ACOG has good glass. FOV is so wide even though it's a 4x instead of 5x it looks better. Lots of light transmission and actually daylight bright reticle. Would recommend over PA prism if you can spare the cash.

I wanted a prism with a red dot since it's easier for me to move my head an inch than take my hand off entirely to adjust magnification or flip a magnifier to the side. Obviously eye relief and no diopter are downsides but I think the upsides justify it. For being 35 years old it still works pretty great.

Not a rifle post but uh...I bought a Canik Rival on a whim and not only is it a better performing pistol than any of my gen 5 Glocks--it is a significantly better value than any of them. $ 630+tax and it includes a whole kit including a holster. I'm gonna run the pistol in some USPSA carry optics matches and see how I do. I've never fired a faster striker fired polymer frame pistol in my life and I've shot all of them. Somehow it even feels better than the Walther PDP competition variant(the polymer one, haven't tried the metal one).Honestly, if you're looking for a good performing pistol and don't care which country it comes from--seriously consider the Canik. Yes, mine has a horosun on it and that is actually my first horosun but so far its doing great. I shot this using just the circle reticle(with no dot) and the circle dot and the circle dot is just too busy. Haven't decided if I'm gonna keep using just the circle or switch back to the classic dot.

The Canik Rival isn't even meant to be compared to a G19, it's more akin to a G34 but completely outclasses an out of the box G34 in everyway and its over $100 less expensive. The Rival is specifically designed for competition however Canik does have guns that are much more similar to the G19 and they typically cost $300 and from what I've heard they too have better ergos and a much better trigger. I haven't actually shot those ones though.
