...or you can get it free, converted to slightly better graphics of Rogue Spear, and combined with Rogue Spear and all the expansion packs in one giant campaign.
And it also runs on modern systems.

If you enjoy mindlessly fucking around with firearms there really isn't a VR game out there that has guns as detailed as H3, of which it has of ton of. Most of the scenarios in the game are sandbox-orintated but it comes packaged with a few minigames as well if you want something that shoots back at you. It also has a decently-sized modding community if you get bored with the base game but you can easily squeeze out a hundred hours playing vanilla.

For all the oldfags, Rainbow Six Black Ops is an overhaul mod that makes the original work on modern computers (with some graphic glitches, of course), with TONS of content and the same feel of snap shooting room clearing and tension. And about 7ish pixels in total, but who gives a shit.
MP5SD go prrrt

I guess I got old, I spent countless hours on R6 and Rogue Spear, loved them and redid some maps a hundred times but now I just can't beat any map in any mode
>>
Good to finally see one of these threads. How are Enlisted, War Thunder, and Hell Let Loose? The first two look okay but they’re both apparently very grindy and are made by the same developers. Hell Let Loose on the other hand looks much better graphically and has a lot of cool details like how when a tank shoots nearby you it basically makes you deaf for like ten seconds.
As for me, I’ve been playing Arma Reforger. Good looking game but the devs desperately need to get their heads out of their asses and fix the constant fucking crashing and disconnecting, as well as adding singleplayer content. For now, Conflict mode solo is enough fun for me. It has a cool STALKER vibe to it even though everyone is wearing military uniforms. Just wish the fucking game didn’t crash so much
>>54122573

>>
>>54122711

>>
I’ve been playing Ready or Not with mods. Though the mods are mostly maps and an additional mags mod so I can at least get seven total rifle mags.
>>
>>54122725
The AI spawn randomizer is quite unforgiving, especially if you crank up the total hostiles number, Ive had tangos spawn in a room I just cleared. I mostly ever play lone wolf, so a suppressed long gun is my main go-to. Unsuppressed creates a lot of chaos and a dozen enemies rushing you. Where one shot equals one kill, it is not the time to play Rambo with an Ultimax. Or maybe it is. I never use sidearms as there is no time to switch and aim like in modern vidya- At any rate, lone wolf with 35 tangos is not a time to equip a pump action shotgun.
>>
>>54121141
Supposedly thats what the metro devs want their next game to have. A multiplayer mode (developed with its own dedicated team, to not take away from single player development) with a lot of players.

Going for a terrorist hunt in a vietcong village with anything less than full armor and machine guns is suicide because of the spawn rates. They might not spawn behind you, but they will keep rushing in from the same area in waves, add some smoke grenades into the fuckery and g2g. Best make two teams and keep the spawn points on lock, then lest the newly spawneds rush into the sound of gunfire.

Yeah the storyline missions are really well done, especially fun as co-op. The spawns are set by map progression triggers, so the placement is logical. But the terrorist hunt missions have a case of the bad spawns. I think the Villa map is the worst of them, if you add enough enemies on a challenging difficulty they all alert and just run down two staircases to your starting point and mob you until they die in a pile.

Anon, why are you stalking me?
>>
>>54120503

An anon on /v/ keyed me into Rainbow Six Black Ops which is R6, Eagle Watch, Rogue Spear, Urban Ops, Covert Ops, Black Thorn, and the special Korea only mission pack all combined into one giant campaign, fixed for windows 10 and running on the latest build of the rogue spear engine. moddb + Black Ops 2.0

I have found some jank though in the original R6 missions where some of the floor surfaces didn't import correctly or something. Had a terrible problem with dudes falling through the floors of stairwells for some reason. Other than that its way less of a hassle than getting the original games to run on modern hardware.

Though don't even bother trying the vanilla version. It's a jank buggy mess and you will lose more time to crashes than the games difficulty. And it is a difficult game. You can legit soft lock yourself late game if you're not careful
>>
>>54128183
I would actually encourage anon try High Calibre first, but modded. If they get it on Steam, there's a beta branch that has the Community Patch + Blue Sun Mod preinstalled, so you can just get that. You can also install Mercapocalypse 2 on top of that. My first playthrough was like that and I highly enjoyed it

I feel like starting with Hard Life is probably too overwhelming for most people, because it adds a lot of stuff to an already complex game

>War Thunder,
Can't recommend it. Usually it is pretty fun in the early game but it gets exponentially grinder. By that point you've been hooked and keep playing the game and ruining your sanity. Save yourself the trouble.

