The reason the MPX is hot AIDS suppressed is that the gas system is so short so just about everything gets thrown back at you and the action. Opening up the gas port might help a bit but in the end you're just increasing the amount of shit coming back.

Why don't any PCCs use a gas-retarded blowback system like a P7? It would smooth out the operation vice straight blowback and it would be a lot easier to keep the hot bits away from the user's hands on a carbine than on a pistol.

Only ar gun I have is a 6933 colt. Comparing the roach mp5s to an obendorf gun is like a polish/Hungarian AK compared to an izhmash gun. A PSA anything is a consumer grade prop. The PSA guns the ptr guns are made for consumers not governments.

You don't own a single MP5, clone or otherwise, I'm guessing.
>>
>>51669668
The people who make these kind of posts are the same ones that get an SP5, slap a brace and a MRO on it, and then get into excited discussions over resale value.

Here's mine. I'm definitely maybe probably going to get the new magpul stock when it releases.

in terms of aesthetics, PCCs don't do it for me, not even mp5/sp5.

I live in a hole but came across a PTR MP5 clone at a pawn shop and fell in love. I want one but I know it's worthless without a brace and they seem to be sold out everywhere.

You know, it really feels like a fucking joke being a New York resident and having to look at all you people's guns.
I need a gun, /k/. And my wife needs to be able to shoot it. I figured 9mm is a place to start.
Are these any good?

I haven't shot one, but I hear people say good things about. Being from a non-cuck state I can't think of a better starting point so we'll go with the Ruger PC9.

Since you're buying for your wife also, keep in mind that it weighs almost 7lbs. I would get pic related without the mlok handguard since it won't be as front heavy. Also remove the black spacers I
marked in red to reduce the length of pull (lop). It might not seem like it would make much of a difference, but your wife will appreciate how much more handier it will be. It'll be easier for you to adjust to the
shorter lop than it will be for her to use it as is. Sorry for all of the assumptions in this post I was just guessing that your wife is probably not a big strong country girl and I didn't want you to regret
your first gun purchase.

If you ever want to buy anything for it always go in this order
ammo>mags>weapon light>red dot

Good 16" PCC for competition use?

The PTR MP5 clones interest me. What do they mean by “sear ready” on their site though?
>>
OP, .45 ACP or you're a shill.
>>
>>51675569
If you own a s&h or Flemming style sear you can install it and it will work.
>>
>>51675569
For some reason the imported ones need a receiver that's near impossible to convert full auto but PTR being US made doesn't need that and just needs the sear.
>>
>>51674485
Yeah my wife is 5'1", 100lbs. We're just married. She is supportive and interested though and wants to come shooting with me. Even wants to buy it for us as a wedding present.
Half our motivation is that should she ever be alone and threatened by someone bigger (just about everyone lol), she can at least try to shoot them.
As for moving, that's probably not in the cards. , I started a business, and shes starting year six at a good job. We're also buying my uncles house at zero down zero interest and it has an apartment we can rent, it seems all just too good to leave just so I can have better guns. (Trust me I've considered it).
Can I ask one more piece of advice... should it have a sling?

After this I'm thinking maybe a shotgun, or else deciding between paying an arm and a leg.for picrel or accepting the idea of having a mag welded permanently to the lower vs. A gun with badguy handles and using reloader tools to jam bullets
through the open bolt ten at a time.

Lurker anon here, looking at getting a KP9 this year.
Anything I should check for on receiving it? Most reviews I've read say QC is fine but never hurts to check.

I'm so ready to buy one but I'm waiting a month or two just to know if I really want it

Fixed mag *so Im allowed to have a gun with badguy handles*.

Check to make sure the rear sight and top rail are aligned and all the rivets are seated. It's a solid gun otherwise.

I get not being able to move you and I'm not really the guy to ask about NY complaint guns. Slings are great if you have a large property to shoot and in general are very handy to have. However, I don't think its super important for home defense tho /k/ may disagree with me on that after the Kyle Trial. A BFG sling isn't that expensive and you can use on several different guns though you may have to buy extra hardware.

A shotgun is a great second gun, but your wife will probably hate to shoot it. For around 200 you could get a maverick 88 or for something much nicer you could get a Benelli Supernova for around 500 avoid Turkish shotguns at all cost. I love my ARs but I don't know if its worth having it neutered like that. Maybe some of the upcoming Supreme Court cases will help alleviate some of the pain in your state, but I wouldn't get too hopeful about it.

>>51676465
Very cool, thanks. I have to be frank though, I'm still leaning toward the AK-V just because of the price and magazines, is the KP-9 that much better? I can't seem to trust PSA QC and customer service enough but sometimes I feel like I can't justify the extra dollhairs for the KP-9. FWIW, the KP-9 being a proper Vityaz clone isn't a major selling point for me, but knowing it takes standard furniture is nice too. But my understanding is the biggest difference between the two is that the KP9 has a heftier bolt, fits into the gas tube like a "guide rod" and is a bit softer shooting as a result.

Either ways I'm still getting a 9mm AK eventually I'm just eliminating any doubts left. I don't think I'll be disappointed with a KP9

then just stop having the poor mindset. You arent in a rush to get this gun and you arent in a rush to stock up on mags dude. Just buy them when you have enough money saved up, its really not that hard
>>
>>51679087
I ran out of beer so raided the wife's stash. Yeah I'm wrong handed, that was the only way for that sling to be usable. The brace works fine but I kinda regret it, will prob SBR it with a little bit of crime(jk feds).

Anybody have experience with the Kel Tec Sub 2000? Looking for a PCC for an elderly family member, so high magazine capacity and ease of use are high on my list. I have not used a PCC before so my knowledge is limited.

It's one of the worst shooting guns I've ever used. It is shocking how shit the recoil is on it, on top of how awful ergonomics are in general.

I'm a habitual overthinker which can turn into cutting corners now to pay more for it later, but you right. Thanks anon.

I love mine, but I guess not everyone has good luck with them. the a3 recoil system is really cool though. it's delayed blowback, but not. it's beautiful in it's simplicity.
>>
>>51658932
Cuz it’s like a thousand dollars more expensive and takes months longer.

You can buy a UMP-45 lower receiver, mags, bolt catch + pin on HKParts and total it would be less than like $1250

Just put a stock on it, stop complying.

KelTec sacrificed a bunch of things to get something that folds into the size of a briefcase, because KelTec, but it's a better proof of concept of something cool than it is a gun. However, it's cheap and if gramps is just going to use it in case of attempted nighttime diversity training, it'll work.

I think a Scorpion EVO is a better bet though, if you're willing to drop twice as much money and then even more on replacement parts to get rid of the 13lb (or whatever) trigger and wacky angled grip and such. It shoots much softer, you can put a dot on it, you can get mags as big as you want (I have a 60rd drum), and it doesn't feel stupid to hold.

>>51680385
>I think a Scorpion EVO is a better bet though
why do you hate this anon's grampa?

I took my very much nogunz ex-gf to the range, she'd never shot a gun in her life. By the time we left, she was punching holes in the X ring at 10yd 100% of the time with my EVO. No great accomplishment, but it is for your first time out and is probably good enough for HD usage.
She also didn't mind shooting it, whereas she was scared of the noise of my AR. She didn't mind the 10/22 or 22 Charger either, but those aren't a great choice for a HD gun.
