why dont they make a glock with the 42 slide but the frame is full size :D

>noguns shopping for first gun>want to try out a glock>every store is sold out of glockBuying a pistol is so hard man. Hopefully I find something I like on black friday
>>51180506None of the ranges in you area have them for rent? Most of the indoor ranges usually have a collection of rentals. Almost all of the ive been to have at least one Glock. You usually have to buy their ammo at their price though. Also have to buy their targets. But its worth it to make sure you like a particular gun.
Colt chads how much should I pay for a new Gen 3 SAA and what barrel length should I get?
Noguns here asking for opinions and advice.I'm looking for a 9mm pistol with some limitations due to where I live. I've shot a few thousand rounds through various guns over the last year or two, including Glock 17s with and without optics, CZ 75B and Tactical Sport Orange, Walther P99, and couple other random guns. Not surprisingly, TSO is the favorite out of those ones. The intended use is practical shooting and a range toy.So:>9mm>price under $3k>has to be optics ready out of the box; can't mill slide here>can't carry so I don't give a shit about gun being compact>no used guns, as market is extremely limitedA good trigger is key; I enjoy the light and crisp trigger of the CZ TSO.Something like a Shadow 2 seems like an obvious choice, but I'm looking for alternatives. LTT Beretta 92 Elite with RDO slide would also be what I'm looking for, but those are not available here and I can't import one, so no luck there. Also, I'm not ideologically opposed to striker fired guns, so if something like Walther Q5 Match SF, just to name one, is a good option, I'll go for it.pls respond
>>51180985Get an FK BRNO PSD and rock 4 calibers in one spacegun G, pretty much the slickest new pistol on the market
>>51180985isnt CZ reddit? and the shadow 2 is super reddit?
>>51180985If you like the CZ platform then get the shadow 2 OR and dump the money on ammo, R dot, and a light.
>>51180985I personally have a beretta 92x that I absolutely love. My dad has a Shadow 2, a Q4, and a Q5 and they're all great, but look man unless you're collecting or competing, you should save your money and focus on training with a reliable weapon instead. I'm not quite sure about your specific needs here because they seem somewhat impractical. If you can't carry then fine, but I've never been a fan of optics on handguns. A light/laser combo should be perfectly adequate for your considerations. I fucking love berettas so that's my preference, but if you can't get one, I'd probably just splurge on the Shadow 2 because it checks most of your boxes. I can't justify spending that much for something that isn't functionally better than a $600 handgun though, and if you're looking for home defense options I would gravitate more towards a shotgun/rifle anyway.
I wish I could try out red dots without having to buy one and a compatible pistol. I don't know if its right for me or not. guess ill stick with irons
lmao you were right about the hammer pins burt
>>51181223for the operational distance of a handgun there is literally no need for a red dot outside of it being cool and fun. Get good with irons and you'll be okay; lasers are fine too.
>>51181084I guess it is pretty Reddit, but what can you doEdit: thanks for the gold, kind stranger>>51181099That seems to be the sensible option
>>51181223You should rent out a gun from gangs or something. RDO is so much better than irons, so you owe it to yourself to try
>>51181314> rent from gangsRange*Don’t try to rent a gun from a gang member
Which sight is the front sight
>>51181339It's the one at the front
>>51181277Yes it does help a handgun be more accurate at range, but that isn't in anyway the primary benefit of a red dot. Threat-focused targeting is.
>>51181348Where the fuck is the front?
>>51181471It's at the front part of the gun.
>>51181489can you stop man
>>51181084>I am incapable of thinking for myself and think internet shit talking is a valid guide for my lifeBrainlet retard>>51180985If you liked the tso so much, why not get the tso? There are companies that make optic mounts that screw into the frame using the holes that are there for the thumbrest. If you're feeling up for drilling and tapping one hole, you can use any czechmate mount too.
tfw can't decide between a FN 509 MRD and a G19 MOS.The FN sounds nice straight OTB vice the Glock needing new sights etc. but literally every glocklike seems to have some weird con(s) to it that you don't get with the glock itself. Also fucking zero dealers here have a G19 MOS in stock, and it's like $200 more than the vanilla G19 to order for some damn reason. You'd think it was some super niche custom shit instead of a factory-produced model
Seriously what is the front sight on a pistol because i am seriously confused here
>>51181635Look at a gun. See where the front is? The front sight is on the top of it.
>>51181655Where the fuck is the front?
>>51181119He literally said it would be used for uspsa/ipsc style shooting and the range, but idiots like yourself do have the reading comprehension of a toddler.
>>51181605FN handguns suck even more than Glocks.
>>51181605If you like the mrd, then get it. It's pretty meh, but the glock is the embodiment of meh.
>>51181281The modlite looks pretty nice on it
>>51181659Ok, serious answer. Point the gun at yourself and then ask where the front is. That's how you find the front sight.
