Dunno about the big pouch I'm assuming he puts the drum in there. Could maybe try a 200 round SAW pouch

I have very little in the way of sustainment gear all I’ve got is an LBT 3 day

can someone please help a humble retard out and tell me exactly what I need to buy so I don’t get kilt in the streets of dysentery
>>
>>51181964
Just get a USGI fleece beanie cap or a normie one at store. Will keep your head plenty warm.
>>
>>51182542
Get a 60L+ rucksack. Sustainment gear mostly goes in that with a smaller amount going into your assault bag when need be. Sleeping bag, sleeping pad, water filter, extra water, extra food, water proofing gear/weather appropriate layers, are pretty much what you'll need to start with.

>>51182690
Ushankas are comfy but don't work well with helmets.

Check out Outdoor Gear Review for general camping/long term stuff. Mostly, you need shelter and the ability to boil water.

You may have to buy the plate carrier and plates from different stores. I've bought Hesco's from Esstac and Hoplite's direct from based Hoplite. OP Tactical has a decent selection of carriers, but doesn't always stock armor. OffBase has Hesco's in stock.

you need to size yourself for plates first, then you simply select the carrier size based on that. It's not rocket appliances.

Pick plates according to what you need. Nobody can tell you what you need, judge your environment and what you'll be doing. Don't get a slickster. Rest of the carriers are fine, just depends again on what you're doing.

You can have a budget, but don't keep trying to jump on a sale. Armor and a PC needs to be quality. The banshee is made by Shellback, it's OK. If your budget is $1k for 2x setups you could do something like what I've listed below. But do some more research please. This anon is also helpful >>51186082 you need to define what you intend to do with it.

Hoplite Swimmer Cut Level IV 10x12 - $329

Check out Merrel MOAB II’s, its a boot but god fucking damn are they the most comfortable footwear I have ever owned. The pair I own is waterproof, like legit submerge your foot in a puddle and swirl it around and stay dry, but the tradeoff is your feet will sweat a little more. If youre doing serious hiking you should have extra socks anyways. In any case, I wear them all the time since theyre so comfy. Also wore them for hiking obviously, as well as a lot of paintball, and theyve held up with zero issues.

They also have a sneaker version if you want to be a little herb.
>>
>>51186953
I bought a pair of Salomon X Ultra lows which is basically a boot shoe. It still has the rock plate and everything else with the sole that makes a boot a boot, just not the ankle support. So it’s a lighter weight, more nimble choice of footwear for when I want to cover long distances for like a day hike or something. For backpacking I still use my Quests for the ankle support because the extra weight means I’m more likely to fuck up my ankles, but if I’m not carrying weight it’s nice to have lightweight footwear. If you’re really tough you can go all the way to trail runners, I think at this point most AT thru-hikers just use trail runners, but I feel too much of the trail under my feet when I wear trail runners so my feet get fatigued fairly quickly. But they’re going to be your lightest weight practical option, so if you’ve got tough feet and don’t get foot fatigue easily then go for it.

I wore through the soles in a pair of summer hiking IN 4 FUCKING MONTHS. Yes they are comfy. No they are not a fucking boot. Its a casual jogging shoe styled like a boot. They didnt suck while they were getting abraded to shit, but they did not last a bit. If you actually go /out/ in these expect them to last maybe 250-300 miles of hiking. They are toast after that. Maybe its worth the light weight and no "break in' period. IDK. Ive actually gone through two pair. Very meh on them at this point.
>>
atacs postan wheres my fellow chads at
>>
>>51187656
I had them and thought they were great. Started wearing them to work and they only lasted six months in a wet environment until the sole separated from the rest of the boot. Wont ever buy again. They're made for people who do 4 moderate sub10mile hikes a year. I moved to portland and every yuppie I see in town wears them for fashion.

my mepc is growing on me. I'm still not a huge fan of their take on 'modular placard with velcro everywhere wrapped in more velcro everywhere' idea. You can't get too creative without it feeling really gross and unstable, but I like their 3mag placard base (a lot) and I think just putting a full sized flap and wrapping it to the 3mag base will result in a decent placard.

That having been said, I kinda with I would've just got the mepc, shoulder pads, mag pouch for cummerbund, some tq sleeves, and slapped a haley d3crm on the front. DM's customer service is super bro tier and have had no problems with me sending back stuff I tried and didn't like. Big ups for that. The only fuck up I got from them was a tq sleeve didn't have hook velcro on one side of the flap and I sent it back to have it replaced no problem. Everything else I got from them has been super high quality.

