Can anyone recommend me a folding brace for a pic rail that doesn’t cost 200 fucking dollars? Do brace cucks seriously spend this much money on a stock????
>>
>>51191993
>Get this
>https://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/stock-parts/stock-hardware/adapter/side-folder-with-buffer-tube-adaptor-prod140257.aspx
Now you can put your $10 nobrand brace on your FM-15
>>
>>51192105
>he knew I’m buying the fm-15
>>
>>51192105
Does nobody make any cheaper folding braces then? Buffer tubes are pretty gay, I’d rather have one that’s a lot thinner and lower profile; otherwise I’ll just keep the regular buffer tube on my lower
>>
>>51192157
No, folding braces cost more than folding stocks and are never on sale because they're in high demand. I say keep the buffer tube, had a Sig minimalist stock on my sbr and ended up selling it and just getting their folding m4 stock. Cheek welds are uncomfortable with the thin stocks, and the aesthetic is not worth it
>>
>>51191993
Just go with Jmac's they've been in the game for a hot minute since they cater to AKs and other guns that aren't AR15s. Yes they're expensive, but their shit are made out steel not aluminum and only cost 40$ more than a MI Folding and Tube which is made out of soft aluminium.
>>51192215
You got it the opposite. There is no demand so they have to keep prices high to make a profit, a practice I despise but must accept.
>>
>>51192258
Have you ever messed with these?
Still 200 fucking dollars (good god what the fuck) but they seem like a good compromise between a low profile and comfort to me

>>
If you get a folder without a button it'll be a pain in the ass to fold. Haven't had one yet that actually folds like you should without having to smack it from underneath.
>>
>>51192288
>>51192310
It’s for a practical home defense gun, it just doesn’t make any sense to get thrown in jail for 10 years on a legally justified self defense shooting because of an illegally configured rifle. Otherwise I agree with you 1000%, bracecucks are retarded, and now I know that they’re horrible with money too
>>
Does anyone make an underfolder stock or brace for an AR? Would be pretty neat
>>
>>51192328
>It’s for a practical home defense gun, it just doesn’t make any sense to get thrown in jail for 10 years on a legally justified self defense shooting because of an illegally configured rifle.

Just take the stock off before you show the cops the rifle you idiot
>>
>>51192353
If I buy a stock for the pic rail adapter and this is the only gun I own with a pic rail adapter I’m sure they can connect the dots. It’s also pretty retarded to need to remember to take your stock off after being shaken up from a self defense shooting, if they’re this expensive I’m just not going to put a stock on it, I wouldn’t really need a stock for any shooting in my house anyway, my property isn’t particularly large
>>
>>51192391
The police wont search your house after you get robbed, and you wont get investigated by the fbi. If you leave your cocaine and black market schizo medication on the coffee table though they might consider coming back with a search warrant.
>>
>>51192514
But what if the AFT decides to remove my brace and put on some black stock??!!!
>>
>>51192391
well once the ATF rules that braces also make your gun an SBR its not going to matter either way. bare buffer or nothing if they get their way.
>>
>>51192535
This, don’t risk it OP. Ignore the retards who screech about not complying and then post their clone builds with braces on then
>>
>>51192514
>>51192535
>>51192551
You’re probably right desu, thanks for convincing me to never ever become a brace cuck. I’m just gonna make fun of them even more now that I know they spend 300 dollars (literally more money than a cuck stamp) on their faggy compliance
>>51192258
Hahahahaa you faggot
>>
>>51192297
Link me a steel folding brace or stock
>>
>>51192581
It probably wouldn’t be very difficult to fabricate a folding stock with some sheet steel and a welder, I wouldn’t be able to make the actual hinge though
>>
>>51192567
did you know that some cucks even PRE ORDER new braces that hit the market? you're a cuck whether you have a stamp or brace either way, but they spend EVEN MORE money to buy braces instead of just dropping the 200 on a stamp and having a real stock.

bracecucks are beyond saving at this point, its neofuddism

I'm undecided on buying a Beretta 92 or a PSA AR-9. They're both around the same price. In fact the PSA is a little cheaper actually. I don't really think I can CC either of them and I don't go outside to begin with. I am also a total amateur noguns