>>51181859but thats wrong actually. the front sight is the front of when you're holding it in your hand and aiming.
>>51180391he still uses sights on handguns
Will a 92X handle cheap steel case easy?
>>51181866No the front is where you're looking at it from the front.
>>51181909Like down the barrel? because thats the rear sight, because its in the rear when you're aiming
>>51181884I don't see why not.
I have a rugar PC carbine that has SR9 mags, but can also be switched over to glock mags. I know there's a lot of people who love glocks, so is there a good reason to go with that for a side arm over the SR9 in my situation? Outside of a star 9mm and an Lcp2, I only do rifles. So no known preference yet.
Are custom handguns still reliable in adverse conditions, or are looser tolerances better for reliability in the field?
>>51182282A Glock is the perfect handgun for someone who wants "a handgun" and has no other preferences.
>>51182405It depends. Custom handguns are made to the end user's preferences, and can be tuned so close to the ragged edge of reliability that they need to be lubed between strings of fire, or not. A semi-custom "duty" gun like a Wilson Combat 1911 will typically be biased toward the more reliable end of the spectrum.
>>51181687The only reason to go with glock over FN is for the aftermarket support. If you plan on modifying or getting light bearing holsters you’re better off going glock, but I’ll take a stock FNS9 over a stock G19 any day.
>>51180391how durable are the holosun pistol red dots? I am concerned that the insane G forces of being on a handgun slide will kill it. Has anyone ever had one die?
>>51182437Have fun priority overnighting your gun to South Carolina and back every 2000 rounds, fag.
If any Trijicon employees are lurking, can you guys hurry up and make some more SROs? I was gonna buy a 1moa on Black Friday, but they are hard to find for a reasonable price. I might just go with the chevron Holosun 507c from Primary Arms if you fags don't step it up.
>>51182478why can't trijicon just make an RMR that has a side-mounted battery? so im not losing zero all the time. I shouldn't have to choose between this and a fuckhuge SRO. Just make an RMR gen II.
>>51182517>why can't trijicon just make an RMR that has a side-mounted battery? They like sniffing their own farts because they know people will buy their products. Well, except for the RMRcc. Expect them to start crying to the feds again about Chinesium threatening their monopoly.
>>51180985I would not recommend the Q5 Steel Frame or FK PSD. Without knowing what else is available in your country and given the lack of LTT I'd say the Shadow 2 OR that you already know about.Do you have Staccato there?>>51181275Oh no, are they going ok? You can get them in with just the hammer face, no need to try to balance the punch on them until they're nearly all the way in. Or maybe not even then.WAIT! Oh no anon you forgot the DA hook that goes under the front pin!>>51182445VERY physically durable. Yeah Holosuns have died to recoil, so have every optic including RMRs, it's the nature of electronics. Holosun as far as I'm concerned is #2 for durability.
New holster. I like it.
>>51180391any new word on Cloud Defensive's pistol light??
>>51182405I follow some of the YouTube people that run schools for shooting and stuff. From what they've said the vast majority of handgun failures were heavily modified guns. Basically people running tricked out race guns in a dirty tactical course. Doing a trigger mod and an RMR shouldn't be a problem though. Also having a reputable gunsmith do the work helps. Avoid comps for adverse conditions.
>>51182405what an ugly ball cutWC is so overpriced
>>51182782Interesting. I want to get pic related, a Phoenix Fusion, for general use : competition/carry/larperating/hunting, but it's a very precisely machined pistol and I'm worried I might need to get a cheaper "duty" style gun for outdoors stuff. Burt what do you think? The Phoenix is basically the Sphinx from Kriss but the original Swiss manufacturer.and improved.
>>51182517There's always getting the Mailbox of Death
>>51182890Embrace the Box. Embrace the Future.
>>51182890>>51182908I was too much of a bitch to buy it. I thought it would be too big and protrude from my g17 slide. It's just too much bros.
>>51182864Are you crawling through mud all the time? Phoenix Fusion should be fine. Just keep care of it. Duty guns are meant for LEO/MIL that are going to hardly maintenance their guns and treat them like shit. I wouldn't hurt to have more than one gun though.
>>51182908My LTT has the RMR footprint so no.
>>51180506its a sign for you to get better taste in guns
>>51180391I want a Roland Special, should i get a Roland Special?
>>51182722I have not been able to find Staccato here, unfortunately. Some older STI models, sure, but all of them at or over $3k and they would still require milling for optics. All signs point towards Shadow 2, but I've been trying to look for alternatives. CZ availability is very good over here too.
>>51182864If the grip material in that gun is the same as in Sphinx (looks like it is), it really sucks. My hands don't even sweat that much, but after holding a grip like that for a while it gets super slippery.
>>51183129Eh, the backstrap is replaceable and it comes with multiple sizes, so I can either get a custom one made, or get one of the supplied backstraps stippled.
Can I get some recommendations for an IWB SP101 holster?