>>51189217
The three mag pouch is to replace the two, again I'm not very sharp. I don't know if it would be better to keep the pistol magazines on the cumberbund or the front placard for ergonomics or to save the front placard for all rifle magazines, I'm just not sure
>>
>>51189184

>>
>>51185216
I was looking at a deal which I think looks good for 2 hesco special threat plates and a slickster plate carrier on offbase for about 400$ and was just wanting to look up the general consensus on these items.
>>
>>51189157
You should get a holster and a belt for that holster. Belt gear is just as important as a chest rig or plate carrier, in my opinion.
>>
>>51189334
Lucas has the L210s on sale
He also has 4601 level 4s for $900/pair which is a really good deal
>>
>>51189246
you should always, always prioritize your rifle over your pistol. it's far and away the superior weapon. so your best real estate should always go to supporting your rifle. as such, I'd go with a 3 mag placard for your ar mags on the front of your carrier (in your case, get an insert for your kangaroo pouch). I know soap had is pistol strapped to his plate carrier in mw2, but I don't think you should do it irl. that pistol needs to be reserved for a battle belt. I would also say don't put any pistol mags on your pc at all. that left cummerbund realestate is valuable too, I would use it for another rifle mag.

So in short, 3 ar mags on the front of your carrier (get a good insert for your kangaroo pouch, maybe get some of haley's kydex inserts if reindexing them is a bit hard...and you might need some magpuls to get them out of that kangaroo pouch easily), one rifle mag on your left cummerbund, no pistol mags. I'm assuming you don't have a rifle yet, which is cool we all start somewhere, but plan ahead I had a mayflower apc and tried to double up stuff on the front of the carrier and it felt like I was a pregnant woman, so maybe don't plan on loading too much up front until you play around a bit. that having been said, you might want a decent little admin pouch up there.
>>
>>51189355
also, I like the idea of the kangaroo pouch, but it's a little deep imo. when you put mags in there you'll see what I mean.
>>
>>51189355
This is pretty good advice but depending on your front placard you can definitely stick a pistol mag or two on there no problem.

For most situations, the main goal of your web gear should be feeding your main weapon. Which is ideally a long gun.

If you are absolutely dead broke then you can consider just slapping a dump pouch on a belt and wear the carrier slick-ish. When you eventually get proper pouches you can just shuffle stuff around. It's not a bad method and you'll want a dump pouch eventually anyway.

Do you own a Ferro Bison belt?
I don't own any of my gear but 'my' Bison belt I've been wearing for the last 4 months is a significant downgrade from tying string around your waist or mexican carrying. It's fucking garbage like everything that joke of a company Ferro Concepts has ever produced.
>the cobra buckle
sticks every fucking time you try to take off the belt
>the D ring
is too small to comfortably fit multiple carabiners and it twists/moves the whole belt buckle when you're clipped into anything e.g. a tiedown point or dragging something
>rigidity
Not even that rigid despite the fancy plastic. You could get the same effect by cutting strips off a plastic milk bottle and stapling it to some fabric.
>the molle webbing
the material is dangerously thin and I expect that my mag pouches will rip off at some point.
>the inner belt
it's the only good thing about the whole belt setup but only because it's just a thin strip of velcro which you can get anywhere
>all in all verdict on the Ferro Concepts Bison
1/10 it's a flaming pile of shit. The only reason why I haven't literally thrown it in the trash is because it's not mine it's issued equipment and it still works for now but it's going to die on me when I least want it to. You're unironically better off flushing $215 down the toilet and stuffing your magazines in your pockets.

I want to throw a pistol holster on my molle rigging so I can have an "all in one" setup that I can grab and take with me on short notice without needing to throw on a belt and shit too.
Anyone know of any companies that make good holsters that can go on molle?

You can't.

There is no suit of armor in the human record that has a dick flap in front, because it robs you of energy every time you take a step. The only exception is a suit of armor from Mycenaean Greece intended for (we think) chariot fighting. Everybody else has -- well, this illo does as good a job of explaining it as any. Sawing the dick plate in half and letting them dangle from the plate carrier like tassets would be an improvement, except that the military industrial complex is fucking retarded.

Here endeth the sermon. Get rid of that shit.