Get the 92. You could at least get a shoulder holster or an OWB and wear a large coat in the winter time. I've seen more than one pic online of PSA bolts literally snapping in half after 1500-2000 rounds. Waste of money. The Beretta will still be working 10K rounds from now. I bought an M9 earlier this year and its one of the best options for a DA/SA pistol on a budget. To test it out, I mixed in aluminum, steel, and brass ammo into several mags. Fed every single round without issue. I was really sleeping on these, only thing better about the CZ-75 I own is the trigger. I also own an East German Makarov, couple Glawcks, a .40 P320, and a P226 MK. 25 but if I could only pick one pistol to own, it'd be an M9 or 92fs.

Cope retard. It is not fine, almost all of the most serious malfunctions I see online are PSA poverty ponies. At least Ruger and M&P ARs work without breaking. I bought an M&P used for $550 in 2019 and put a thousand rounds through it with no issues, still sold it because I have better guns now. PSA parts would have started breaking around 1,000 rounds

That folder ended up not working out so I'm going to try again with something else. For now this will have to do.
>>
>>51193836
Why? The longer gun makes more sense. Beretta is overpriced
>>
>>51192342
Not that I know of. Would be difficult to work with due to the buffer tube. Even the ones that fold to the side render the gun operable only as a single shot (or shouldn't be fired at all) when folded.
>>51192809
I'd get the Beretta 92 anyway. You might not want to CC for most of the time but you really don't know what crazy situation can happen where you might need to. Can't really CC most rifles.
If you are going to only own one gun start with a pistol. It's the most valuable defense/SHTF gun most average people can own.
>>51193434
Brass deflector.
>>51193471
Sure, but it won't save any significant weight and will look ugly. Plus grinding off the FA will leave a big hole in the side of your receiver.
>>51194452
PCC doesn't give you much over a pistol, but can't be concealed effectively. If you are getting a rifle might as well get it in a rifle caliber to get more out of it.
>>
>>51194645
But pccs are cyberpunk...
Why can't we get a mostly polymer bullpup full length pcc with a massive magazine. Electric primers.
>>
>>51194452
Are you fucking serious? I've seen the 92fs brand new for like $600-650 before and used they can be had for $400-500. You're full of shit. A fucking Glock is almost the same price if not a little higher if its a Gen 5. Get off this board noguns
>>
Roughly how much ammo should I have and what's the best ratio of bullets/mags?
>>
>>51194749
Shut the fuck up bitch. The new 92s are worthless qc wise. Rusted barrels. Plastic parts. You're a bitch. I'd rather a CZ. Beretta sucks cock except maybe the apx or px4 if you get them cheap.
I'd rather a cz p10c or sig m18
>>
When will the Russian ammo become unavailable? I probably shouldn't have panic bought but when is it exactly? Some say current importers are good to go for another 2 years?
>>
Does any company make a side by side pump action? Where the tube mag is actually to the side of the barrel instead of under
>>
>>51193371
>>51193378
Intriguing. What are the prerequisites of a brace? Could I just weld an L or a triangle that attaches to the 1913 rail and add a strap near the back?
>>
>>51191993
You don't want to pay for a tax stamp? Then pay for the fucking products that solve your problem. Or buy some airsoft shit. You get what you pay for.
>>
>>51194694
PCCs are kind of a niche nowadays because intermediate caliber semi auto rifles can do more without much of a downside. A PCC can have less noise indoors and is shootable at indoor ranges that don't allow rifle calibers, they also make good suppressor hosts.

