Question for zpap92 owners: What did you do/use to remove the halfass tiny weld on the thread protector? Will it just snap with enough force or do I need to take a dremel or something to it?

>>48902086
I used a file and just filed off the spot weld then put it in a vice and twisted it off. I did fuck up when I put it on the vice and put too much pressure and ended up damaging 3 rivets. Nothing bad just cosmetic damage.
>>
>>48901997
I'm not worried about braces or mag bans or anything silly like that, I'm just concerned Biden will try to get the ATF to fuck with imports. But, it seems like at the least partskitfags will be fucked, which is a shame since parts kits are one of the few ways the average person can easily get something thats not a Romanian/Serbian/Polish/Bulgarian AK
>>
>>48901280
haha brace cucks blown out
>>
I just had bear's garlic pesto.

>>
>>48902139
If the executive order is exactly as reporters are wording it, it will be a feel-good mostly do nothing order. Background checks for buyers of "ghost guns" defined as a gun with no serial number? Well parts kits and 80%s are not legally guns yet. All that would do is make it so if you make your own gun and later get bored of it, you now need an FFL to transfer it rather than just selling privately.

Correct. If by some mechanism the filibuster is removed and / or the HR1 bill passes, it's all over. Immediate bill passage for every left pet project including gun control. GOP will never have more than 1 chamber majority and may never see presidency again because the rules of the voting game have been re-written to keep them out eternally.

I'd rather have no brace and no stock than be on the NFA registry. Sure, we're all on lists for other things, but this is one instance where you are completely voluntarily opening up a door for the fed to step into your life.
>i-it hasn't happened to me! I don't even know of anyone that it's happened to!
Doesn't mean it won't happen. Doesn't mean you haven't willingly put yourself under a spotlight that you didn't have to be in.
>>
>>48902477
Biden can't do that (legally), presumably his EO will be limited to the things that the ATF has discretion over.
>>
>>48902480
>but this is one instance where you are completely voluntarily opening up a door for the fed to step into your life.
about something gun related, no less. You might as well be pointing a big sign at yourself that says "FEDERAL GOVERNMENT LOOK AT ME I'M ARMED WITH WEAPONRY! YOU HAVE THE SERIAL NUMBER AND ALL MY PERSONAL INFORMATION TIED TO IT AND EVERYTHING!"
>>
>>48902480
unless you bought all your guns second hand private party, kys
>>
>>48902503
Doing a background check to buy a firearm is not putting yourself out there nearly as much as registering an NFA item. With a background check the government is not given the information of what the gun is, what caliber it shoots, what the serial number is, who owns it, etc. It just shows that a transfer was taking place for either a long gun or a handgun. And even then, the list drops off after a certain time.
>>
>>48902503
>passing a background check is equitable to registration, fingerprinting and $200 tax stamp

No.

Honestly as long as you're mentally balanced and not some sexually frustrated incel or super weirdo autist I don't think the ATF cares about the average common working man owning guns because they know most of us either don't engage in law breaking as we are good boys who pay taxes or that they think we're too chickenshit to break the law because we'd have so much to lose. I want to know who is that thing even for? People who want a PCC that takes glock mags are either someone who is poor but already has a glock or some kinda minmaxer who wants a super compact truck gun that shares mags with his carry pistol. This thing is neither cheap nor compact. On the other hand people who would want an AK over some more modern gun are typically more into aesthetics and collecting and have no interest in some disgusting glock mag abomination. Why buy this when you can buy a KP9 and have a proper vityaz for less? So who then, is buying this?

I hear ya with "another caliber". I told myself that at first and then got into AKs. With the Mini - retarded design for our retarded import laws yes, but you buy the rear trunnion with it and have it put on. Have to factor that cost in, just like with parts for full size Beryls. Price at Atlantic should be close to before, maybe a little more, I woudlnt buy from AoA personally. Also, dont put it on CC unless you're just doing that for cashback and paying it off within the week. You dont need one that bad. Trust me, I want to impulse buy one too, I tell myself "well its only going to be worth more, you wont lose money" but shit like >>48906243 makes me nervous. >>
>>48906338
Sold an AR so I could sidestep the extra caliber issue and now everything takes either 9mm, 5.45 or 7.62x39. Cetme-Ls in the original Spanish green with the top pic rail look sexy to me but I'd rather have another import than a malcomar creation. I'm gonna pass on the beryl. It's cool. Not for me though. And not on the credit card. Hard to not act like a nog though when the new one has a huge spending limit. So far though made it to mid 20's with a degree and zero debt at all to my name and looking to keep it that way.

The commercial Bulgarians are decent, they are thinner gauge steel compared to surplus I think. Need to get scale though. Also, the one I got from them in February has some weird rear lugs not like in product photos. However, they are brand new though where the Romanians are used and good luck with what you get. If you get Bulgarian, I would only get a few to check out if you have never seen them. I honestly think its worth spending a little more and getting actual surplus like the Polish steels that are NIW for 33.

Yeah, I've known the guy for 16 years. He didn't care to make a profit, just sold it back for what he paid. He just got a house and proposed to his gf, said he was using the money to buy fruit trees and stuff for his garden. He originally bought it to try to hunt with but he said he never saw anything when he took it out. Came with 40 rounds of Hornady V-Max, 50 rounds of Tula and some no name optic mount. Also the mags I sold it with.

It's a fleur-de-lis, I'd love a 1 rib but no way am I paying today's prices.

They're good. They are for milled rifles so the back of them is thinner than handguards for stamped guns but mine doesn't wobble or move. I bought 3 sets for $100 a few years ago, kept the best set and sold the other two to recoup my money.

This. All the extra guns I have will either be used as assets to sell/trade. Or given to my children as I'm Catholic and am amassing a huge family.