They're okay, I've had 4 pairs over the years and in in my 5th now for two reasons really: they're cheap boots that are still some what decent on quality, and they come broken in out of the box imo.

With that being said 3 out of the 4 pairs have all had a similar issue were the gortex "sock" would eventually fail on either boot but always on this inside of the toe box by the big toe. Secondly the outsole while very grippy and some what flexible is very soft and as another anon has said will not last. Also eventually the outsole will eventually seperate from the rest of the boot if it gets wet enough consistently enough.
Theyrengreat cheap hiking boots though that will do the job for light day hikes on casual to intermediate level stuff, they're decent landscaping/hardscaping boots that will last all summer but have a pair of asics training shoes I prefer over the moabs... sorry for the blog post but there you go

BLACK FRIDAY HELP REQUESTED!

Been looking for a light-ish belt to pair with my mepc. Will only have a sidearm (g19), and 3 mags (2 pistol/one rifle or 2 rifle/one pistol, and a dump pouch. Ideally a belt I could slap on regular clothes, so no 2in. inner belt requirement.
Been looking for a belt today.
Was looking at:
Ronin TF (don't like the mandatory 2in. inner belt you have to order with it and lol is it ever thicc)
Tyr Tactical (strongly considering)
Blue Alpha Gear (worried about running into compatibility with mounting some items...not sure if this is a big deal. will velcro one-wraps be as secure as malice clips?)
AWS SMU (what I'm prob going to buy).

any insight from people who've used these belts?

for fuck's sake, watch some videos or just ask more questions here. A placard is (usually) 3x mag pouches that attach with quick clips and velcro to the front of the PC. You can also get ones in 4x mags or you can use a chest rig as a placard and have more GP pouches. Since most PC's velcro closed, the placard flips up out of the way when you put it on and then goes over the velcro.

>>51197181

I have the ronin TF belt. You dont necessarily need to use the inner velcro belt unless you plan on doing a lot of sprinting/ jumping/ crawling/ attaching a personal retention lanyard.

I like it because even if im wearing sweatpants or jeans with a regular belt, I can very quickly just throw the belt on and the velcro hooks on the inside keep it secure enough.

As for the belt I love it, incredibly sturdy, somewhat low profile and very light weight. It looks really cool too.

Slickster vs mepc vs spiritus?
>>
>>51203514
The mepc is probably the best. It's a slickster you can put shit on without spending another 200 bux, and the qd cummerbund options they have are cool. Spiritus is kind of annoying with their buy everything piece by piece schtick. I understand the concept but mepc + bund + whatever placard from whichever brand you like is a easy and good to go.
>>
Are there any lense covers I could use to make an existing LED light (Rien) shine IR? I am capable of jury rigging something if I know what kind of lense would work.
>>
>>51203602
Fair enough. Primarily trying to justify the mepc over the slickster due to sales. Are there any other carriers in this price point I should be looking at? Would the mepc function alright as a slick if needed?
>>
>>51202910
Then buy/use one
>>
>>51203653
Low profile is a meme with hard plates, if you want concealable a soft vest is the way. Any pc can be slick if you dont put shit on it, but it's much harder to add stuff to a pc that doesnt have attachment points inherently. I have a velocity lwpc from op tac that is really nice, but the bund it came with is not qd and I dont really want to buy a whole new one. It's not a deal breaker but having to screw with the velcro for putting it on and taking it off sucks.

The only thing I don't care for are the straps. They're low profile and all, but the are too narrow around the head (you'll see what I mean when you put it on the first time). And the adjustment on them is a pain in the ass. It also isn't great for weight dispersion, but not terrible either. if you haven't picked up their padded cablemanagement shoulder sleeves...pick them out rn. Hope you got the qd hybrid cummerbund btw, it's great.

I got their small direct injury case and it was way too small for some of the stuff I got (bought 6in. etd like a tard) so went with a large but as you can see from the pics, the thing is fuckhuge. So I swapped out some ifak gear and am going back to a small with their fanny pack system. I'm keeping the large case to sore nv in eventually (they make a padded insert for that purpose).

I got their 3mag placard base, which I really like. I first tried to put a half zipper admin pouch and 2x placard tqs on top of it and wrap it in a molle pouch but it was...messy. It never felt stable...felt and looked really slapdash. Constantly made velcro noises...it's just not a great system. I sent all that back for a refund (no hassles from DM's customer service) and am trying a full admin pouch and wrapped with a velcro placard wrap. I think it'll be much more stable and really functional. I got 2 of their tq sleeves and they're secure and all...bu tone didn't have hook velcro on it, again, sent it back no issues. This is the only mistake i've seen them make, everything they put out is perfect other than that - it happens.

