I'll be a fag and repost since I was at the tail end of the last thread. Does something like this ship as a rifle or when I do paperwork can I start its life as a pistol with the intent to add a brace? Similar to their M92.
>>
>>48422045
I answered the question though.
This is more of a FFL question anyway, as long as you can get your FFL on board then you're fine.

Ok, this is the project I want to get done this year. 7.62 tok al. Budget around $2200 all in. I want it to be suitable to run Kalash Bash in Ocfober. Haven't done too much research yet, but a 9mm seems to be the most efficient base to start with. Have any of you weirdos done one of these or shot one? Ideas on a base gun, mag solution, barrel source, etc?

Honestly the other anons might be right now that I think about it, the sporter furniture was probably taken off making it once a rifle always a rifle, I think your best bet in getting a title 1 other is by getting a kit built with a brace and vertical foregrip on it.
>>
>>48422088
Only steers and queers come from Russia, and I don't see any beef.
>>
>>48422083
You building it? Because I'm trying to finish my Krink build and there isn't a gas tube or dust cover anywhere in the United States.
>>
>>48422097
>you building it?
I think that's my only hope with the budget. A buddy has accumulated all the necessary tools to build AKs and we have some kits to put together. I'm thinking I'll start with a complete donor gun and rebarrel it, and make other modifications as necessary. Apparently 7.62 tok works from a 9mm or a 5.45 bolt, so I'm thinking of starting with a draco 9mm. I know fuck all about what it will take to make this thing work from there, so any resources are appreciated.

Complete nonsense, where are all the broken AKs because they only had a 1 mm receiver and not a 1.5 mm? it's not a fail point for AKs.
Barrel bronzing? Wtf is that?
You can change the furniture to anything you want and the classic furniture doesn't have a problem with fragile furniture it's basically milspec not sure about the colored stuff atlantic puts on it.
Also the Zpap is blued so it's more prone to rust unlike paint over park.

He might have said that same thing but so have others, in these past generals I've said that 1mm receivers aren't a problem when 1.5 mm tards come out of the wood work to say that every AK without that is shit.
>>
>>48423369
>that failed
I can't say I've seen one literally explode, but I have definitely seen a WASR 10/63 with a receiver that had the top bent in at both sides to the point where it would affect cycling/BCG travel. Don't ask me how it happened, I seriously doubt it came from the factory that way, but you get my point. A thicker receiver is going to hold up better to bubba hackjobs, rednecks running them over, or whatever the fuck else could possibly happen to a rifle.
>>
>>48423434
Yeah obviously 1.5mm is sturdier, but they are so much heavier that you really have to ask yourself if its worth it.

they have a lot of the mil beryl’s features so that’s pretty unique and special. The gun market doesn’t work on a price = “more good” ratio

>>
>>48424050
cucked -> chad
>>
>>48422654
That’s how casual gun owners think. Reddit is infested with them.

>guy he likes my “RPK thing” that I had posted (it’s an M72 I built)
>enthusiastically thanks me and says to reach out for all my zpap needs
>mfw going on an M72AB1 build

Nice guy but clearly a casual gun owner who bought an AK for the memes or whatever
>>
>>48424050
Could be a AWB era AK that is converted to a normal AK, could be a AK that is still in the configuration it's imported to a standard configuration.
>>
>>48423784
I'm sure you can find and buy things like the dog tail rail elsewhere and plop in on a different AK
>>
>>48424075
Oh, so importers have to fuck the guns up to get them imported and then the consumer has to fix them?
>>
>>48424120
Yeah basically, AoA sells them in the cucked configuration for people do have converted themselves and they are like $300 cheaper.

My sporter cost less than $700 after tax/shipping. Was able to set up with the furniture and parts I needed for less than $1000 total. This was in comparison to buying a complete Fox for ~$1000 at the time, and still having to source the furniture I actually wanted for an additional $250-$300.

Hmmm, I just looked at mine and while I can't take it apart, you can see the standard magwell shape extending past the front of the plastic housing. Also seems like it's riveted through what would have held a standard mag release on the rear.
If not, maybe a Nak/Pak-9/Wasr-9 might be a better choice anyways for such an experimental project.

