Single shot, magazine is fake. Working the bolt doesn't cock the rifle, you have to do it manually. Wiggling the bolt handle will drop the firing pin. Only fires 1/5 of the time.

Previous owner was an old Cuban guy who worked 60 hours a week at a factory for 30 years AND was getting VA checks since 1967, and he was richer than God. Don't know why he sold off his collection, but the shelves of the LGS were full of Colt 1911s and 1903s and Woodsmans and Police Positives, all engraved and cerakoted and plated and shit. Some of them were really nicely done, and sold for a couple grand, but a lot were just ruined.
Apparently the Cuban guy is now buying classic cars and "fixing" them with copious amounts of chrome

>>
>>56117571
>What is it
Basically the same as the upper rifle (Steyr Mannlicher-Schoenauer), just purpose-built as a sporting rifle 51 years later.
>and what is the dual trigger control?
The front trigger is the "normal" trigger and releases the striker, but pulling the rear trigger moves the sear to the point where the sear is just barely holding the striker back. At that point, you have to merely lay your finger on the front trigger and it will release. The idea behind such a hair trigger to minimize trigger travel and thus the time in which for your sights might drift off your target once you have a good sight picture on it.

This milsurp Helwan, at least I'm pretty sure it's a military contract one since it's got sandrunes on it. About 1% original finish left on it, one warped grip panel with an improvised screw, and the mag release don't work if the button is screwed down all the way. Not sure if I wanna try my hand at rust bluing and restoring it, or leaving it as-is.
I got it because it was really cheap, and I wanted a sidearm to go with my Hakim.

Unquestionably this one. It's PSA and no-name bargain parts on a 3DP lower I made (leaf sight too) and held together with pipe straps and some bolts. Jams up one in ten times since blanks don't feed reliably from un-modified magazines. Still one of my favorites, cause I built it and the *BLOOP* is incredibly satisfying. Fun range interactions too, like shooting skeet w/ two dudes running drum-mag turkshit semi-auto 12ga.

The difference is, a Beretta '51 is an excellent pistol.
For the usually poor to awful state they are found in, the Hakim and Rasheed rifles at least did not try to maim the shooter or self-disassemble during normal use. (As long as you knew the foibles of the Swedish finger trap, that is)

I've grown tired of this little thing. It was an ok enough carry gun for it's price, but now I have better. And what's more, every time I shoot it, it shits powder residue in my face and up my nose, and I sneeze uncontrollably as my body tries to eject the explosive powder from my sinuses.
I'm gonna look into getting a Colt revolver sometime. Thinking a King Cobra. I don't plan to get rid of this snubby though, instead what I think I'll do is remove the grips and put them on the Colt for the hell of it, since I do kinda like these grips. They were the main reason I wanted to get this thing, for some reason the rounded shape appeals to me. Dunno if they'll fit on a Colt though, grips should be the same size right?

>>
>>56122224
which was based off the 71/84 action
>>
>>56122178
Perhaps. Who makes Kimber stuff again?
Anyway, I might need to see one for myself. Call me a boomer-brain but I've really begun to get into these older guns now. I'm currently seeking out a Colt Mark IV Series 70 due to the grip shape and smaller sights, series 80 and onward up to now have too high sights and too angular grips for me. But it might be hard since they're no longer in production. After I get a 1911 (must be GI model, cannot do new shit), then I want a new revolver that can take my .357 and .38 ammo and is six-shot so it works with my existing speed loader. I was thinking the Cobra due to price and having the Colt controls I've become more familiar with. And I do really want to see if these grips will fit onto one, I actually do like these particular wood grips a lot.
Then after the Cobra, I was going to save up for Colt's carry handle AR. May get some milsurp in between all this, depends what I see and how badly I want it to delay getting the new stuff.

Fair enough, I'm just not the kinda guy who puts an optic on his pistol. If I do want to though, Colt's revolvers have those screw-on rear sights, I can attach a rail there instead. The 1911 isn't to compete but more for EDC and larping as Tom Selleck (meaning I pretend I'm a sexually desirable himbo with friends and lovers and not whatever I actually am).
As for the AR, I do already have a rail-top AR, but I want the 20 incher with a carry handle anyways because it's sexy. Plus, raised optics are in these days, and it so happens that the carry handle can have a rail affixed to the top IIRC. If I need the optic, I can still use one with that. Also my planned purchases after getting the AR would be a newer-style handguard so I can kit it out like they were issued in Desert Storm. The thing should come with the triangular grip as standard, so my Vietnam larp would already be covered.

Correct ammo is a bitch to find, and I have yet to find Original Techno Arms ammo in the wild. The mags are 5 rounds a pop and thankfully mine came with three. They’re oversized and go in the grip like an Uzi or that commie VZ subgun.
I also found a bunch of rust on one of my mags. Turns out, one of the cats I was watching pissed inside my range bag right on top of it, ruining the nice blued finish on it.
Fuck that cat for having an aversion to litter boxes and fuck South Africa for making it’s engineers resort to making wacky self defense options to its peoples back in the 1990s.

Yeah, I was look for reloading stuff and other shell options but I during my research I found a video from some guy on Reddit who used Nobel Sport Italia Minibuck shells for his and it worked fine. Got 50 rounds for $1 a shot. Not great, not terrible, but it is a memegun and I don’t reload so it was worth to buy scarce import ammo for my scarce import shotgun.
>Also degrease that magazine with brake cleaner (non chlorinated) and boil it a while and gently scrub the rust off with #0000 steel wool. Should bring it SOMEWHAT back. IIRC after boiling/drying you should put it right into kerosene before scrubbing it with steel wool. Or was that after?
Thanks for the advice. I never dealt with much rust in my gun ownership until this point. New home, old farmhouse with a lack of insulation. Granted this rust is from cat piss but I also found out tonight my prized 1st gun, Henry Golden Boy Eagle Scout edition has its lever COATED in rust. East of the gun is rust free thankfully.