I also got their ar mag for my cummerbund and it's great. really secure, good retention without being overkill.

so yah, I'll have their 3mag placard with a full admin pouch on top of it secured with a velcro placard wrap. 2x tourniquet sleeves, one dangling below the carrier, one to the right of the placard (leaving the left open for a radio pouch when I get to that point), 1x ar mag on left cummerbund. small direct injury pouch with their fanny pack strap. I'm sure this will be a good setup, but I think you can do a bit better buying something like the robber's chest rig or haley's rig and slapping it on your mepc. and picking up a fanny pack like the spiritus one and just using that.

all that having been said, I'm going to stick with DM. The stuff is really well made, and though I think the modular placard velcro extravaganza idea is kind of a bust, their quality is great and they implement all the qol features you'd expect, mesh cummerbunds, nice breathable padding inside of bags, qd tubes, no buckles where you shoulder your rifle, great materials and stitching. I'll let ya'll know how their recondite bag is in a few weeks.

Thanks for the in-depth reply. This is going to be my first setup ever so I really appreciate it. Good to hear that they customer service seems pretty great. It seems like no company is capable of making a perfect all in one system so I'm not surprised about some of their stuff not being ideal. Good luck with your trial and error though! I'll be waiting
>>
>>51205968
Oh also, I went with the 3 inch elastic QD cummerbund did I fuck up?

>>51206028
yeah

you're thinking of the other DM shill. I have a dog.
>>
>>51206028
Should have gotten the 5" QD you can probably email them and ask to change since it won't ship right away anyways.
>>
fun fact. Tyr Tactical belt currently have a 90-120 day lead time. aws it is!
>>
I bought a Slickster, a HS D3CRX with Hanger, and set of SAPI plates today.

How bad did I fuck up? I impulse bought so badly.
>>
>>51206741
what plates?
>>
>>51206741
>shitster
shit meme plate carrier which is uncomfortable with anything heaver than $2000 plates
>the worst haley rig
D3CRX is too wide to integrate as a placard and the pistol mag pouches are just stupid the mayflower chest rigs are better options
>hanger
it's not 2019 nobody uses danglers anymore the dick plate was universally reviled and putting a pouch in that same space is just as annoying unless you're standing up
>SAPI plates
the plates was probably the only good thing you bought and that's if you got a recent revision
>>
>>51206741
so you got a big .308 rig..and are pairing it with a flimsy slickster? let me guess, you got lvl3+ 'tested to nij standards' plates.
>>
>>51206807
Hoplite plates. They were lighter than Hesco for the money.

>>51206826
God Damnit!!!
What the fuck are you serious about the Slickster? What if your plates are like 6.5lbs?

>>51206829
No I got lvlIV triple curve plates.
>>
>>51206868
If you got the 26605's, they are good and comfortable for being as heavy as they are. good buy.

but they are going to kill your shoulders in a slickster.
>>
is there a good guide for layering and what kind of "tactical" merino wool shit I can buy outside of socks?
>>
>>51207016
That’s what I got…

JFC is there any way to make them easier on the shoulders? Pads?
>>
>>51185519
+10 cool points for Buc-ee
>>
>>51207059
yah, padded sleeves will help, but minimalist carriers aren't made for weight dispersion, so it'll suck regardless.

better start doing shrugs, nigga, you're gonna need those traps toughened up.
>>
>>51207084
Shieeet if big traps fix it I’m Gucci.
I have a LBT 6094 but it’s in coyote. I bought the Slickster and HS rig in multiGay. Im assuming that the 6x6 side armor pockets for the Slickster are retarded to get right?
>>
>>51182119
Why do people buy these ugly fucking micro sights? Such a beautiful rifle and you go and ruin it with this hideous little chode of an optic. Shameful.
>>
>>51206868
Slickster is shit my dude. Like the other guy said >>51206826
Hayley's shit is too wide, Mayflower makes many different better placards.