Fair point. Ouch.
I actually do have fudd retired boomers on social security lining up at the door 45 minutes before we even open asking if our 18 wheeler of ammo has come yet for the morning, and I have to explain that we aren't a big box store like Academy or Bass Pro and we don't get 18 wheelers of ammo every morning, and to go away until we open. It's hard not to say "you should've gotten all the ammo you wanted when we had 4 years of record low prices and ready availability, now fuck off. You can't have mine." Some of them have stockpiled ammo but most of them don't.
>>
>>48424756
I think it would be worth the land to hunt and lease. A lot of areas are climbing in value too. As for coming here for shooting, not the plot I watch after, it's rare I see anything and the public land is normally pretty cleared out. I'm considering leasing someone else's land right now for $800 year because its size and I know there are hogs and coyote on it. I've never seen a hog at all anywhere but other people have and I've seen their marks some places.

I was sure Trump wouldn't get a second term even in 2017, and have thus spent the last 4 years buying up all the ammo, guns, and mags I wanted because I knew there was a very good chance this would happen. The way I saw it, if Trump lost, I would've gotten guns, ammo, and mags at rock bottom prices while the bottom of the market had fallen out. And if Trump won, I still would've gotten guns, ammo, and mags at rock bottom prices while the bottom of the market had fallen out.

>mfw spending $1500 on ammo last month
>>
>>48425113
If I didn't already have thousands of rounds of ammo for each caliber, I wouldn't spend the kind of money required to get ammo today. I'd just wait it out. Despite all the panicking about ammo import bans, one way or another, prices are going to have to come down eventually. The only thing keeping them high is people panicking and spending $1500 on a paltry amount of ammo for the money. This happened when Obama got elected, after Sandy Hook, when it looked like Hillary was going to win, and (in Florida) after the Parkland shooting. These things end, one way or another. Will prices be as low as they were before the current panic? Maybe, maybe not, but they'll most certainly be lower than they are now. Right now for people who didn't prepare for the dark winter while everything was cheap and available, I would just focus on a different hobby until the fall or so and then take a look back at the firearms/ammo market to see where it is. Or hell, even just get into surplus bolt actions or something.
>>
>>48425160
I agree about the ammo. I'm not even shooting my guns right now, sadly. The good thing is that if you ever wanted something with an obscure chambering, now is the time to buy it. Nobody wants a PS90 right now when the ammo is $2.50 per round.

The shop I work at hasn't gotten any 5.7 ammo since last March. At least with 9mm we're getting it in on a weekly or so basis. It's just not near enough to keep up with demand. We have to put most of the piddly amount we get aside to reserve for customers buying a 9mm pistol from us so they'll actually have ammo for it. People usually don't want to buy a gun they can't get ammo for.
However, we've been able to get 7.62x54R, 6.5 Carcano, 7.5 Swiss, 7.5 Jap, and other milsurp-type calibers.

>PS90s have gone way up in price though.
Really? I barely ever saw them on Fuddbroker before the panic. Now there's plenty of them on there.
>>
>>48423059
Yes, I have one and have used it on multiple AKs. It reduces muzzle jump better than a slant brake, but nothing special. Definitely not as effective at reducing jump as a true AK74/AK100 muzzle brake like. My SGLs with the Arsenal AK100-type muzzle brakes have less recoil and muzzle jump than the JCOMP v2 on my Vepr FMs and SAM7R, and the SGLs are much, much lighter. The only thing I suspect does better than the AK74 type muzzle brake is the Jetcomp, but I haven't tried one yet.
>>
>>48425332
Yeah, the base black model with the dumb top rail is averaging like $1900-2000 on gunbroker now. I agree that there are more out there, but it seems like the price of every gun has gone up 10-20% this year.

I paid $1500 for mine a year ago, an ODG Gen 2 with a black ring sight.