>>51182761He finally started doing tuckable options I see
>>51182761I'm new to carry, what's the bit on the lower end for? I've seen it on a lot of holsters but IDK what's up with it. At first I thought it must be something for the belt or the pants but they're almost always textured, is it some kind of release for when you pull out the gun?
>>51180406you can 3d print one, this has been done already
>>51183100where the fuck can you have a pistol, but not have the slide milledwhat the fuck
drew a pistol on a guy who tried to mug me today didnt shoot him, thankfully, he surrendered immediately cops took my gun thoughphilly so i dont think i'm gonna get it back, so RIP to the ruger 1911 that just saved my ass i only had the one carry gun, so i guess what should I replace it with? I really like having a safety, but I guess I'm not attached to 1911 or single action necessarily, its just what I have the most experience with. it was a commander, to give you an idea of the size i have no issue carrying i havent really pistol shopped in a number of years, i just train with what i have, so I have a lot of 1911 9mm magazines, a lot of 9mm, and not a lot of time on other guns.
>>51183504If you really liked your 1911 then just get another one. Otherwise you can get a p365 with the same style safety with more rounds in a smaller package.
>>51183450Germany has gay ass laws preventing individuals from receiving gun parts, maybe that type of thing is common across Yroop.>>51183504Damn. How long are they keeping it? If you're not going to trial why do they even still have it?
>>51183504>i dont think i'm gonna get it back???
>>51183450I mean in theory I can, but the options for quality work within any reasonable timeframe are very limited. Not illegal, as long as it's done locally. Importing parts, such as LTT milled slide is pretty much no-go
>>51180406I would love a g42x
>>51182722just curious: have you had bad experience with the Q5 SF or why would you not recommend one?
Just picked up my first Glock 19, looking for reqs on grips, triggers, extended mag releases and slide locks. This is my first decent fire arm, new to the /k/ world.
>>51183082Nah get a g17 and chop it
>>51183504Maybe get another 1911 or a g19 with a red dot. Shadow systems makes an affordable upgraded glock which is really nice for the price.
>>51183538>>51183554He said he's in Philly. Cops are crooked af. It'll get "lost" and probably end up as a drop gun.
>>51183569Not bad really, but enough niggles with it to add up to being frustrated that it costs as much as it does. The biggest offender is the trigger; it's the standard PPQ trigger. Or rather, it's the newer PPQ trigger with added creep, nothing special. Here's a stock older PPQ next to a stock PPQ Q5 SF. The older PPQ trigger is dramatically better.Aside from that, the factory grip is overly large but smaller ones are available now, there is a machining artifact right where my thumb knuckle sits and I feel it (have seen others talk about this too), there is an issue of magazine looseness in the magwell which in some guns can lead to damage or stoppages, and to me there is little or no difference in recoil between SF and polymer PPQ despite the massive difference in weight. But it's still a well made solid object of admiration, is very accurate and has excellent features like optic plates (now available from CHPWS) very nice checkering and options for trigger improvement to really make the trigger exceptionally good (but it doesn't come that way).I love mine, I just don't think it's a smart buy over a Shadow 2, LTT 92 or even the regular PDP.
>>51183578OEM G17 trigger, OEM G34 slide release, some snap caps so you don't crack your breechface from dry-firingdon't bother fucking with anything else except the sights
>>51183578It's all personal preference, especially considering the sheer amount of companies making quality stuff for glocks. I'd shoot it at least 600 rounds before you start messing with it. The talon pro grips are great and a lot less expensive than a stippling job, but I would consider an undercut at some point. G19s rub my knuckle raw, maybe for you tasty isn't an issue though. Sights are a great first upgrade, and I would definitely get it milled for a dot so consider that when looking at sights. Congrats on the g19, you chose wisely.
>>51183578Don't listen to the >j-j-just stay stock crowdGet used to the gun as it is, sure, but once you identified what you don't like (and since it's Glock trust me you will find some) change them.I recommend extended base pads for your magazines, better sights, minus connector OR a whole different trigger altogether and that's about it, maybe an extended slide release if you feel like it.
>>51183538>>51183554I don't even live in Philly, I just work there, I'm a New Jerseyan (carry permit from little town in central PA willing to give to out of staters). There's a zero percent chance I get my gun back from Philly cops, everyone in Philly and everyone in NYC, especially the cops, hates everyone from NJ (which we deserve). >>51183657100% then, in my experience the only cops worse than in Philly are in Buffalo >>51183637>>51183537thanks for recs, it's gonna be like six to eight months before I get new pistol permits so it's pepper spray and a knife for me for the foreseeable future. If any fellow NJans are here, it's Perry County Courthouse. I'd call before you make the drive, it's pretty fuckin far and I don't know if theyre still doing it for sure, but at least at the start of the year they were willing to issue to NJ and NYS residents.