Yea the fanny pack/dick pouch is /out/, 2019 called it wants it's dick pouch back. Try running with that in full kit.
>>
>>51207146
>Micro sights
They work pretty damn well and have excellent battery life
>>
>>51207152
Fuck fuck fuck. I’m so gd stupid. Like $350 down the drain.
>>
>>51207133
I would say that's retarded, yes. It's a minimalist, slick carrier, you dont' want to be carrying 20lbs of plates and 40lbs of gear on it.If you're wanting to go heavy, get a crye.
>>51207178
just cancel the order or send it back. worst case scenario is that you'll eat a 15% restocking fee.
>>
>>51207194
I probably should just use my LBT 6094. I just liked the idea of having a slick carrier for throwing on if I have to try to drive out of downtown. I live in a city that had riots in April 2020. They burned cars on my street(I have a parking garage). But ever since then I’ve been paranoid and want a kit to get out of town by car or fight my way out if I get caught and don’t leave ahead of time.
I’m across from a park and I watched the fucking antifa people gather, sit in their circles chanting sing song with a person on a megaphone and then get up and fucking torch shit.
>>
>>51207178
It's ok we all have learned/been there. Just research beforehand.
>>
>>51207291
I thought I had. The gd gear queens on here have Slicksters and GT on Jewtube says it’s the second fucking coming of carriers. He’s probably a gd shill and I got crypto Jewed. Hopefully they will cancel the order.
>>
>>51207273
if it's an anti-jogger vest, maybe keep something light and throw lvl3+s in it. keep the lbt (assuming its an old one before their qc went to shit) for big boi patroling or lugging around the lvl4s.
>>
>>51207364
nobody on here knows anything about gear except a small handful. GT is a glorified POG at this point and fucks trannies.

Rule of thumb is if it sounds like hype it probably is. Spook-tier oper8ers aren't gonna be capping mudslimes with the latest GUCCI fad carrier, they are using proven gear.
>>
>>51207381
Yes sir. It’s a 6094 from 2013 I think.

That’s a good idea. If they won’t cancel or charge a restocking fee I’ll wait for a deal on glorified pistol plates and run super lightweight on it. I really do need a second setup to throw over my old lady if we are fleeing the city. I can’t express to you all how quickly the fucking vermin gathered and how fast it was unsafe here when the riots got going. I keep a go bag in the front closet now. We are getting the fuck out the second it looks like they are going to riot again.
>>
>>51207388
So basically I need to just kit out my LBT 6094.
I have a triple mag pouch on it but I don’t know what else to put on it. I want a pouch up front to carry some shit and a led pack.
>>
>>51207420
if you're just worried about cultural enrichment, 3+'s will be fine, or 3++'s if you want to be fancy. blacks don't really know much about ballistics, nor dot hey care to learn. they'll either be rocking the shittiest, cheapest m193 out of a 7in. ar15 or 'dem green tips nigga'...out of a 9in. ar15.

If you're worried about feds or military, lvl 4's are necessary as m80a1's will rip right through lvl 3's and blast your organs out of your back.

mine came in this morning, and i can safely say this is going to be a very good winter coat for many years to come, cant wait for dead of winter
>>
>>51207484
Very happy for you. Enjoy your comfy new coat.

>>51207471
I’m just worried about getting my vehicle shot at while I flee a riot. Or if my garage is blocked and I have to leave on foot. This shit was a larp two years ago. Until I can get a new job and permanently leave this shit hole I want to get protected from the human debris that crawls out of the sewers to loot every chance they get.
>>
>>51207437
I can tell you what I have on my setup if that gives you ideas.

>up front
triple mag, shears, any other quick access items (TQ, chems, etc)

>left side
single mag pouch

>right side
small GP pouch

>top
PC has built in storage area, no need to add more bulk/bullshit. PID patch.

>rear
zip on utility backpack, hydration bladder, more medical if needed, extra ammo

>belt
everything else not listed, pistol/rifle second line, blowout kit, dump pouch, holster, grimlocks for holding random bullshit.

I try to put the least crap on my PC as possible for freedom of movement and less weight on shoulders if i can put it on my belt I will.
>>
>>51207538
What belt do you use?
>>
>>51207554
Blue Alpha Gear, but any of the standard 2 piece belts people make nowadays will do. Ronin tactics, Ferro Concepts, etc.

They make removing and quickly attaching them a lot easier. Most have a quick release buckle as well.

breddy gud. Don't listen to know-nothings on the internet. They like shitting on things because it comes with an air of superiority when they have no experience with whatever they're talking about.

Not M993, just M2AP. Still the lightest IV on the market.
