Why don't they put magazines (chargers) on the back of the rifles?
Because that's extra weight on your rifle, changes the cog, and requires near disassembling the butt stock to get a mag yoo could just carry in any other method better. Hell having that mag in a breast pocket is a better plan.
>>50022346You have clearly never shot a gun in your life.Just imagine having to open the butt stock every time you want to reload
>>50022376I think he means it would be a spare emergency mag that could be used as a last resort type thing.
>>50022346I remember firing a .22lr lever action rifle in my youth where you'd put the rounds in the back of the stock and a spring would push them forward.
They used to just munt one to the outside of the A2/ A4s
>>50022346design one with a spring mounted retaining system
>>50022346More complex mechanism = more expensive and prone to failure, reload is harder, and shifts more weight to the back which increases the need for a compensator. And it doesn't really offer any value gained. If you want a back magazine, look at bullpup rifles. They're a thing already and allow a shorter overall gun while maintaining the same barrel length (important for both velocity and legal compliance for those who care).
>>50022346there are mounts to mount a magazine on the stock, the handguard or a V shaped mount to have double magazines in the gun. there's also mounts that mount the magazine sideways from the mag well for soldiers in places where regulations demand that they dont walk around with a mag in the gun.
>>50022381I think I remember that too. Was basically a tube fed .22lr but you load it from the back instead of the front, right?
>>50022380Or just put it on your chest rig????
>>50022442Emergency mag anon. Like you're in an emergency or something.
>>50022346Because that's where the cleaning kit is?
I just keister my extra rounds. Takes some practice but I'm already up to 43 9mm or 14 5.56mm
>>50022479In that situation just one extra bullet is enough
>>50022433Yeah, held like 10 rounds or something.
>>50022479If you're in an emergency, would you rather go digging around in your butt stock, or just grab the spare mag you keep for these situations on your rig? And don't tell me you cant fit an extra pouch on the molle, there's always room.
>>50022783Its the mag for when the mags in your rig run dry...
>>50022346>Why don't they put magazines (chargers) on the back of the rifles?>what is the M6
>>50022804i sure hope you don't expect to have to use it in any sort of quick fashion.
>>50022804you're fucking retarded and a mall ninjajust add another pouch to your rig instead of adding pointless weight to your gun. that's all you have to do."im in an emergency, i need more ammo"so carry more ammo dumfuk
>>50022829>what is the M6a bomb truck, an artillery tractor, an anti-air modification of the M2 Bradley, an artillery piece, a bayonet, an AT-Mine, a short-stroke AR-15, a cargo airline based in the United States, a 1916 German two-seat experimental aircraft, a 1917 Italian flying boat fighter prototype, a 1930s British experimental monoplane, a former New York City Bus route in Manhattani dunno anon, the M6 seems to be a lot of things
>>50022346This was very common back in the day. Many old rifles had compartments for extra cartridges held in the stock. This was called a "cartridge trap"; see picrel. Also back in the days of muzzleloaders there was often a compartment in a rifle stock or the butt of a pistol barrel to keep spare caps.I suspect the reason it isn't done today is because the average battle rifle mag is too big to fit into a stock, and I doubt it would be of much benefit anyway.>>50022872this, if we're talking combat situations. I can see the cartridge traps making sense for a hunting gun where it's just an easy way to carry a handful of cartridges (which is probably all you need anyway) but it's just dumb for combat.
>>50022904Post more of those back chargers
>>50022866>>50022872Completly not understanding the point.
>>50022981and what is your point, dumbass?that you "ran out of ammo" but oh wait still have another mag so you aren't actually out of ammo? manage how many mags you have left, dipshit
>>50022981>emergency mag>can't be reliably used in an emergencyI don't think you understand what emergency use items are for
Machine guns have those IIRC
>>50023035based shoulder thing that goes up poster
>>50022346added weight, pointless because why make your gun heavier when you can justadd another mag to your rig
>>50022909I bet OP gets charged from the back every Friday night
>>50023004>>50023009Its an extra, something that you can add onto your kit withouting consooming more. Like if you're really going to larp and want as much mags on you but Amazon no longer is able to ship you your chinkshit pouches overnight.
>>50023079you are so retarded holy shitduct tape
>>50023101Hard to fit in pouches. How fucking noguns are you? You reek of high confidence-low knowledge.
>>50023106I'm not the dumb "muh emergency" faggot OP. if he wants to carry an extra magazine on his gun and be a retard, and then argue that his point is to "not buy more equipment" then a jungle mag is the simplest solution
>>50023079>without consooming more>has to buy a novelty consoomer aftermarket stock to be able to fit a mag inits a terrible idea with the sole exception of the rifle being designed as a breakdown survival gun specifically designed to carry the one magazine you'll need in the stock. A better idea would be to fill a pocket with stripper clips for an emergency if you foresee yourself getting into such an extended firefight that you have to disassemble your stock to get another magazine
>>50023123Jungle mags suck for carrying after use cod kiddie, just stop. Thats worse than leaving the extra mag at base. >>50023132Sure the stock is consoomer nonsense if you go out of your way for one.
>>50023154anon, you fucking retardcorrect, jungle mags are dogshit. but if the argument is "why not have a spare mag and pointless weight attached to my gun" then a jungle mag makes more sense that some stupid fucking buttstock gizmo you have to fiddle with before getting the mag in.consider buying more pouches before the hypothetical emergency that stops you from buying more pouches occurs.
>>50023154you have to go out of your way for one because it's a terrible idea for any modern magazine fed rifle. I guess you could get away with picrel but it'll be flimsy and unreliable. I cannot tell you how terrible of an idea it is any harder than I and everyone else has already. If you think this is an untapped market, go make millions with your innovation
>>50022366>extra weightYes>changes cogWould undeniably improve it on the ar with its front heavy ass
>>50023154where are you putting the normal mags you just used if you don't have somewhere to carry a spare one
My takedown .22 rifle does have space for mags in the stock but then again it has room for everything in the stock.