>>51183399It a Holster Claw. It sits behind your belt and pushes the guns grip into you body to reduce printing. Pic related can show it better than I can describe it.>>51183331Yeah I've carried every way except appendix and now I feel like I was wasting my time and money before.
>>51182761>CZ with NSNwat is this
>>51183784What do you mean chance? It's your property, pursue it. Consult a lawyer, look up the process on legal forums.
>>51183661thanks for the insights. I was actually looking at the Black Ribbon version of Q5 in the Shadow 2 price range, which comes with the "dynamic performance trigger" pre-installed. I guess I'll have to find one to try out—though I probably will end up going with the CZ anyway, as I already know it fits my hand well, it being so similar to TSO.
>>51183820CZ p-01 with NSN. Its just a flex by CZ to say the p-01 passed the stringent NATO tests. I don't think they laser engrave it anymore. I think on newer production guns its part of the roll marks.
>>51183820If you want to look it up the stock number is NSN 1005-16-000-8619.
>>51183784Burt I don't know if you understand Philadelphia. I could probably get it back if I showed up and bribed an officer, but I promise when I call them to ask about it they're gonna tell me it's evidence until they tell me it's lost. I'm not the first person I'll know who lost a gun to the Philly PD.
>>51182722>forgot the DANo worries, I was having such a hell of a time keeping the hook in place while smacking it, I tried to seat it a bit before driving it through. Over shot and got stuck but eventually drove it back out and did it proper. Now I have a new problem though. The seer isn't engaging the hammer. It will go through a full(ish?) swing when pulling the trigger, noticeably missing the half cock notch in the process. However, pulling the hammer manually produces no engagement with the seer. I really don't want to pull the cage out again but I think I have to. Not sure what I did wrong though.

Has taran tactical fixed their mag spring issues yet? I'm finding that I really like the feel of a mag well on my glocknade but I definitely need thicker base plates on my mags to compensate during reloads. I'd rather not fuck with changing the capacity of my mags, but taran extensions seem to be the only option without stupid milling or that will fit in my mag well
>>51183913you fucked up and one of the spring arms in in the wrong spot. strip it and retry.use slave pins its incredibly useful.
>>51183842Ah yeah that addresses 2 of the niggles then. The DR trigger will be great, and that comes with a small grip. You can also modify the factory trigger yourself to fix the break and shorten reset (in the same way that the Dynamic trigger does and the Expert and Champion triggers before it), but the trigger will be the normal plastic ofc not the aluminum flat Dynamic one if that's what you want. Personally I think those straight backed grips are TOO small.Just breaking it down:The Q5 Black Ribbon is ~$2,100A regular Q5 SF Pro with magwell in black or blue is ~$1,500plus $225 for Dynamic trigger with FCGplus $65 for extended mag release in black or blueplus $122 for aluminum small grip in any colorequals ~$1,912 for a gun identical to the Black Ribbon, only you also have the original grip, mag release and trigger/FCG as spares or to sell, and can pick your colors. Just saiyan.>>51183913How old is the sear? CGW says don't use a sear that has 1,500(?) rounds or more, something like that. I haven't looked at mine in awhile so I don't recall just from looking at your pic, but is the sear spring in correctly? Maybe if it's backwards it can hold the sear OFF the hammer instead of pushing it into it>>51183902I know swine do this kind of stuff regularly with drug scum because they don't want to interact with police but if what you did was legal and there's no court proceedings looming over your head it sure seems worth it to keep pestering them and investigate legal avenues to get your gun back! What mag pouches do you guys use for carry? I've got a JM custom kydex AIWB pouch I use but the +2 Glock extensions add a bit of weight towards the top when it's seated and it tends to lean forward, printing a bit. Should I look into other options or just swap the 17+2 for just a 17?
>>51184350Fair, let's hope they go the FK BRNO route and release a cheaper poly version like the PSD to the Field Pistol.
>>51184387Get a lil wedge for the mag pouch
>>51184350Maybe? The sear spring had managed to uncoil a bit, resulting on this bit being much further down the surface it acts on. After a bit of pushing and poking, I now have spring tension but I can't remember how strong it's supposed to feel and it feels kinda weak. Gonna pop it back in and try it. Does that look like where it's supposed to be? I thought it should be up higher.

Shooting the Glock brand Glock today. 8 yards, offhand. After installing the TruGlo TFX sights, the gun had to be re-zeroed with the rear sight substantially off to the right, but now that it’s correct, it’s grouping well. Six o’clock hold still kinda annoying but whatever.
>>51184848I’d also like to forewarn others that the long profile of the TFX Pros means that you might need to whittle down your holster to get the gun to fit.

>>51184848Why do you have to use a 6'o clock hold?
>>51184974Because the sights have no way to adjust for elevation short of filing down the the sight, and I don’t really want to do that. Using a dead on hold, it’s only shooting about 3/4ths of an inch low at 8 yards, anyway.