>Enlisted
I played it back when it first released and it was really fun. Don't know about it anymore. Was great when everyone was running around with rifles and the occasional SMG but got stale quick when you fought nothing but packs of guys with MGs. It got super grindy as well.

>Hell Let Loose

>What have you been playing lately /k/?
Picked this up because the demo was fun enough, so far the game feels like a larp but it's not like it matters because the story is just dressing for the gameplay, but the gameplay itself is nothing special so far, the AI either runs at you or sits in a corner facing your last known location while calling you a bitch and both scenarios are pretty exploitable. Maybe some of the challenges that the achievements impose are interesting to play through but meh. I also played GTFO during the free weekend, the gameplay felt really good but the melee was jank and even though the stealth was interesting at first, it became pretty boring after a bit because it never really evolved much, wish some other game had its gunplay.
I was thinking of picking up Thunder Tier One in the summer sale since it's starting tomorrow, but the reviews are mostly negative, and the closest thing I have to a /k/ game on my wishlist is Möbius Front '83, which I do intend to pick up, I have Call to Arms and AC7 on my wishlist as well but I'm not too interested in picking up either this time around because I want to play other RTSs right now, and I want to go through the previous AC games first

I played Rogue Spear when I was a kid, and I thought that when your squadmates said "Tango down" that it meant the bad guys called themselves Tangos. I hate what was done to the Rainbow Six franchise. It used to be slow plan-based tactical shooter stuff. Now it's just Heresy.

Ground Branch is slow but getting better. Unfortunately, everything being worked on right now seems to be features and mechanics so don't go in expecting well crafted and memorable missions.
Ready or Not development actually picked up the pace and the coming patch is a big step for AI and such.
Plus I've always been a bigger fan of SWAT 3 compared to other tactical games so RoN fits better.

I've been playing SC for years, though not much this patch since it's been so fucked up after Invictus. It's actually a pretty damn cool game when it works. One of the more /k/ sci-fi things in terms of weapon and armor designs and some of the ships, too, and I like the "space Tarkov" direction they're going with the loot system and stuff. The upcoming Orison FPS event is gonna be really fun if they can get the next patch working well.

Just bought this game and trying to learn playing RTS(this is my first). Only played couple of hours but I like it even though I still haven't really got a grip on it. It's a mix between Men of War and unironically RO2. What is cool is that you can control a squad/group but also play a single soldier or even a tank.

>Digital Combat Simulator

Just been goofing around lately in DCS, which is quite fun but only played the Frogfoot Su-25 which I now find quite boring. I don't know if I should buy one aircraft with full fidelity or go for Flaming Cliff 3. Anyone can recommend what I should go for? I mostly interested in Air-to-Air combat.

>Hell Let Loose
>Squad
>RS2/RO2

This games I play regulary, can recommend them all. The only game that I play which isn't a /k/ related is Euro Truck Sim/American Truck Sim which I can highly recommend if you just want to play something comfy.

Honestly I'm still looking for a game that lets me fully embrace my autism when it comes to tinkering and messing with guns in first person
There was a mod for FO4 that let you craft and carry around a big tacticool backpack so you could change accessories/sights/barrels on the go and generally "get a better feel for the gun", but sadly it lacked proper animations and FO4 is a pretty fucking abhorrent game
I've heard of Tarkov and I assume it ticks all my boxes, but the MP aspect doesn't appeal to me and playing sandbox with a bunch of bots gets old really fast

>>54122573

in what fucking way. hlls gunplay is absolutely dogshit especially compared to ps. ps looks worse and doesnt run well but its gameplay is way better. in the odd 50 hours i played post scrotum i havent run into a single bug other than maybe 3 or 4 crashes.

>>
>>54147161
For the DCS question, depends on your autism. Do you want to learn a lot of complex systems and do you have a Hotas setup or are you Mouse + Keyboard? If you don’t have a hotas just buy FC3 when it goes on sale. If you do and you’re air to air oriented go with the baby plane F-18. If you really want to learn how to fly buy the Mig-21 when it’s on sale and play on Alpenwolf’s cold war server get gud then from there move up into the F-14 then Mirage 2000. If you start with the 18 it’s fly-by-wire handholding will ruin you for other aircraft, only buy it when you’re actually good at flying I.E able to kill in a server with the Mig-21.
>>
>>54147847
Easy, just follow the set up guide. Some copy and pasting, best thing is you can choose your own edition. Just buy the base cheapest edition and select EOD in the options.