I think if you have a collection of different guns it makes sense to add a PCC to the mix just for variety and fun, but if it's a small number of mostly functional guns it's a poor choice compared to a proper rifle.
>Why no bullpup.
There's a pretty good bullpup kit for Hi-Point carbines. At least it's good looking. Very cyberpunk. I think you'd enjoy it. All told it's not very expensive either.
>Electric primers.
I don't see how that limits anything.
They aren't a great idea anyway. Regular primers work very well.
>>51194774
For any gun you intend to use in a disaster it's a good idea to have at least 100rds of the good stuff on tap, with 500-1000rds of decent quality FMJ in reserve and a generous pool of practice ammo on top of that. If it's a meme gun in an oddball caliber that is expensive then a couple hundred is fine.
For magazines, if it's a primary rifle or pistol that you will be shooting a lot and relying on about 10 magazines is good. If the magazines are cheap (like G3 mags which cost $4 each) get a fuckload more because there's no reason not to.
If it's a special snowflake gun with expensive unicorn magazines than 2 or 3 is fine, but only if it's a fun gun/part of the collection you don't plan on relying on.

Overall it's also good practice to stack deep when it's cheap. For instance when K31s we're $300 some people only bought a few rounds of the excellent surplus GP11 7.5mm Swiss because it wasn't as cheap as 7.62x54mmR, but they're kicking themselves now and everyone who bought cases of that Swiss ammo at 50cpr is laughing all the way to the range.
>>
>>51195100
It will dwindle as the import permits gradually expire. Besides which Slav calibers are also made by countries other than Russia, and increasingly the other European countries are stepping up production to fill demand. The loss of Russian ammo is a bad thing and the alternatives won't be as cheap or available in the same volume, but it's not like 7.62x39 will become $5/Rd unobtanium. Same for 7.62x54mmR and 9x18, although I'd be a bit worried about 5.45mm since not a lot of alternative manufacturers have stepped up yet (there are some, just not a lot).
>>51195215
No. Sounds like a dumb idea. There is a Russian pump forward shotgun that has a tube above the barrel though.
>>
>>51195706
Yeah but when will it go up. Here's me concern specifically wumbo. I will be very tight financially for 6mo-1 year then I'll be straightened out and can buy what I want. I wanted to go buy 5k rounds of tula and a WBP AK but I can't do it right now. Will I be able to get cheap ammo in a year or so? I saw 7.62 for .30cpr today and I am stressing out that I'll miss the boat. Literally.
>>
>>51196099
It's impossible to tell for sure. Could stay the same, go up, or even down, or sideways as far as anyone knows.
Safest bet is to buy some now if the current price is acceptable to you. 1k isn't 5, but it is better than nothing.

Am I being retarded if I buy this with the stealth arms jig addon? Buying the parts+frame+jig+possible decking jig all separately brings the total pretty close to or even above what this set would cost anyways and I'll end up with a gun without the cerakote or being able to buy from a single source. BP has significant technological disadvantages in comparison to firearms that use a self contained metallic cartridge. For instance reloading in combat is not really viable and if it's a revolver you can encounter a cap jam.

It's worth the effort to face your fears however briefly to go to a gun store and purchase something more modern. If you still really don't want to, then order an 80% Glock frame and make your own handgun.

Is there a book or video that teaches good dry fire exercises? I have a laserlyte kit but don't know any drills or what else I can do with it other than setting it up in random areas of the house and shooting it.

How come very few long guns are made of polymer (g36, p90 and famas come to mind) but most aren't, including newer designs? Was it a bad choice?
Also, how do they work? Do they have an actual metal receiver inside the plastic? If so, they are just adding unnecessary weight by having polymer covering the receiver?
>>
>>51200990
I was talking about military"-style" rifles, I guess there are many hunting rifles with polymer furniture but it's not quite the same
>>
>>51200842
i see, thats pretty much what i suspected... gonna go with cleaning it from time to time then
>>
>>51200990
Because the majority of guns in use today are holdovers from the cold war before polymer guns became a serious thing and no one wants to pay the money to replace them or deviate too much from their design when building variants because of inertia and parts/controls meant for metal guns.
>>
>>51192551
They are still gonna call your bare buffer rifle an SBR if it allows for an adjustable LOP like a standard carbine tube
>>
>>51192599
Imagine buying a stamp and having to inform the ATF whenever you wanna cross state lines with your SBR, when a brace does 95% of what a normal stock does.
Only thing it doesn’t do is let you bash people with it, but even then you probably could since there is still a tube
>>
>>51201107
I see, thanks.
>>
>>51200990
Yah it’s kinda dumb to attach a hot barrel to a polymer receiver.
Lots of guns use polymer lower receivers tho

Sig cross is basically the same thing but cheaper.
Main difference is Q takes SR25 mags and Cross takes AICS pmags. SR25's you can get with bigger capacities, AICS you can load longer COAL.