>>51184840Very cool, I want to do this but I'm too much of a pussy.
>>51184993>3/4ths of an inch lowSorry, 3/4ths of an inch high, I mean. Hold low, on the bottom of the ten ring, to hit the bullseye.

>>511862549mm at the time WAS underpowered, and 45 has capacity limits. 10mm solves both of these but they hire lady boys so had to go down to 40, which has little power increase over 9, and loses capacity, but sunk cost fallacy made them go to it.Fwiw the extra muzzle flash from 40 has supposedly led to some increase in psychological stops compared to 9mm/38
>>51186343>>51186336I always thought it was funny that 9mm is what everyone keeps coming back to for pistols. Seriously, for the "Wars" category on Wikipedia it just says "WWI to Present" because it's been used in every major conflict since its invention.Danke, Herr Luger.
impulse bought this at a pawn shop only to realize the mags are like 80$ a pop.
>>51185027I just want Langdon to get Px4 slides and just do a drop in like with the 92s.
Bump for Stendo
>>51186418The FBI "came back" to it, but that's all. The Euros have used it from the start because it was basically the first automatic pistol cartridge worth using, and NATO inherited that, hence the USA's adoption of it.9mm is the Glock of handgun calibers: it was in the right place at the right time and continues to coast along based on brand recognition and being the bare minimum adequate performer in its category.
OK, this Surefire light is ridiculous. IR and visible lights and lasers for a pistol, only $1400 goyim. Is there anything comparable that costs less than my firstborn's foreskin?
>>51186889DBAL-PL, I guess? $1400 is in the same ballpark as other IR laser/illuminators like the ATPIAL-C and midrange rifle DBALs, and you need several thousand dollars' worth of other night vision shit to use the IR stuff anyway, so I'm not sure why you're so salty.
>>51186936Not salty really, I get that it's a boutique item for certain customer, I just had some sticker shock when I saw it costs as much as a decent AR and pistol combined.
Anyone shoot the G26 and the 43x to compare the two? Which one is a better buy, which one is the better shooter? In the market for one and I cant decide.
>>51184263It was a guy who shot an innocent 13yr old in the neck...
>>51187090why the fuck would you want a glock nowadays? its not the 90s anymore. literally every other company has something similar if not better
>>51187150Hey fuckface, I didnt ask "should I get a glock?". Why do contrarian faggots feel the need to argue about EVERYTHING that anyone posts.
>>51187204There's literally a million ranges that rent out glocks. I'm pretty sure it's a requirement at this point. Go to one and try the models out. Btw, don't care what others think about your opinion on brands. Be a based enjoyer of enjoying things.
>>51187204enjoy spending your entire guns worth in upgrades to put it on par with one that would have cost you 100 more in the first place then you retard
>>51187255Lmao, you sound like a noguns. Upgrading the sights is the only thing you need to change out on a glock. You're a legitimate faggot.
>>51182405Typically looser guns are more reliable with a wider range of mags and ammo. The precise tight fitting guns are more inclined to bind up if everything isnt just right.
>>51183504Just buy two more of those rugers because they obviously work fine in your situation and you have a lot of acessories for them. If you get the other one back then great you never have to be in this position again.
>>51187090Do like the >>51187223 anon said and find a range that rents guns. The 26 is nice because every double stack 9mm Glock mag will fit. You can rock 10rnds, 12(10rnd with +2), 15, 17, 19(17w/ +2), 21(Pmag), 24, 27(Pmag) and 33.The 43x has 10 or 15. Newer 43x's have a rail now, but there are lasers and lights that can be put onto a 26 if you want one. IDK how to help you decide. I own a Glock33, but I also own a Hellcat which is basically a 43x when I use the 15rnd magazine.
>>51187507>HellcatI've thought these look pretty badass, how do they shoot? I've been shooting the lcp so long anything will probably feel like an upgrade desu
>>51185996IIRC early ones had cracking frames and slide rails.Look out for that if you're not buying new.
>>51186096That was before
>>51180391so i need a pistol for concealed carry that says "Kill every commie, Kill every capitalist. Fascism or death. ME NE FREGO" i know edgy huh? but what can i get for under 600? i prefer metal frame but eh does not have to be
>>51183902I got back my gun taken a year ago from a PD's evidence. In fact the check in date was late December but they called me to go pick up a few days go. This was out in a southwest state but just saying you should try and just do your check-ins at reasonable intervals.
>>51180391can you guys rec me a light to give as a gift? specifically for a p80 g19. i dont want to shell out more than 150, so no surefires. curious about anything that isnt a TLR1 (which i will get if there arent any more interesting alternatives).
>>51188231That was fixed pretty early on, thats what the notch in the frame is, they solved the issue of it breaking at that point by just removing it, which i find hilarious.
>>51187129No 13yo is truly innocent
>>51188818Stop making this post. Either shit or get off the pot.