Its great for me, no hackers and if the game crashes or freezes it just resets to before the raid it crashed on.

I have good memories of this game but the player base is pretty dead. There are like 2-3 vanilla servers and they only run the worst maps in the game with the worst game mode. (push)
It only promotes either brain dead camping of 2 choke points or suicidal zerg rushing and praying to God that you don't get blown up by the constant explosive spam that you can't possibly avoid.

I have great memories of playing on Embassy and Ministry and a bunch of other ones on Skirmish. There still were flaws but at least there was some breathing room for tactical play. There's zero of that with Push, but it seems that the rest of the community of this dead game prefers to play these brain dead corridor maps where you just camp one spot and get 70:5 kd in one match.

I would not recommend buying this game in 2022. I often reinstall this game, play it for one hour then I remember why I uninstalled it in the first place. Push is shit and if you don't already know every little spot where enemies are going to be camping/coming from, you're not gonna have a fun time, unless you enjoy BF3 metro style grind fests and getting kills and killed with random grenade spam. Just get Post Scriptum or Squad if you're looking for a semi-tactical experience. This game is dead, which is probably for the better.

Yup yup, been there done that, don't know how that one escaped my memory
While I loved all three games, I kinda disliked the overall gun designs of Exodus: they definitely fit the setting and feel of the game, but variety is basically non-existent and a lot of the iconic guns from the previous games got scrapped for no reason (game literally has 1 sniper and 1 shotty, so you don't even get to use the cool double barrel from the first game)

>>54148505
>I often reinstall this game, play it for one hour then I remember why I uninstalled it in the first place.
Literally me with that game
I'd also add that the RS2-esque commander they tried implementing is really fucking oppressive in some maps, so if either team has a far more capable commander spamming mortars at just the right time then the match is basically over
It doesn't help that some of the Push maps are small enough that a single strafe basically covers 70% of the areas where enemies are active, and that the chopper is guaranteed to get at least 5/6 kills before it's downed
Frankly whenever I reinstall I just stick to TDM to experience the gunplay and mess around with shottys, the actual game is way too infuriating
>>
>>54148867
The chopper is an autowin button if you have a real nolife autist commander. You spawn it at the right time and it will eliminate a whole wave of reinforcements with no chance to shoot back

Cataclysm: dark days ahead is quite a good fucking game with realistic gun mechanics for a rogue-like survival game
there obviously are limitations becouse it's a roguelike, but going on an expedition in my APC filled to the brim with 5.56 ammo belts, grenades, recoilless launchers and a .50 browning on the roof is something that always gets my dick hard

Forgot to add, Operation Flashpoint was also epic. Jezus released in 2001 im starting to get old.

It was hard as hell, you could walk for 20 minutes and just get shot from 3km lol. Also you could get shot in te legs and then you would just crawl around wounded in a open air map that is kilometers wide with no chance of a heathpack (because you have shot in the leg you dumb cunt, they dont fix you up in real life as well). The vehicle combat was insane good, way way ahead of its time. I shot a heli from the sky with a tank because i was on a incline hill using a sabot shells, still one of the most kino moments in a game so far xD

I feel like Door Kickers 2 might scratch the same itch of setting up a plan and seeing your guys run through it uninterrupted, see >>54123225
You can also play it without doing this and just planning small chunks ahead, pausing a lot if you want. Both styles are valid

I've been clearing out bunkers and caves around Hurston and looting all the space rocks I can find. Bunkers are a really good source of weapons and I've found like three of those rocket launcher so far. My inner tarkov player has me stealing all the accessories and magazines off of all the guns since we can only fit 2 guns on the backpack which is fucking lame because I swear that at least a few of those smg's can fit into a 100L

I've been rocking the Talon with twin AD4Bs. It fucks hard. Saving up for a prowler now

As jank as Arma 3 is, I'm not really looking forward to going back to generic European countryside. I hoped they would at least do something arctic, maybe set on not-Svalbard, or something Asian. I hope someone ports Tanoa into the new engine.