I want a P-chan, but I guess I'll just hold off for now. That gun is the epitome of something you buy just to say you have one. I guess the next thing I'll waste my money on in a Perst-3, even though I don't have night vision right now. I'm afraid the government might clamp down on them soon now that the normalfags are catching on that they're better than civilian LAMs you can buy in the United States. I also want to buy a Dead Air Wolverine whenever Silencer Shop gets more of them.
>>
>>48425334
Oh damn thanks a bunch. For the price point, JCOMP seems pretty good, but I'll consider these other ones as well. I believe I need a 14-1 LH thread, so I'll see if those are offered in that.
>>
>>48425383
kek I bought an Aimpoint Micro low mount for an AK from LaRue a few years ago. That was enough for me. I use American Defense for my Poorfag Arms ACSS optics now.
>>
>>48425310
>>48425354
I'm only giving them the benefit of the doubt in this case because there was a lot of other bubba hackjob shit done to the rifle. Like I'm pretty sure the Romanians sent out canted sight posts, not ones that looked like they were dipped in red fingernail polish for MAXIMUM TACTICAL ADVANTAGE.

DA wolverine is absolutely amazing. I cant remember where I found mine, but it wound up being cheaper even after my dealers $120 NFA transfer fee than going through silencershop and a powered dealer.

Perst-3 is the Zenit/russian version of a PEQ-15 right? What do those go for used? I swear I used to see them used on AKfiles for like $400 unless I'm thinking of something else.

Honestly the PS90 is a fucking awesome little gun. 50 rounds of viable fighting ammunition on tap, barely any recoil, and a gun that is barely longer than a folded krink despite having a 10" barrel. It's sad it's cucked by the NFA because it's an incredibly clever and well designed little gun.
>>
>>48425485
Perst-4 is the $400 model, it lacks an illuminator but has a full power aiming laser in vis and IR. Perst-3 is the PEQ-equivalent, vis laser, IR laser, IR illuminator. There is also the Perst-2 for 2 grand that includes a white light so you have everything in one unit.
>>
>>48425542
Seems like buying the perst-4 and an $80 IR flashlight to mount separately is the option for the budget minded.
>>
So for the m70, if I want to put on a flashlight, I should get a barrel attached rail and it gets slotted in around where the front sling point is? Anyone have any good pictures of theirs? I'd love to see how a few setups look.

There's a Silencer Shop platinum dealer less than five minutes from my job, so that's where I buy all my silencers. I also have a gift certificate for SS, so whatever. I would totally buy a PS90 for $1500, but I'm not spending $1900+ on one if what you say about the current prices is true.
>>48425542
It's easier to get the Perst-3 than the 4 right now. Does the 3 really have more IR output than something like a Surefire Vampire? They claim the IR illuminator is 500mW, but that seems unrealistic.
>>

brandon you rat fuck hurry up
>>
>>48425563
It rocks, probably the best IR budget setup. Even with the most gucci IR flashlights like modlite it's pretty affordable and those are powerful enough to give full power laser illumination a run for its money and blow the shitty civilian PEQs out of the water.
>>
>>48425590
Try one of these if you want to mount a white light on an AK as close to the muzzle as possible without buying a full retard rail:
http://cdmgear.com/riflelightmounts.html
>>
>>48425623
>as close to the muzzle as possible
To make it even more front heavy?
>>
>>48425636
So you won't cast a huge shadow from your muzzle and front sight block, silly.
>>
>>48425647
Yeah I don't think that really matters.
>>
>>48425623
Do these work well? I've never bought a rifle light and am unsure if they are generally a uniform diameter to be able to utilize the hole that the light mount you provided has.
>>
I feel this might be a good place to ask.
Where and how can I buy a PKM or a PKP?
I've checked auction sites like RI for months, gunbroker etc etc and I can't find any of them.
I imagine registered pre-1986 ones are slightly rare but I'm just surprised that I can't even find hints of them anywhere.

Your best bet is to buy a kit and have it built. IIRC there were like 100 semi auto PKMs released and built like ten years ago. I've seen one pop up for sale, ever. PKM kits trickle in, Apex had Yugo ones just a month or two ago and I've seen two or three pop up on AKfiles.