TL:DR start with glock 19 and see where it goes.
9mm polymer striker fired with trigger safety (glock and any similar guns)
Go to a store, get something that fits your hand well.
Ask to try IWB holster see if it prints/fits good with your body type and regular daytime wear. If its one gun make sure it works with lighter summer clothes too.
If your local store has a range try shooting it too, the smaller the gun generally speaking the more its going to recoil. Compacts/Sub compacts/Micro are going to feel and shoot different.

How to tell repro from original Luger mags? Caliber? Saw one, nickel plated, wood baseplate. No clue if original or not. $10. Worth the price? How much are they normally? I don't own a Luger and won't for years. However, I'd be fine owning some mags if I could get them for cheap. Looks almost like this triple k mag but with a black follower "button" on the side with concentric circles for texturing/grip. Very clean, similar to this one. Stiff as hell spring.
>>
>>51203609
Probably old, even if repro its fucking cheap.

That's what I was thinking. I'll be back to that guy to buy it. I mean, fuck me, $10 for a Luger mag? I paid more for a shitty Star BM mag.

If 2700fps is the minimum for tumbling, am I right in assuming that my 11.5 sbr won't be fast enough for 223 55gr? It seems like 5.56 can make the cutoff but 223 loads do not.

http://www.ballisticsbytheinch.com/223rifle.html
>>
>>51203831
What are you asking exactly?
Will it shoot and be relatively accurate yes
Does it have good terminal ballistics no
55gr m193 was made for 1:12 20" barrels
You probably have a 1:7 or 1:9 11 barrel just use a heavier round designed for your rifle like 62-77gr loadings.
>>
>>51203956
I have a 11.5 1:7 sbr, and I'm wondering if 223 55Gr rounds would still tumble at close distances. I know that m193 barely will <50-100 yards but was wondering if 223 would aswell since it tends to go a bit slower, since most of the cheap ammo I can find is 223 right now
>>
Bros I need to get at least 700 rounds of loose ammo sent to me but it looks like UPS makes it a huge pain. Should I just give up on it? It's not from a store it's from family. Anyone ever shipped ammo that wasn't in factory boxes? They say it needs to be in individual little boxes inside and I feel like it's too much of a pain and too much work to get the family member to do it correctly. Any ideas?

My old spring (right) is from 1997ish and bent and busted with an unknown amount of ammo through it, i've personally used about 300 rounds of .40 since i bought it at the pawn shop.
I can feel how sluggish the gun is and i can notice the time between the slide blowing back and resetting.
I got a new spring (left) and my gun jams every single shot, the spring is too fast and the flat noses of my .40 target ammo get stuck on the feeding ramp. It's so annoying i've gone back to the older spring.

Beretta bros are you supposed to be able to feel the slide going back and forth? I'm the only person i know with a 96 so nobody has been able to tell me if thats good or not.
>>
>>51204922
Still using the recoil buffer with the new spring?
If yes ditch it.
If no check out wolff springs see if they have a performance pack where you get like 6 different weight springs for cheap.
>>
>>51204966
oh yeah the recoil buffer might be it
>>
>>51204922
You shouldn't feel sluggishness in the slide like that.
If your rounds are nosediving, it might be because of the magazine.
Assuming the replacement spring is the right one for your gun, that is.
>>
>>51204922
pretty sure there was a thing about recoilspring guide rod compatibility for the 92. like if you had the old metal guide rod a new spring wouldnt work and you had to seek out a new oldstyle spring or just replace both spring and guiderod.
>>
>>51204997
Usually new springs dont play well with buffers, its happened to me on other guns never tried in beretta. Worth a try.
>>
>>51204922
how old are the mags and the springs in those mags?

