There's an angularity the German vehicles of WW2 that I really enjoy. They're aggressive, inhuman, impenetrable in their design (at least from an artistic standpoint). The endless variants of Sherman that America fielded during that time is an endless disappointment, but during the latter half of the 20th century we got on the right track.
That's why, for me, it's the Bradley IFV.

their main use after 1941 was for recon, like a slightly heavier armored car

unlike the americans or soviets, who were swimming in T-whatevers and M3/M5s, germans were chronically short on light tanks, so kept using outdated mediums as lights

They have been fighting over border territory for decades. India beat the crap out of China in the last skirmish due to using troop fighting at high altitude (the contested area is high in the mountains) and the Chinese vehicle armor being substandard junk.

The module in the back is held in place by just six bolts and you can change it out in something like 30 minutes under field conditions.
Probably keeps cost and logistics down and makes it maybe a bit more enticing for potential customers.

Legitimately yes. The wasted mass from modularity is like 1% of the total weight (nothing, for a vehicle program); and any vehicle in the same class would need the same blast-resistance and axles anyway.