Thats it dog. If you're looking for a transferable one then I'd give up.
>>
>>48425698
Parts kit build is probably the easiest route. You'd have to reweld the receiver and probably turn your own barrel blank.
>>
>>48425743
Fuck. I was hoping to avoid a kit. I'd prefer a transferable one but I guess a semi auto one might be what I have to settle with.
>>
>>48422511
what site?
>>
>>48425743
>>48425751
Apparently there is more than a dozen registered but the last time they went up for sale was for over $200,000. Which is a bit rich for my blood. I was hoping they would be similar to M60 pricing but I guess that was just a pipe dream.
fuck, it would probably be easier and cheaper to get the licensing to make post samples than to afford one at that price.

Then 6 months later they all bought ZPAPs, Rileys, and VSKAs and drove the prices up. Not to mention I seriously doubt any of the usual manufactures are even producing those rounds right now

Are lights and optics necessary on a SHTF rifles or are they reserved for AR larping?

Dumb nigger G2 binds on bolt carriers
>>
milled x39 underfolder
where get
>>
>>48431469
I got mine, bitch
>>
7.62x39 has remained cheap during the ammo shortage averaging 38 cents per round vs. 83 to 1 dollar per round for 5.56x45.

Any idea why this is the case?
>>
>>48431665
If your G2 is binding on your bolt carrier you have a shit gun or it's put together wrong, stupid. Stop riding your bolt carrier forward
>>
>>48431714
That 38 cents per round 7.62x39 is hollow close range training ammo. That 83 cents to 1 dollar per round 5.56 is FMJ Tula or M193 or M855
>>
>>48431664
Yes, the actual gun you use matters very little so long as it's at least semi auto. All the real advancements in the past couple decades have been in optics. For self defense a light is pretty much mandatory and optics improve your ability to hit things farther, faster, and more accurately. Yeah you can ding steel at 400 with your irons all day but there is no question that a red dot or scope is a big improvement, especially against moving, mostly concealed, and camouflaged targets.

Ironic considering you couldn't refute my post lmao. Your gun is shit
>>
unbelievable to me, but i just sold a zpap for $1600. krink, rpk or rpk kit, what next? got my stamped/milled/5.45 meme rifles. i can't honestly think of something i could want that could fill a spot. i considered a dead air wolverine but then that's nfa shit and i'm then "listed" which i would prefer not to be. but then if I ended up getting a sam7k i would like to form 1 it with the ak74su handgaurd. dunno bros, i didn't expect to have this much cash from a memepap.
>>
>>48431784
>muh debate of high level ideas
Even Century dropped the G2 for their own 56% trigger
>>
>>48431795
How did you sell it? Probably will be worth more than $1600 in a few months
>>
>>48431795
You're already listed, just get the Wolverine if you're at all interested in shooting suppressed. I have one at my dealer range right now and it's a ton of fun.
>>
>>48431829
fuddbroker. i put maybe 200 rounds through it this year after snagging it. straight sights, nice rifle, good tiger striping furniture. just wanted the money and i have pretty much everything i need out of my sam7sf and fox. i considered the lynx pistol or maybe that beryl 556 shit but then i'd have another caliber to deal with. shit is burning a hole in my pocket.
>>
>>48431868
yeah fair enough point bro we're all listed somewhere. bit torn between the wolverine and that. i did also get someone to offer a BNIB 5.45 vepr to me ... but that's 3.2k and the life of 5.45x39 seems to be fairly limited and for that price tag, i think i'd have to sell something else.
>>
>>48431896
I love my Vepr FM-AK74 but it's not worth $3.2k, especially with 5.56 AKs going through a resurgence.
You could buy three nice suppressors with tax stamps for that much and completely up your shooting game in one move. Do it.
>>
>>48431665
>retard zoomer who got into AKs after 2016 confuses the G2 trigger with the G2 hammer
lmfao
G2 hammer geometry was shit (but fixable). G2 trigger was actually pretty good.
>>
>>48431929
i see dead air wolverines listed for like, what, $729 at the cheapest but it's backordered? if I get one on backorder i'd just have to wait but could still fill out the form 4? i've never done an nfa form before so I'm a bit clueless and surely there is more reading that's better than your time wasted spoonfeeding me. the more i think about it I would really like an RPK build or a sam7k. idk guys, any more thoughts?
>>
I have 5 AKs, but I'm considering ordering one of the ZPAPs just for the fuck of it cause they look and feel cool. I already have two SGL21s, a SAM7, and two Vepr FMs. I really have no excuse to be buying another AK. Should I do it anyway?
>>
>>48431995
how about something not chambered in trash? That would freshen up your collection

