If the technology to slow and reverse aging exists through stem cell transduction and RNA tech, why aren't people doing it? Why aren't we doing it? Are people not motivated enough to save their loved ones? How is it someone can know what they have to do to save them and simply look at that mountain and choose to not climb it because of it seems so high

in the end, humanity progresses because people die and new generations with no stake in the previous nonsense are allowed to flourish. no biological death will probably hasten humanity's extinction.

The tech to stop or reverse aging does not exist yet. Slow down? Yes, but it is crude as hell and no proper "medicine" has been developed so far. However, a lot of money has been pumped into aging research in the last 10 years and every year we get more and more because boomers are scared.
Why is it not here yet? Well, there isn't even a proper fucking definition of aging and we aren't even 100% sure what causes it. Only in the last few years, have we started to really understand why living healthy makes you live longer. So there is a long way to go

Low hanging fruit. People around the world aren't in general dying in ways where our first line of action should be cell rejuvenation and whatever "RNA tech" is. 99.99 of all people die from stuff we can relieve or mitigate in cheaper and easier ways. Cell degradation and protein expression are not the limiting factors. Simple shit like excercise and diet and just plain getting enough natural sunlight are the biggest factor.
In the healthcare industry we use a unit called a QALY.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quality-adjusted_life_year#:~:text=The%20quality-adjusted%20life%20year,one%20year%20in%20perfect%20health.

Basically we need to decide where to invest ressources to attain maximum QALY. People who says you can't put a price on a life might be right from a philosophical standpoint but in my line of work we don't have the luxury of thinking like that. We have a limited budget and if we spend 50mil on curing children with severe cystic fibrosis we might "buy" 800 QALY in total which equals 8 human lives, but if we spend 50 mil on something boring and unsexy like therapy and courses for drug addicts we might buy 80.000 QALY amounting to 800 lives.

Life extension is like this except is way less impactful. We should use our ressources where we can make the biggest impact and life extension popsci memeshit is not it.

The covid vaccine was a massive test of that exact technology, using multiple different batches to see if any of them would produce the desired result. Most of them will probably just give you cancer, but if that's what it takes for aging billionaires to achieve immortality then that's a sacrifice they're willing to make.

The hardest choices require the strongest wills. Sorry faggot, but a bright bubbly little blonde haired blue eyed kid is more prone to make me smile than a wrinkly babbling old person who thinks jews are just so darn neat. Life must go on, the old must die and the young must be born to take their places. It is eternal, we must never stop.

Question to any medfags. What's the best diy antibiotic for open wounds?
I cut myself badly and went to the hospital and they sent me home with some expensive petrolatum primary gauze pads that listed only silver ions as the only antimicrobial agent. I swapped em out only once every week but I experienced not even a hint of infection despite the wound being constantly enclosed for 1 week at the time. I was pretty amazed at their effectiveness. After the ordeal I wanted to stock some for my FA kit at work (I don't want the next poor bastard that cuts himself to have to peel gauze that's fused with a wound off over a 3 hour long soak/peel/soak torture session) and they cost fucking 120 dollars a pop... Per single pad. It's just sterile gauze, petrolatum and I guess a silver cation compound of some sort? Can't I just make some myself, vacuum seal them like I do food and autoclave them in my pressure cooker to sterilise them? The appeal of silver gauze rather than some type of penicillin is that I would think their shelf-life is unlimited as long as I keep them out of sunlight?
>>
>>54698311
bacitracin or neosporin
>>
>>54687213
Is that saline bag keto-friendly?
>>
>>54698334
Yeah, but if I want to premake some antibiotic petrolatum gauze pads I'm thinking this is the way to proceed: sterilise all components->Mix up my antibiotic petrolatum,->soak gauze generously->package pads individually in vacuum sealed bags->throw satchets in pressure cooker at 30 psi (120 c')->hey presto; sterilised antimicrobial primary wound contact pads. Doesn't bacitracin and neospirin break down at 120 c? I mean, I thought penicillin was generally not that stable of a molecule family? I couldn't find any info on it so I'm just guessing here based on my brainlet assumption that complex organics (peptide bonds, hydrogen bonds)= not very stable and inorganic compounds (ionic bonds, covalent bonds) = stronk chad chemicals. Can I autoclave bacitracin/neospirin without degredation? And if I cannot, is there any kind of wound topical antimicrobial that would work?

Sorry for the questions. I would experiment on myself but apparently I'm considered the "doctor" at work due to assisting a few times someone hurt themselves so I'd rather not take any chances on people that aren't myself.