Is having a standard, i.e. not bobbed or shrouded, hammer on a CC revolver really a big deal?
>>51189204It just means that you're gay for not shooting DA all the time.
>>51189143Usually people never give me non meme answers, so I'm forced to repeat myself. Cry more lol>>51189137Nice.
>>51189137>>51189308Commie weapons are OK. I don't dislike them. I just despise commies themselves. There's this one commie who works at a local taco bell. He wears a Che shirt often. I remember him trying to talk to this blonde girl. She was a bit fugly but he fucked up by making a retarded "size the means of reproduction" line.
>>51189308>Usually people never give me non meme answersRead as: you have a handgun in mind and you're going to make this post forever until someone happens to post the thing you already want to buy. Then you probably won't buy it.
>>51189347I have no gun in mind. I just would like a metal frame pistol. But as I said, cry more
>>511863439mm was never underpowered
>>51189744hey leave him alone man, just suggest shit
What are some good holsters for the cz sp-01?
>>51189750I did, an HP. As has been suggested multiple times by people other than me. This is my first time ever engaging him. He's gotten plenty of real suggestions which is exactly why I think he's fishing for a specific answer.
>>51188946tlr1 hl pretty much the king of handgun lights imo
>>51189769this is the second time asked for recommendations. the HP is great but i will probably never be able to get one due to circumstance. People also said a glock something (random number here). glocks are not my thing.
I want to get the M&P shield plus (optics ready). Does anyone even make holsters for it yet? Or can holsters for the original shield still work?
>>51189823Most shield holsters should work as long as they're cut for an optic.
no guns hereshould i just put red dot when i get something? /k/ makes it seem like the future. should i just start with the 'right way' ive been rapping lately someone pulled a gat at my last show real downer had to call security
>>51189906Buy a glock 40 from jamal
if I'm doing nothing but concealed carry should I bother with a g19 or should I just get one of the baby glocks?
Should I do 17 or 34 length barrel/slide? P80 with chopped grip to accept 26 mags using magpul 12rounders for deeper concealment
>>51189906Its the present
Hey guys, are there any pistols that you know of that come with a compact sized frame, but a full length slide and barrel?I've seen models that are like "Tactical" sized with the full sized grip and capacity, but a smaller barrel, but never the opposite; it's unfortunate because my little hands prefer a shorter grip.
>>51189796>this is the second time asked for recommendationsI'm pretty sure that's not true, unless some normie show prompted several identical posts.
>>51190222what are some examples of pistols with small barrels but large grips? i wouldnt mind that
>>51190076Is a 17L-length slide an option?
mouse guns best guns
>>51189823I'd wait until they add a rail to it like the 43X MOS for better weapon light options.
>>51190516They won't. You can buy a crimson trace light or a stream light for it.
>>51190369Yeah, I could get it from Zaffiri Precision Should I go all the way to 17L?
I have owned a CZ P-09 for years. Never had it jam or stovepipe a single time, and all I do is shoot the cheapest 9mm there is at the range. Solid iron sights, but it also has a picatinny rail on the frame good for a laser sight.https://cz-usa.com/product/cz-p-09/
>>51190240I saw the other ones. I have no proof of it but I am being honest.
>>51190595Crimson trace bad. TLR6 bad. I like smiffs but being able to accept a quality weapon light has become a priority for carry guns.
>>51189204I love the pug nose, but it’s a thicc boi for cc. Even a k-frame is pushing it, for me. I don’t see any problem with an exposed hammer, though, despite never actually cocking it.
>>51190838Bobbing the hammer eliminates a snag point and makes the gun more reliable with lighter spring weights by increasing the hammer's fall speed. There's literally no downside.
Thoughts on the METE SFx or the SFT?Probably generally for competition shooting.
I have a horrible astigmatism but I’d love to try pistol mounted optics. Does anyone make a prism optic small enough to not be retarded on a handgun? I tried an eotech recently and all I could see was a puckered red butthole, so I really doubt red dots will work for me, but tbf I’ve never actually tried one
>>51189978You shouldn't bother with anything smaller than a g19 for any reason.
>>51190918It can't be that bad, otherwise you'd already have glasses for driving at night. In any case, go see an optometrist.
>>51190972I’m technically supposed to have glasses but it’s not for an astigmatism, it’s just for near sightedness; I lost my glasses years ago though. Lights do have a noticeable flare for me, but not nearly as extreme as that picture. To be fair I’ve never actually used a red dot before, but I always hear people say eotechs are better for people with astigmatisms, so if the eotech looked as horrible as it did, I doubt a red dot will work for mePic related
Should I pick one up (FDE one also the same price), if I don't own a 1911?
>>51191204A lot of people get that kind of fuzziness from EOTech reticles not because of astigmatism, but because they're looking at the reticle instead of the target. I have a bit of the eyetism and the center dot on my EOTech is way cleaner than the 1MOA dot on my RMR (which is still perfectly usable, just a bit ugly)
>>51191218If your intended application is "owning a 1911" then sure, why not
>>51191323>If your intended application is "owning a 1911" then sure, why notAre they dogshit then?