Then you made the right choice selling it. Go for a pistol and faux krink it or RPK follow your heart anon. You gotta replace that AK though. Probably best to find an import
>>
>>48431973
You can set up an NFA trust through an online company for ~$50. You'll get the paperwork within an couple hours, print, sign, witness, and notarize. If you use silencer shop, it costs a bit more but pretty much everything is done for you on the submission. Just buy your suppressors and stamp, submit info and prints, e-sign the paperwork, attach your trust, and wait 130-365+ days.
If something is backordered, you unfortunately won't be able to submit the form 4 until a serial is assigned.

5.45 is a meme niche round

It's a not-a-WASR WASR-tier rifle for a grand. You're definitely paying the idiot tax on that one.
>>
>>48432117
But it is a WASR. Different gas block and sights, but everything else is WASR and from Romania
>>
>>48432077
Try and score the fox next week for just a bit extra. True romy import, but it'll be worth it to not have to look at the comboblock.

that bake is almost mint condition anon, very pretty. i debated selling it for about 2 months - wasn't an easy choice - but I looked at it and never really loved it. I love my fox like a baby and my sam7sf too with my tantal build like my retarded third child. pic rel is the fox with a polish fat grip on it, if you could find one it really does match a bit better. nontheless mirin that and the 556 beryl. i considered that as an option on my list as well.
>>48432064
i found one in stock for $750. maybe i pull the trigger on it sooner rather than later. is the wait time really that long now?

Basically confirmed by Atlantic earlier today that FB Radom has 5.56 Beryl rifles coming in. The 22lr imports are also confirmed dead.
>>
>>48432152
The sooner you buy it the sooner it will come off of backorder and be ready to submit your form 4. Can also use some of that time to get your paperwork sorted.

>that bake
thanks m8 I bought it at a gun show back in 2009 for $15, I didn't even have an AK back then I just knew I'd want one someday. I should have bought more but I didn't have money I was a teenager. Fox bro, I got one on the way and I'm very excited. I got lucky and snagged one last week. Can't wait. That bake looks to be in great condition too. Hope my Fox looks that gorgeous. Got a link for the Polish fat grips? I've been about to order one but nowhere does it say thick or fat, just Polish. I don't want a standard sized Polish grip. I want a fat one are they all fat?
>>
>>48432262
So Zastava will have competition for their upcoming 5.56 rifle? Good that will reduce both prices and give us more choices
>>

Very true. Might go through with this soon. Thank you for the info.
>>48432317
This bake is pretty good, with a nice rack # carved into one side of it. I have another one as well with some cyrillic stabbed into it too. Unfortunately I snagged mine both IRL at a show and on the files, so I can't be any help. Just try for a polish one in orange and you can see what you get. I just really dislike the darker tones of the romanian and in my pic you can see I took it off. "Polish fatty" is the terminology for them, just make sure you don't order a romanian. It's about 25% bigger than the romanian and 922r compliant american plastic ones. it feels really good desu. could always try the files if you are on there.
>>
>>48432340
Competition is always good, will definitely have to pick a Beryl up if they're imported again.
Also now that I'm re-reading same thing with WBP perhaps. Maybe more.
>>
>>48432380
Yes, that's the orange fat one similar (but they're all unique) that I have. I also have some nice polish mags and a WBP smoke mag that looks really nice on it too. Polish parkerized steel mags really make it look good. I'll drop a few pics tomorrow but that link looks g2g.

This is the flip side of that same bake you liked, I didn't know "120" was a rack number thank you. I'll order that Apex Polish grip and I won't even be mad if it's not fat, it's only $25 and I love collecting all the different colors of those things. Just got a Russian plum one but I don't have a Polish yet. Yeah please post more pics whenever

yeah. No seriously, yeah. The romanian "good" condition mags on What a Country are also great. Not any better but will probably be in better condition for the same price. I ordered 3 and they were pristine new old stock