I have a question about muzzle loaders. Can you like....just put anything in there? i wanna get one purely for fucking around. Im not sure how much much tomfoolery muzzle loaders can handle. Do u just buy ball projectile at the store? What about powder? can i theoretically pack a buncha .177 bbs on top of a powder charge and fire scatter shot??? Am i retarded?
>>
>>51205574
This. It's to prevent the trigger from being pulled accidentally from bumping into stuff.
Even with a pocket holster you should still ONLY have the gun in the pocket, both for accessibility and safety.
>>
>>51191993
just put a stock on it.
>>
>>51205584
>Im not sure how much much tomfoolery muzzle loaders can handle.

>Do u just buy ball projectile at the store?
Yes
>What about powder?
avoid the synthetic black powder havent ever heard anyone say good things about it.
>can i theoretically pack a buncha .177 bbs on top of a powder charge and fire scatter shot?
No, you need a wad between the powder and shot and a wad after to keep it from falling out.
>>
Gun?
>>
>>51205464
Cause I'm autistic about it. Want one like I had when I was in the Army. Like weight and feel and all that it's hard to find one in my size now. I've turned into a fat ass after becoming disabled and I seriously doubt a Xl long military issue will fit me. I have a few different surplus jackets from the 70's but they are large's and fit me at one point years ago so I'm spoiled and these modern ones in my size just dont feel right when I try them on.

Are muzzle loaders still manufactured? and if so, wouldnt the barrels be weaker than for projectile weapons given the anticipated lower chamber pressures? Whats the problem with synthetic black powder? as opposed to what? organic???
>>
>>51205745
Replace the receiver extension, give that commercial garbage away.
>>
>>51205747
>Are muzzle loaders still manufactured?
Yes quite alot actually and modern guns that operate closer to bolt actions as well.
>and if so, wouldnt the barrels be weaker than for projectile weapons given the anticipated lower chamber pressures?
possibly but they would be steel instead of iron lots more wiggle room.
>Whats the problem with synthetic black powder?
Supposed to be non corrosive, supposed to be easier to clean, supposed to burn the same. Doesn't
>as opposed to what? organic???
You should look up what its actually made out of.
but no synthetics is more random chemical compounds that act similar to black powder where as black powder is made using raw materials but modern processes as in they just buy industrial grade pre processed elements.
>>
>>51205779
That’s expensive though
>>
>>51206159
They're like $25 how much did your stock cost in comparison
>>
>>51205584
What the other guy said and NEVER allow a gap between projectile and powder; apparently causes a big kaboom (your gun) due to pressure buildup before the projectile moves.
>>

Europoor noguns here, one paper away from gun permit (competition shooting). Since I seem to have incredible issues disassembling semi-autos, I'm been thinking about getting a revolver. However, reputable arms dealers are far and between so I am limited to these choices:
Ruger GP100
Manurhin MR73
a bunch of those Czech Alfa Steel/Proj revolvers

I already hit 90/100 at 15m (~16 yards) with any 6in rental and will move up to 25m (~27.3 yards) soon so I'm not sure if going cheap with an Alfa Proj is a good idea. The Manurhin is one of the later releases, which I heard doesn't quite measure up to their legendary reputation of the older ones.
What do I get?

Has anyone ever come across parts for an enfield/encom USA mp45?

I got one in Georgia about 7 years ago at the back of a Wendy’s from a b/s/t blog and it’s just the stock gun without extended barrel or wire stock. I know only about 5k of them were manufactured before the bankruptcy but it’s a nostalgic piece and I’ve been thinking of upgrading it. Any help / contact would be appreciated.

What's the worst that will happen if I substitute CCI 300s in place of 350s for .50AE loads? Manual says I can use them for alliant 2400 and viht N110, but all I have is H110 and IMR 4227.

What's the best way to finish a bead blasted aluminum handgun frame? I know I can always just pay a few dollars and get it cerakoted but I'd like to do as much DIY as possible since it's already an 80% build. I'm looking at electroplating since it looks easy and cheap enough. Either just nickel or copper+zinc+heat to make a brass coating.
I don't know if I want to go the extra mile and anodize or cerakote it myself despite both options looking amazing.
Or I'll just be really lazy and blast it with paint and sealer.