>>51191270Well I wasn’t trying it at a range fwiw, I was just looking at it in a room, and not looking past it like you say. How big of a difference does that really make? I literally couldn’t make out any distinct features of the reticle at all, it was just like looking at a red haze, I couldn’t even really focus my vision on it
I know it's a stupid question but I need help picking a cerakote color for my G17 mag extensionhttps://suarezinternational.com/cerakote-finished-plus-5-4-magazine-extension-for-glock-17-22/>tactical grey>springfield grey>od greenBetween these 3 what should I get?
>>51191572ya mum dildo
Finally at the point where I can finish my poly80 buildExcuse me if this topic is contentious hereShould I just get an oem kit from glock for everything? I've got the 22 slide with the 31 barrel for a 357 sig pos, but none of the springs or trigger. Not sure if it's okay to use just a basic oem kit for like a 19, or if I need to get a 22 or 31 spring and trigger set
>>51191572Springfield gray is darker and less metallic than tactical. Go for that.
>>51189760I put a light on mine and got a philster light retention holster.
>>51191696Thank you anon, I wasn't sure if the tactical gray was too light
>>51191662Should have Mentioned i have the 940c
>>51180985if you intend to use it for practical pistol competition, know that the TSO would limit you to limited or open division, both of which would essentially require you to load your own ammo, because factory 40sw doesn’t shoot soft enough or cycle reliably enough in a limited gun and 9mm major also needs to be tuned to your particular gun/springs/etc. The CZ shadow 2 would enable you to compete in stock divisions and is your best bet given your priorities. That is, unless you like 1911s, which have extremely good triggers and their own division in many organizations. If I were going to shoot single stack I would get a Dan Wesson Pointman 9. Don’t get a 2011, won’t run reliably unless you know how to reload and tune magazines.
Ok, weird question, but are there any brands that you won't support based not on the quality of their pistols but because of their beliefs? Personally I don't think I could ever buy a Turkish gun because I fucking hate mudslimes. Also, Slovenia is a cute.
I'm starting to come around to the idea that for civilian CCW purposes a handheld light and an irons-only pistol is not only sufficient but optimal
>>51192348Why not both?
>>51191662You need the 22 specific FCG. It has a different ejector, that's the only difference.
>>51190819TLR6 is fine and crimson trace is literally the official accessory company for smith snd wesson, their newer products are higher quality.
>>51192348I think you should carry what you train with the most and are comfortable with. Though even with a weapon light I carry a handheld pin light. The weapon light is only a target acquisition aid.
>>51192402why not wear a plate carrier under my shirt and conceal carry a supressed ar pistol with three extra magazines?
>>51192402The added recoil control you get from a normal shooting grip probably isn't necessary enough in this use case to justify the added bulk and cost and reduced holster selection associated with a WMLSimilarly irons are much more forgiving of sloppy presentation than a dot and are more than adequate for up-close upper-torso shots, even with a threat focused sight picture, and you don't have to deal with batteries, volcanic ash blocking your emitter, etcMost shooters will benefit more from $800 worth of ammo than from an X300 and RMR [on their carry gun]
>>51190887The stupid boomers neutered the mete sfx optics cut for only really small optics all because they wanted to keep the rear sights for backup. On a side note Canik keeps their ear to the ground and listens to customer requests and is constantly improving the pistol and this pistol is improvement in every way over the sfx except for the smaller optics cut.
>>51192214Fair, I too hate the antichrist.
Is Kahr good? would you buy a CM9 for $350
>>51193126its alright but outdated. if you cant afford a p365 get the khar
i am unironically going to take out a loan for this so i can stop being nogunshttps://www.gunbroker.com/item/913255193
>>51188444Not saying it is but if the off-center rear is autistically annoying you, you can reduce the offset by moving both the front and rear sights half the distance the other way, to make it appear closer to center :)>>51188946TLR1 for sure. HL if it's going to be used outdoors, I prefer non HL for indoors. You can sometimes rarely catch Surefire X300Us for about $170, maybe this black Friday but it doesn't happen often.>>51190222You can do that with a Beretta APX and maybe some other modular guns, but I don't think the dust cover will fully cover the recoil spring so that may be a problem eventually with lint or debris if you're rolling in mud. Or you could do the old glonk 17/26 mod with a hacksaw, to the grip length you want using the gun you want (dictated by whatever size magazines you want to base this around).I think the smart choice is to just get the compact/semi-compact, since the velocity difference is negligible and I don't see a benefit to the extra length to help concealability.>>51190918Unfortunately no, God that would be so great why won't somebody make one? The best you can do is turn the brightness down and use a simple reticle, basically a small dot only. There's no magic dot for us.t. astigmatic>>51192134Nope. I judge guns based on their inherent qualities, it'd take something overtly harmful to my interests to make me avoid a company over politics>>51193165Anon please do not do that!