>>50023179Its literally tactical
>>50023267L I K C H T E R U H L L Y
>>50023259if it's the backpacker x22, supposedly there is room for some fishing line and hooks behind the buttpad, along with the storage in the stock and pistol grip
>>50022346It's been done. Not sure if these are any good.
>>50022346I keep two extra rounds in my pistol grip in case the government wants me to an hero.
We need better technology.
>>50022442low IQ take that you could just say about anything. if you've got the extra space, use it, not waste it. what else are you gonna put in there? candy? survival shit?
>>50023106>calls him nogunz>picture of actual real life soldier using his suggestionretard
>>50023940its space magic, i aint gotta explain shit
>>50023940does it really works like this?
>>50022346KelTec SU-16 does this anon in a couple models.
Ivan what if magazine was stock
>>50022346was just gonna ask this same question as I'm on verge of my first AR build in CA and seems like a no brainer.AR stocks got hollow for cleaning kit so WTF not make it same shape as 30rd mag then the CLEANING KIT could also fit in mag pouch, or even MAG WELL for handy storage.Yeah, make CLEANING KIT box same shape as mag and even put WTF a mag has to clip into mag well so it wont fall out and get lost, etc.
>>50022346Wait until all these fags learn about the lead weights people put in a2 stocks.
>>50022346the stock is to hold skittles or a cleaning kit like god intended
>>50022346>makes the stock weaker>gun is heavier>slower than just getting mag from a webbing pouch
>>50022381I have an old .22 semiauto (Mossberg 151) that works the same way.Super clunky to reload without a bench to set it on though.
>>50022783what if you don't have your chest rig handy but need a second mag. like if it were some sort of emergency
>>50022346Already existsAlready sucks ass
>>50026555Then have a belt rigOr keep your gun with your rigOr keep mags with your gunThe only instance this is an issue is when you're a fucking retard
>>50022346Only useful in a survival rifle and already incorporated in most.
>>50026555Hoop that shit
>>50022346>Keeping a mag in your stock>Not keeping another gun in your stock>NGMI
>>50026555How the fuck do you lose your chest rig? The first thing they each you in boot camp is never leave your chest rig or gun more than 6 feet away.
>>50022904The shit that existed before mag pouches and cheat eigs and plate carriers were invented, go you. Also, rounds for rifles that are not magazine fed. You are a fucking retard faggot fuck you.
>>50022536Based and Rudyard Kipling-pilled
>>50023995>he doesn't keep his Skittles at the readyoof.
>>50022346But it do anon
>>50022346With the AR-15 I'd imagine it'd help with the shitty front-heavy balance too. Good idea anon.
>>50023940>All that autism>Fires the whole bulletI find this highly amusing
>>5003059480% more bullet per bullet
>>50023387> I have 30 rounds loaded in my rifle> I have 180 rounds on my plate carrier> Better add a 10 round mag in my stock juuuuuuust in case I run dryI would rather have ammo on my thighs than in the butt of my rifle.
I quite like the Steyr Scouts integration of a backup mag in the stock.
>>50025780Yeah, watch the forgotten weapons vid on it
>>50022804>>50022981>>50023079>>50023106>>50023154>>50026555this is a concise list of people that fit the criteria:a) don't know what a pocket is b) are retards
>>50023387>>50031069It sits on my HD rifle because it's ergonomic and gives me an extra ten without having to go for a rig in case I need it at home. It's just a nice thing to have. Thanks Juice.
>>50023303Not an argument. Try again, one more strike and you're out.
>>50023387I actually own one of these. I keep a magpul 20 rounder in it, and i also have a 20 in the magwell. It is kinda gimmicky, however, consider the following. A: i didnt pay for it, a dude just gave it to me.B: if for nothing else, it kinda does change the balance if you use a capacity of mag greater than 10, a 30 is to much rearward balance, the 10 is to little, a 20 is just right. Considering that i have this mounted on a 16in piston ar, it actually does help with handling.Granted i am a sample size of one, who happens to be autistic, whose captcha was 8JEW8
guns fire horizontally. thus you want the ammo to point the bullet in the same orientation. if you put a mag in the buttstock the rifle would have to rotate the ammo prior to firing it, which is all around stupid, inefficient, and way more complicated. it just makes sense when you look at a handgun, what the would a handgun look like the other way? a 24 inch piece of steel pipe? now if you want a rifle to shoot into the sky or into the ground, then yeah buttstock mags make a lot more sense because the barrel would be up or down not towards the horizon.
>>50026465go take a brain scan and post it here so we can all laugh at your destroyed centers
Why dont they make rechargable body armour?
>>50025997>why dont magizines look more like stonks?
>>50033763reading comprehension Nigga
>>50022346Because that's where the cleaningKit goes.
>>50022346Thats pretty cool! Doesn't seem super practical, but how can it be made practical?Maybe a shotgun could be loaded like that, one shell ata time from the butt.Maybe a revolver rifle, where you just push in a speedloader from the back.
>>50025997what if magazine was grip?
Kel tec does
>>50035160LMAO TWO MAG
>>50022380“Hold on, Enemy! I need to unscrew my buttplate real quick for a tactical reload!”
>>50035265>you've just finished a hard gunfight and retreated >in your haste to retreat, you ended up having to leave behind you empity mags>while recovering/regrouping in the field, you take out the spare mag from the stock and are ready to fight again
>>50035265what part of that looks like you have to unscrew it to remove the mag?are you just purposely being retarded or what?
>>50022346It seems silly when you could just strap one on to the side of it
