago, how fucking long does it take to heat up, and mold some holstex? I've never had to wait this long with other manufactures

>>56908259Yes, it looks to be a T series, however it is a contract pistol. The reason commerical T series are coveted is because they were hand fitted and polished. It does not have any collector value, it is shooter grade.
>>56909119Jesus Christ that import mark :(
>>56908795This probably applies to the patches too.
>>56909133You sure? It doesn’t have a lanyard loop, I thought that along with the grips was the indicator of contract.
>>56909180I know the import is really fucking annoying, but I’m very happy for the $620ish I paid.
>>56909220At least the import mark is small and dark, It's definitely a shooter, finish looks good too, worn but in an even manner. Enjoy! Here's my favorite Beretta 92S. The owner of the gun shop looked at me like I was an idiot when I told him I bought it sight unseen. I tried to explain buying surplus firearms to him but he just didn't get it. I don't go to that shop any more.
To anyone interested Bass pro/cabelas is clearncing the PPQ .45 for $350. https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/walther-ppq-45-semi-auto-pistol
>>56909345Yea it will be a shooter. I bought it blind as well and was expecting worse. Their example photo had the import mark on the other side and the finish basically gone with rust. I’m really happy to get a real FN example and the fact that it’s T series and in better than expected is just a bonus. I’m gonna shoot the piss out of it.
Guys, how did they do it, how did they make the perfect pistol even better?
>>56909345Buying guns sight unseen is really stupidI do it all the time though, I think I only 25% of my guns were purchase new, the rest were gunbroker
>>56909512>not the DWX
anyone know what this red stuff is on my new super redhawk? it doesn't come off, I've tried a moist rag with CLP, and scrubbing with a nylon brush but not even a bit comes off.
>>56909564It’s really fun. I’ve done it for about 7 guns, but none were more than $6-700 so it wasn’t too bad. I haven’t been disappointed in any of them, have been very happy with most, and it satisfies the monke gamba itch in my brain.
>>56909564All of mine were from ClassicFirearms or J&G Sales. I must have pretty good luck because out of 5 pistols I bought they all turned out nice. Only one needed any work but it gave me a chance to really get to know S&W revolver internals.

>>56913356Honestly. I bought it because it was made by some guy on /k/ and seems legit. The basic idea is that it’s the combination of a dry lubricant (hBn which is used by reloaders as bullet lube) and oil to increase its lubricative effect. If you go back in the archives he has posts telling you all about how to make the prototype oil. His actual product he seems trying to maximize the rust inhibition and protection of the oil. I cannot tell you how actually good it is, the guns I put it on for storage haven’t rusted, I use it in my carry guns, it lubricates. How much better? Pistols with threaded barrels are about to be classified as assault weapons and banned from purchase here in Washington, so I wanted to pick one up before then. >>56916109Dealer cost is about 1200, so go from there. Anon is right, it's a mediocre gun. If you want the full match trigger like the Expert/Elite you'll need to change a few springs.

They were already expensive at that price!Anyway Tacticals used to come with match hammers which may still be the case but barring that change the main difference is springs. The Tactical has regular USP springs (TRS, sear, hammer), the Elite/Expert have lighter match springs. The hammer and sear springs are easy to change but the TRS is a serious problem to get in.So you do want the threaded barrel then? Damn. >>56921514That looks like it'd be really uncomfortable to pull DA.
>>56921629it kind of is, you can see why Beretta went with the 92XP trigger despite the 92XP being able to be carried cocked and locked. The 92XP trigger (my favorite) in the 92Xi probably is a home run, DA/SA and cocked and locked for those CZfags. I could not install the normal return spring and had to use one of those wilson combat trigger conversion kits with the flat face, the normal return spring is like fully tensioned when you install due to the trigger position so the trigger is probably a bitch to install in a 92Xi. you get most of the flat face while still comfortably being able to pull the DA trigger

>>56922687>>56922222Changes to pistol in obvious to not so obvious:1. RMRCC mount for NV passive shooting2. Griffin Armament cam-lok suppressor mount/comp for ease of suppressor install/removal3. GI industries aluminum grip because it feels better, grips tighter and fits my hand better (cheely profile).4. Geppert Large adjustable trigger. Done to flaten my trigger finger due to size, am running on the shortest setting to fit, had to cut back of trigger shoe to clear magazine release.5. Cheely non-threaded magazine release. Serrated myself to change to a horizontal serration for a better grip instead of vertical when bringing my thumb down off the safety for magazine changes6. Sear spring adjustment, the grip swap changed dimensions off enough to reduce all preload which was honestly too tight for my taste. Went from an original 1lb Safety, 2lb pretravel with 3lb break/3lb reset, to a .5lb safety, 2lb pretravel, 4lb break and reset. It went from being the gun equivalent of cherry reds to cherry mx blues; without the sound.
>>56922754Also forgot, I chopped down the slide release. Part of this was to fit the grip without having to chop it like the stippled sti grip; but the real reason was in a high tang grip it's easy for my thumb to lean just enough on the slide release by accident to interfere with last round open. The slide release is still far enough back for to one hand release the slide without having to do the 1911 flip.I did the trigger shoe, slide release and serration on the mag catch by hand. Not the best out there but the only way to learn is to do it.

>>56922852I just got my rmrcc milled 2011 back from vulcan. It was 7 weeks for milling and recoating.Of which apparently their glocks are faster because they've been doing it longer. They do require you to send in the optic with the slide probably to confirm fitment. I got back the same exact RMR CC I sent them confirmed by Serial Number so there is no scam there.
>>56916214I'm just going yo ignore your text and ask why the fuck you'd get a RMR duo?Had one paired with my acog since mounting a batter requiring optic as a close tange backup for a non battery optic didn't make much sense on paper.Holyfuck that thing was trash. >>56920702I have smedium hands and it wasn't too bad for me. I'll usually use rest my support hand a bit further up toward the muzzle since these new grips have really good contact and checkering. It definitely helps to get slimmer grips. Even with smedium hands, I don't have trouble actuating the frame mounted safety (I'm not a big G dedocker fan), it just takes a lot of range day drills and dry firing imo. I actually can’t take it off right now as I meant for it to go on a compact since I put too much locktite on because I was a retard who listened to their instructions, I should have used rocksett or a other purpose made threadlocker for muzzle devices. The .40 S&W 96 recoils a lot, it really needs a ported or compensated barrel. Makes for a good training aid for practicing the 92
>>56922222If your backup irons are sighted in, you can look through your irons making sure front and rear are aligned and then just move the dot until it sits on the front post. You should be 95% zeroed then Kind of makes the whole having to remove the sight to replace the battery once a year (or a couple of months) a nonissue
>>56925361My experience with handguns is that this is not true. Using irons without the dot they can be zeroed perfectly, put the dot on and use the irons to zero the dot, the dot is off. Parallax, lenses, magic, I don't know.

someone made new:>>56925285>>56925285>>56925285>>56925296I wonder if the Beretta one is any good. I guess you can't just stick that shit in the toilet like that one anon that wanted his rocksett muzzle device off his AR a while back
>>5692101092's slide has a big chunk of mostly useless metal cut out of it. Nobody else can copy it without looking like a Beretta.