It's not going to look as nice as original but it should be fine. Might be a little lighter. Might be pitted. Boil it a lot. Way more than you think you should (30 minutes to an hour if not two). Just in case. Last thing you want to do is scrub it and find it barely blued. If you want it to be full blue again you're going to have to use something to rust it and do the rust/boil/card process multiple times (like rustblue.com).

Just use straight mineral oil after boiling and scrubbing the rust off and let it soak up. No detergents, don't use anything that's supposed to remove rust for a while. Looks like Briggs and Straton Premium 4-Cycle Small Engine Oil (SAE 30) works fine and Walmart sells their cheap shit in a blue bottle with a green label on the sticker that IIRC is "30w Lubricating Oil" which says it's straight mineral oil on the back.
>>
>>56132021
Thanks.
Most of my rust removing experience is usually just spots of surface rust on old guns with sparse finish and helping my uncle and cousin defaulting a bunch of inherited guns that were stored away for years. But they just used motor oil and steel wool. Even on guns that are considered to be collectible.
Thanks again for the consideration. My Henry is too prized to me and the Mag-7 mag is too collectible/expensive to let it waste away.
>>
>>56132070
I'll link these so you don't have to just go off text. I swear he dunked parts in kerosene overnight in one video but he may have removed the video. Who knows. Probably wouldn't boil the springs; just remove the rust manually on them. Not that they're blued anyways.

>>

>>
>>56135830
Gun has been fired with a improperly torqued recoil lug.
See the recoil lug off-center in the cutout? Like it's been pushed back towards the butt.

The material directly behind the lug has given away slightly. Now the recoil is being transmitted to the stock from the back of the reciever.

Keep shooting that rifle and the stock will split at the wrist. I'm sure if an inspection was done on the wrist right now, you would find hairline cracks along the lamination layers.

It's too late to do anything with the stock. Tightening up the recoil lug now won't save it.
Should have been responsible and done that before shooting.

>Isn't that standard on hunting rifles?
Not for about the last 70 or 80 years, no, and really never outside of Europe. They still show up on some yuro hunting rifles from time to time and are available as kits for various mausers but rifle triggers have improved so massively over the 20th century that on new rifles they've been no more than luxury trim for a couple of generations now. On rifles that started off as more-or-less mil-spec (ie. almost all of them in yurop until well after WWII and longer still in Germany and adjacent areas), with mediocre triggers from a sporting perspective, replacing those factory triggers with set triggers made a lot of sense because it was a much cheaper option than trying to tune a mechanism that had been designed to be rugged enough for military service and "good enough" in terms of performance. Remember, the point of double set triggers is to make the break weight light enough that the rest of how the trigger performs doesn't matter. If you ever get the chance to play around with them, you'll notice that they're not the same as something like a light match trigger - when they break, it's not nearly as clean or crisp but they're so sensitive that you don't even notice. On the primo double set triggers they're just as nice, of course, but I'm talking here about the guns that carried by Angus the ghillie or Hans the groundskeeper or Boomer McFudd with his 60s Steyr from when he was stationed in Germany and not the richfags toting around late-model rigbys and dumoulins for their annual hunt.

These are both pretty trash but the .25 takes the cake for sure. It does fire and it does eject. Reasonably accurate too. Just won't load, jams every time. Bought it for 20 bucks so its whatever, still a novelty and conversation starter.

Not in worse shape, but supposedly manufactured to a lower standard. Though to be fair, mine isn't that bad. The only recurring problem it has is the slide refusing to rack unless the hammer is pulled back first. Even then it needs finagling though.
>>

They got like 10 of these things in at my lgs over a year ago I think they have moved about 5 of them. I'm sure the answers NO but how solid are these things? Could they handle pissing hot loads ? They feel cheap So i do doubt it
>>
>>56152697
The windy isn't so bad. I've read a lot of horrible things about them online, like how pins will walk out on you when shooting .357 or that the zinc-alloy trigger guard will blow up, but nobody I've met who owns one in real life has had anything particularly bad to say about them. Also TFBTV torture tested one and it held up fine.
The only comments that seem to have any truth to them at all are the ones that claim the trigger just isn't good, mine included, and on a revolver that's a pretty big mishap.

The WESCO MARK IV nightmare rifle
>bizarre Thompson/Sten hybrid chambered in .45ACP
>mags are Grease Gun mags with chunks cut out of it
>bolt needs about 70 pounds of force to pull back
>the recoil spring might be a shock from a motorcycle
>held together with allen bolts, all different sizes
>rear sight is a big ass ring off of a shotgun
>only one sling mount
>there's a big chunk of rubber at the back of the receiver that the bolt bounces off of
>failure to feed 2/3 of the time
>when it jams you have to hold the super-heavy bolt back with one hand and stick your fingers inside the receiver to try to dig the shell out
>if it stovepipes, it will slice the casing in half
>handguard looks like it will burn your hand, but I've never been able to shoot it long enough for the barrel to get hot

I'm gonna say it, picrel fucking sucks in .380. Maybe they're humane in .32, but they have sharp edges, don't work reliably with a lot of defensive ammo, and have way more recoil than a gun that heavy has any right to. I got one thinking it'd be a cool carry piece, but fuck, its so much worse than modern offerings at everything but looking sleek.

I've shot my buddy's PPK/S in .380 and it was downright brutal. Pretty guns for sure, but no fun at the range at all.

My PP in .32 and is MUCH nicer to shoot, although the stupid sharp edges on the front and back of the frame still make it a little uncomfortable. With some Pachmayr wrap arounds it would be great, but I can't find them anywhere.
