Is this any good?
https://www.amazon.com/Howard-Leight-Honeywell-Amplification-Electronic/dp/B001T7QJ9O
I don’t want to fuck around with my hearing. What’s the best protection to buy?
>>
>>51654934
WHAT?
>>
I like my set, but sometimes it doesn't get a great seal because the earcups are so slim.

I have these. They’re bulky, so they do get pushed around by some awkward rifle stocks, breaking the seal, so I just use ear plugs and seat them correctly. Doubling up on ear protection is a great idea. Wish I did that when I went to concerts in my 20’s - that really fucked up my hearing.

Take it from old bastards- viciously protect your hearing and vision, and keep your back and legs strong old people complain about their back and knees all the time.

If you’re lucky enough to get old, make it not suck.

They're good, but buy them from anywhere else than Amazon unless you want to kill goyim.

lmao
Foamies will work better
>>
>>51654934
I have your pic related (or a very similar, older model), and it was worth the $40 I paid at the time (2016ish). I'd pay the $50 they are asking.
>>
they're good. don't forget to double up with foamies and keep the amplification turned up to 11 for max comfiness
>>
>>51655152
I wanted these but I decided to save up for the op core amp with the special ear plugs for passthrought, did I fuck up

3M PELTOR or nothing
>>
>>51654934
Unless you are living in poverty, don’t buy those el cheapo Impact Sports. They will barely stay on your head properly. I just bought these recently, and they work pretty well doubled up with foamies:

He uses it to snort Dillo Dust.

The $50 Peltors?
>>
>>51654934
Yes but only if you get the noisefighter gell cups to go with. If you're shooting indoors or sbrs with no can you should wear an in-ear protection as well ass muffs. Foamies or reusable.
>>
>>51654934
unless you shoot once a week at least, have the money where 200-500 wont put a dent in your spending money or have helmet and want to run coms Howard lites are basically the only thing you need, This is not a poorfag cope either the benefits granted by sordins or comtacs is beyond diminishing returns if you don't meet above criteria. Honestly 99.9999% people on /k/ are fine with Howard lites.

With some mods they are fine
First get gel cups
Second, open them up and stuff the empty spaces inside with foam, cause they are mostly hollow
>>
>>51655006
>They’re bulky
These are literally the least bulky headset around
>>
>>51654934
Impact Sports didn't work for me, even after getting gel cups they always had an open gap below my ear, like the bottoms would not hold tight against my head while the tops would.

Got sordins on a great sale and those don't have the issue at all

The interior cup shape isn't that different between the two so I have no idea what causes it.
>>
>>51656607
It is poorfag cope since you could just spend $100 more on Sordin sport earmuffs to get a +4 in NRR. You only get one pair of ears. If you can spend $500+ on a gun then you can spend $150 on good earpro.
>>51659108
I think the Sordins have better adjustment that hugs tighter to your head.
>>
What's the go to earpro that can be used with a helmet too? Ideally one gucci pair that can be used with or without my helmet on. It's an opscore bump

After comparing them just now I think the difference is where the hinges attach to the ear cups.

On the Howard Leights they attach to he upper half of the cup, while Sordins attach in the bottom half of the cup.

I think the Sordin hinge point makes much more sense, since the opening of your ear is also lower than center, thus having the hinge lower will place more force against it.

However, I also have a fucking large head, which may also play a role. If you are a craniumlet the Howard Leights may fit just fine and leave no gap.
>>
>>51659241
If you're using a helmet you're gonna be taking the ear cups off the headset and attaching then to the helmet.
>>
>>51659403
Is there any modular set that I can use with my helmet, or take off the helmet and use on a regular head band
>>
>>51655139
Tier 1 choice.
>>

I got some sordins. 100% best purchase I have made.

No, top of the line Comtacs only.

My set is 12 years old and I only replaced the batteries in October. I would advise getting the gel cups, but then you are good to go.

Walker razors with an Amazon aux headphone/ mic combo jack. $50

look for "neck band style example: https://www.lamnia.com/en/p/50927/hunting-and-shooting/sordin-supreme-pro-x-earmuffs-neckband-black-76302-x-02-s

i got some and I like them. are they better than class-5 plugs, hell the fuck no. I got them so i can hear the 'ding' shooting steel. I am old and already have the eeeeeeeeeeeeee so 22-25dbs of reduction from them is good enough for me. i recommend getting gel pads for them.

Literally the shit you find on aliexpress. Buy it there, save another 5 bucks, enjoy your shit hearing.

Nigga don't cheap out on safety!
>>
>>51654934
If the only thing you want is hearing protection, >>51655788 is right. $20 Peltors Optime 3 will have 34NRR. They're too bulky to shoot rifles, but other than that they're very comfy and you can't beat their protection rating. Perfect for indoor pistol shooting.

Electronic is very good for hunting and larping but they don't protect your hearing very well unless you double them up with earplugs.

>>51665475
I never had issue with gel cups from Amazon or AliExpress. They're an improvement over foam on all accounts, especially if you wear eyepro.

Guys i'm not kidding since a few days it sounds like someone is sending non-stop messages via morse code in my ear but he's not very good at morse code.
Short EEE sounds at random intervals.

It's like EEE....E.EEEE....EEEE.EEEEE....EE.EEEE.EE......EEEEE....E....EEE

Is this tinnitus? I thought tinnitus was a steady continuous tone?