>>51193402>Not saying it is but if the off-center rear is autistically annoying you, you can reduce the offset by moving both the front and rear sights half the distance the other way, to make it appear closer to center :)Is the smiley face there to indicate that your suggestion to drift a Glock's front sight is meant to be humorous?
>>51193165Just buy a Taurus G3 and a TLR 1
>>51193472Nope just old and retard and forgot what gun was being talked about yesterday
>>51186254I think .40 S/W is great in a steel frame. With technique it feels just like 9mm. According to Paul Harrell's videos its comforting to know that 180gr 1150fps bullets will go just over half way thru an assailants body from virtually any angle shot. .40 is based.
How do I conceal this
>>51193165I'm not going to shit on it being 40, since I carry a 3rd gen smith in 40, myself but a used USP shouldn't be 700 bucks. Are 500 dollar police trade ins all gone? Also, don't take out a loan for 700 bucks. If you can't put it on a 0 apr credit card, then at least do layaway or something.
>>51193857gun prices have been retarded for 2 years now, $400 guns go for $700-800
>>51193719>conceal You don't. You wear desert eagles on the hip to assert your dominance.
>>51193719Stuff it down the front of your pants, no holster, safety off and hammer back. Either you give yourself a high-speed sex change or scare the hell out of your attacker when you reach for your dick and reveal a gun
>>51193719Shoulder holster is the traditional way.
>>51193719keep it concealed in your prison wallet
>>51190918If you really want to try something out of left field, there's this See All sight that functions almost as an analog red dot. The reviews say it's basically parallax free, it has a triangle for a reticle, and it's illuminated with tritium. Kinda pricey at $250, but that's for the mount and the optic (Trijicon RMR mount). If I had a pistol with an optics cut, I'd probably try it out because I also have a pretty bad astigmatism.
What is the cheapest way to get a holosun optic on my Glock 19?
>>51190972Everyone sees that pic while driving cause the windshield is curved, right?
>>51194759Probably a rail attached optic mount like pic related, although I don't know which ones are any good off the top of my head.
>>51194765The gum they make nowadays has substandard adhesive properties and the flavor never lasts as long.>>51194776Is it cheaper to get the slide cut, or to buy a new slide?
>>51194784No cause then it gets stuck to my fingers and won't go away and I can feel it for a week every time I touch something.
>>51194780There's a million different companies that make Glock slides, so I imagine that's probably cheaper; if not it's definitely more convenient because you can still go shoot your gun.
>>51194780>Is it cheaper to get the slide cut, or to buy a new slide?if you send yours off, itll take at least a month and probably be around $200if you can find one, might be better to just buy one and sell your old one if you need the cash
>>51194780You can buy a new stripped MOS slide so that would be cheaper than a slide cut. Unless you're dedicated to a certain look.
>>51194832>>51194834So then I guess my next question is are there any Black Friday deals on optic cut G19 slides.
>>51194854here, let me link you a really good websiteduckduckgo.comNow go do what non retards do, and go look it up, faggot.
>>51194872I'm already looking it up on duckduckgo. If you're going to post and waste people's time, try to not be a fucking retard.
Can I CC a 7'' ruger single seven?
>>51194776Is this the only option for regular base model beretta 92x?
>>51195111I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure you can get your slide cut at a gunsmith, and the 92 has aftermarket slides; this one is from Langdon Tactical, but it's pricey at like $600https://langdontactical.com/92-elite-ltt-red-dot-ready-slide/
>>51180391Glock 42 with nothing special. You dont need pics, you've seen them all over the internet. And its a backup gun. My EDC is a Sig P365.
>>51195214>I'm pretty sure you can get your slide cut at a gunsmithnot just any gunsmith since LTT are the only people who can do it now. and yeah it's pricey like you said, but you can send in your slide and they'll cut it for $350
>>51195214At that price it doesnt seem worth it, unless mounting on the slide is inherently significantly better than mounting it to the rails with the other setup. Its a metal frame though it shouldnt be that shaky
>>51195767Frame mounted red dots are superior because they don't move when you fire, so you don't have to reacquire the sights. In USPSA shooting, frame mounted optics are only allowed on Open guns I think.
Give me one fucking reason not to take a hacksaw toi my BERETTA right fucking now you fucking moronsi figuored it out im a god fuckign dam genus\lookLOOOKcan you put glock mags in a fuckin gbereta?

>>51198983>not a good dealYeah you're right. I think I thought that striker fired Sigs were as expensive as H&K stuff
>>51187090That's going to be a very subjective decision. I think the g26 would shoot smoother because it's thicker and heavier. I would personal rather get the 43x because the g26 is a chunky gun and is less comfortable IWB.
