you shouldn’t, unless you really like the features of the ACE specifically. just buy an older parts kit if you want a galil.

If you just want an AK, get an AK
If you want a service grade rifle, there are plenty of options out there that are better in so many ways

You probably still can if you don't mind waiting six months or more on top of however many months it would take for a competent builder to assemble the rifle.
>>
>>49209191
The ACE has literally every improvement that nerds shell out extra large amounts of schekles for and have to wait four months for russian post to deliver to them. It is the closest thing to an AK-15 we can hope to have CONUS. For ~$1700 you get a milled, free-float rail, galil safety, repeatable hinged dust cover, reliability enhanced AK. And the finish doesn't melt off if you look at it wrong unlike its closest competitor, the SAM7SF

And yes, I did overpay for the SAM7SF. It's inferior to the ACE in every way except for the folding stock hinge mechanism. The AKS-74 hinge that operates with a button is better than the Galil hinge that you have to use brute force to fold.
>>

It's not hinged and the railed gas tube and top cover both (like the original Galil) will loosen up with time and plenty of people have had issues with heavier optics on holding zero

Wait, which of those AKs is better than an ACE? The only folding stocks you have are the one on the SAM7 and that old-ass Tantal wire folder. Neither of those are as good as the ACE's stock. The only way to get something similar in the US is to buy a Bonesteel buffer tube adapter (copy of the Galil hinge) or one of those SRVV buffer tube adapters for Russian folding mechanisms that I'm pretty sure haven't been made in years.
>>49209443
lol nah he has some good guns. I own a lot of the same ones or similar, but he's talking out of his ass when he claims that his AK can do everything an ACE does. None of his AKs have all the features that an ACE does out of the box.

Well since the thread has already gone to shit with galil posting I’ll post mine. Installed the plastic delete kit last week and today I got the Midwest Industries handguard in so I could take off the huge hunk of plastic they called a handguard. Got my KNS adjustable piston and 5/8x24 adapter for my dead air Wolverine that’s in NFA jail. All I’m waiting on is the tubular style galil stock to get delivered.
>>
>>49209191
The ACE is a good choice for retards who are deadset on trying to turn an AK into scary railed black rifle 9000. If I was trying to make a modernized AK in the states I would use the ACE as a base over trying to turn an AKM pattern rifle like a WASR into something that it isn't
>>
>>49209701
Magpul doesn't make 5.56 AK mags, because 5.56 AKs from different countries all have different specs to their magazine wells and bullet guides. >>49209404
has a large pile of Circle 10 magazines that are unique to one of his 5.56 AKs.

If you read the post you’d know I have a tubular stock in the mail. I do need a different grip, I don’t like the magpul one, but it needs to be an AR grip that doesn’t have the spur at the back, which isn’t very common.

That one guy who posted his family photo has obviously been collecting for years. I own something like 10 AKs, but I've also been buying guns for 10 years. If you only buy one or two guns per year, you will eventually amass quite a few if you never sell them.
>>
>>49209893

ah yes, if you plan to live in a frozen tundra, totalitarian communist republic or shitholes in africa and the ME, yes, then you should get a 762x39. kek

just give up and buy an AR. anywhere you want to live that is remotely livable is going to be using 556/308 and 300 blk
>>
>>49209716
looks more like an AR at that point
>>
>>49209877
Yeah I just push the spring in with my thumb and lift up on the dust cover. It’s not like a normal AK where it comes off easy but it still comes off with some force. Putting it back on is awful though. And I don’t really see the point of swapping the magpul grip for a BCM grip. I have two Bakelite M16 grips in the mail, gonna see what they’re like. If they’re crappy or I don’t like them I’m going to order a VZ grips AR grip. They’re expensive but VZ makes good stuff.

to be honest, the charging handle and minor reliability improvements as well as the ergonomics and mounting options are a small step up from a factory AK, but at a cost. i would buy a SAM7R at that price point and be happy with a well-engineered rifle that is good enough to put a man down in any situation i would feasibly be in and look damn good doing it with some wood furniture.

I don't think you'll make money flipping it on Gunbroker, and I'm pretty sure you'll lose money on the sale because you don't sound like the kind of dishonest fuck that these other GB sellers are to have a second account that shill-bids up your auction. Why don't you just try shooting the gun? If it breaks, then send it back to PSA, utilize their lifetime warranty, and, once it's returned to 100%, sell it then? It will cost you a lot less than the loss you'll take flipping it, shipping it, etc., and then dealing with buying a brand new AK from somewhere else.

I've got a new WASR and I have one of those Krebs Custom enhanced retaining plates to replace the shepherd's hook spring. Can someone remind me if I need to take out the trigger and hammer to do this, or if removing the safety is all it takes? It's been a few years since I installed one of these.

Incidentally, new WASRs come with Beryl-style enhanced mag catches, which is kind of cool. Unfortunately, the new plastic furniture, which is terrible btw, is hard as fuck to remove. I ended up getting out a saw and drill to take chunks of plastic out of the receiver, bit-by-bit. I can post photos if anyone is interested.

New Wasr-10 v2 is having failure to feeds with very very slight left and right, front to back wobble. Any suggestions?
Mags used were Palm, and KCI. Thinking they took to much meat off the top of the mag release. But wobble is NOTHING like what I've seen others post to youtube. It's even hard to release the mags once seated.
New to the AK world so some feed back would be nice.

