Have Javelins and NLAWs really been making a difference? What is the main tank destroyer in this war (mud/desertion aside)?Most tank kill videos seem to be caused by artillery or STUGNA-P.
>>53556474Theres going to be more videos of Stugna and artillery destroying vehicles because you can pretty safely film that, just save the footage from the artillery spotting drone or have Misha pull out his phone and record the monitor for the Stugna. Less so for shit that involves direct exposure to what you're trying to kill like NLAWs and the couple Javelin videos we have gotten suck because it's such a long range platform that you just see a little speck explode in the distance.

>>53556474Stunga is an atgm, so I would count it among all atgm kills. Why, you ask? Well, the main killers of tanks historically have been artillery and tanks. So if that’s changed to the point where every squad of infantry dismounting from a bmp is capable of slotting 8-9 tanks, then maybe the tank as we know it will have to change drastically. It depends on whether the threat is atgm or drone guided artillery. We’ve seen the battleship replaced by the aircraft carrier, and we’ve seen the introduction of drones to both sides of every conflict since 2003. Marshall Mud will always be there. Atgms as an apex level threat are a new factor. Drone guided artillery means that non-integrated armies without air support (or even a fucking SEAD/DEAD doctrine as is Russia’s case) won’t be able to effectively field armor

>>53556474javelins etc serve a couple of distinct roles. a lot of the videos we're seeing are of them being used in ambushes by special forces, you can't exactly sneak a tank or howitzer into the rear lines. though maybe with russia you can, but it's harder than sneaking in an NLAW on a 4wd scooter.the other place where we're seeing them get used is to stop an armored push long enough to get the artillery involved. it's possible to hit tanks on the move with laser guided shells but they are expensive and comparitively rare, NLAW etc allow the infantry to stop the enemy armor for a few critical minutes while friendly artillery gets the bearing laid in and start firing and the minute or so it takes for the shells to arrive once they've left the tubes.

NLAWs “happy time” was the Kiev convoy days when Ukrainian irregulars were chewing apart Russian armor by the hundreds.The war has gotten much more static and long ranged, Stugnas seem to be preferred in these scenarios. We’ve also seen more javelin kill videos now, but my impression is Ukrainians view the javelin as a little too complicated to use.

It will probs be another month before they are ready to start entering combat. At that point Russia is going to increasingly find themselves at a numerical disadvantage