So I assume it's strictly a magazine related issue?

So don't jump straight to the M&M mag release lever yet?

You can get surplus Romanian mags from multiple stores for like $20 each. Whatacountry, Apex, AoA, RTI, Carolina Shooters, they pretty much all have them. Romanian mags are cheap but 100% good to go, and same country as made your rifle, so this should be a no-brainer. Some anon will inevitably recommend you spend $30/mag on Polish surplus. Those are fine too, and the Circle-10 mags are also good, but they offer no advantage in reliabilty. Literally any combloc surplus is what your rifle needs.

Interesting thing about new WASR-10 v2-- the shepherd's hook is now really dug in there and under a lot of tension under the trigger and hammer pins. I have no idea how to get it out short of hammering out the trigger or hammer pins hard enough to overcome the tension. I think I'm going to leave it for now. So far I have a promag 40rd, a worst korean 75rd drum, 3 pmags, a circle 10 30rd, a bulgy steelie, a wbp tranny and a polish steel that doesn't work at all. All of my mags excluding the polish shit one that doesn't work at all work flawlessly. My circle 10 is my favorite though, theres no mag wobble at all. I love my wasr. Just need to procure myself a 40rd ((10)) and a bakelite and I'll have all the mags I want

To add, another interesting thing about the v2 is that the mag release is Beryl-size. Maybe they did that as an apology for grinding off the bayonet lug.

WASRchads rise up!

>I want to have one of each type of mag
This is retarded. AKs were never designed to be run with "whatever" mags like ARs are. A lot of hand-fitting goes into the assembly of an AK.

>(excluding shit ones that dont work). So far I have a promag 40rd, a worst korean 75rd drum, 3 pmags, a
All these are shit quality magazines and you should not expect them to be reliable.

>circle 10 30rd, a bulgy steelie, a wbp tranny and a polish steel that doesn't work at all.
How does the Polish mag "not work at all"? Does it not lock into the magwell? If so, that's proof that your concept of collect-em-all magazines is misguided. Different countries have different ranges of tolerances for parts. Tolerance stacking is a very real thing with AKs. I have had to grind down the locking lugs on Izzy bakelite mags (some anons call them the gold standard) because they would not lock into my WASR at all, even though every other magazine I tried would lock in. That doesn't mean they're bad magazines. Just that the tolerance ranges didn't completely overlap. It's normal and expected.

The polish one doesn't seat rounds properly, they slide out if they're in position 1, it doesn't feed properly either. It just all around is shit, its not surplus or anything it's just some random civvie mag made in Poland. I'm sure a polish surplus mag would work fine.

Are the maple zpaps supposed to be going up soon? Its been almost a week since their post about the shipment.

K-var had them available for preorder for like 4 days. I didn't have the cash, but I sold a bunch of shit on arfcom to raise money and eventually could buy one. Now it's arriving at the FFL on Thursday. What's your excuse?

>>49214145
Is it the one that claims to have a BHO follower? I always wondered about those.

Otherwise, I agree with >>49214161. Literally any combloc surplus should be the default purchase. You're not going to find probably anything worth buying at somewhere like Gunmagwarehouse, except Zastava mags, which might not lock into non-Yugo guns due to tolerance stacking, as I mentioned in >>49214128. Surplus steel mags are still relatively cheap, but they're going up in price every year.

Even with 30 round magazines?

Yeah

Didnt ask for your life story poorfag.
>>
>>49214161
I'm not the one asking about mags I was just sharing my wasr mag experience with the guy who just bought his. I'm happy with my mag collection so far. I'm keeping the polish mag in case I ever need a new spring or follower(if the follower isn't the culprit)
>>49214196
Yes, and that's another thing, the bho feature worked once and never worked again so idk man. They suck in my experience. I carved "shit" into it so I dont confuse it with my other steelie

>poorfag
Not a poorfag, just cash-poor after having bought a zoomerpap less than a month earlier.

gotcha, well collections are cool too
i like having different countries mags

Is there an easy way to tell them apart? Surplus combloc mags pretty much look all the same to me.
>>
>>49214207
So these guys are potentially my only way of getting uncucked magazines in NJ? I wonder how good the AK30R mags are.

I'll take that as a tentative no.

>>49214252
They do have the US palm with the steel lugs, but there are much better mags for the same price on other sites, I've been trying to get them to start carrying the Bulgarian polymer with steel locking lugs and steel feed lips, you should tell them to sell them too.
>>
>>49214050
Mine is also a 2020 just a V2 .
I got mine brand new from a friend for 500 who was desperate for money to be able to pay his car. Only shot it once and maybe only 2 mags worth? I couldn't pass it up.

I'm replacing the shepard's hook with a power custom or Krebs with a retainer plate. The only thing I've noticed about my V2 is the gas block. It's angled more than the original.

60 rounds, $500.
I'll take that as new all day.

It was hyperbole, hundreds would be more accurate

I don't mean clone stuff or Zenit, I meant 14.5 pin and weld barrels, the chassis from the last OP, and AR stock adapters. Basically the AK-20

It's a good deal, but it's a preowned rifle.

is this the proper way to sling the KP9?
Cali fag, so the stock is fixed unfortunately .......does it just come over the top / right side of the stock when you shoulder it ready to fire?
luckily it juuuuust fits my body frame so works well but kinda awkward????
