say something nice about iran's new helicopter carrier
>>47966379it floats!
>>47966383https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWQdB5SRv1s>It FlOaTs
>>47966379Does it even have an elevator for aircraft or is it just a freighter or tanker with a landing platform welded on?
>>47966379Nice boat.
>>47966379I'm impressed enough that damn thing actually floats...
>>47966389Iran still hasn't cleaned up the wreck.
>>47966379It will make a very nice artificial reef when a Burke sinks it.
>>47966552couldn't you hook up some tug boats and like drag it onto the beach?
Why is the small peen gang so afraid of Iran?
>>47966566>Drag a shipwreck across the seabedYeah retard. Totally. Not even a boatfaggot but that's dumber than Iran's new carrier.
>>47966582Their new carrier can carry 1k ton of fuel and water though. That's a pretty good resupply ship as well, for being non-nuclear.
>>47966570Israel? Their military is a shadow of it's former self. They have the same problems the west has with lip wristed generations of wannabe youtube superstars and a military not designed for mobility or fighting outside it's boarders. They don't even have a standard MRE.
>>47966566Just think about how you only need a relative small anchor to hold an aircraft carrier in place. Now imagine that wreck as an anchor.
>>47966589It's a fucking repurposed container ship with a still plate bolted on it that likely is going to crumple after a few dozen sorties.
>>47966598>>47966582my only point is that it is relatively close to land and it seem like there is a KISS solution that could at-least get it further out of the way of shipping lanes.>I live in the mountains I don't go out to sea much.
>>47966609Imagine trying to push or drag a 40 pound rock in a pond. The seabed isn't solid like your bathtub surface. It'd be easier to tear it apart using cutting tools.
>>47966553lol wtf. With what? 8 Harpoons? kek.
>>47966592>Israel? Their military is a shadow of it's former self. They've never been strong. They only really had to compete with a post-colonial Egypt.
>>47966627so crush it up on the spot and scrap the parts on a barge?
>>47966600well it is not a bad way to go. I betcha that USNavy has an emergency plan to do the same should shit hit the fan... Think about it.You start with an empty seaworthy long endurance ship that takes couple months to build. Nothing fancy about it, built as cheap as possible, thousands of them already in the water, ready to be repurposed (if shtf naval trading will be limited anyway) No internal structure limitations, it is a big void which has easy access from above to do remodeling and reinforcing as you please. Add bulkheads to make it very, very difficult to sink by a random mine/missile just by the sheer reserve buoyancy. Still have plenty of displacement left, those hulls are designed to carry more cargo weight (DWT) than a freaking loaded aircraft carrier weights on its own! (neopanamax ships carry 120 000t and they are not even the largest out there).
>>47966600That's fucking genius if you ask me. I wish we could be as economical. I've been hearing our EM cats don't even work.
>>47966650Burke's don't even have harpoons lol, the Ticons do
>>47966660>the US navy does this all the timeits nothing special.
>>47966670Does what? Build carriers from cargo ships?
>>47966683bongs did it successfully when Falkland happened
>>47966683the problem with this Iranian carrier is that they have no way to store extra helicopters, they have to be on deck at all times. the US destroyers and cruisers that have heli-decks at-least have a garage
>>47966383fpbp
>>47966687So you've changed from "America does this all the time" to "the British did this fifty years ago"? What kind of coping mechanism is this?>>47966720That's pretty irrelevant when the cruising range for the carrier is going to be near it's own shores. It's just for extending the range of it's helo assets for ASW ops.
>>47966738I think that is what the Iranians are trying to do, but on a larger scale.
>>47966687Those were troop carriers and logistical vessels. Not aircraft carriers.
>>47966379For its likely role it's sufficient and cost efficient.
>>47966379Looks vaguely like the American expeditionary sea bases. Wonder if it will try to fulfill a similar role or it is really just a jury rigged carrier like Atlantic Conveyor.
>>47966379>say something nice about iran's new helicopter carrierIt's got a nice flat top. Looks like a converted ship so they're getting their money's worth out of it too.
say something nice about iran's new F-35 killer.
>>47966379Very economical.
>>47966848looks expensive just to launch an AAM. not a bad idea though I think we may already have something like that.
>>47966379uhhhh no ramp?
>>47966977>heli-carrier
>>47966990I was just trying to say something nice
>>47966650Maybe 20 Tomahawks, actually.
>>47966848It's got admirable self-esteem.
>>47966977CATOBAR, what do you think they needed the nuclear reactors for?
>>47966379>deck welded to a container shipBased and 1920s pilled
>>47966848Thats about as cool as a woman driving a car while eating a ham sandwich.
>>47966379I wonder what a full canopy of solar panels would do? Surely it'd be enough to power a tanker.
>>47967165>Thats about as cool as a woman driving a car while eating a ham sandwich.I can fap to that.
>>47966379Looks like it does what it’s supposed to. I bet some richanon could use his Bitcoin earnings to make one.
>>47966805doesn't have the cranes or under-deck storage the ESBs have. Also doesn't have a well deck or complimentary ESD like the ESBs have.
>>47966379For what purpose? >>47966389>Approaching a CVN in swift boats and trying to board itI really want some of what Iran is on. I know it's propaganda intended for their own consumption but when they go to far an actually start a war, I wonder what their plan is.
Say something nice about us drone RQ-4A Global Hawk.
>>47968353>they>start a warJIDF, the one bombing warehouses in Syria and cutting power and killing scientists in Iran while also having it's client state park it's super carriers off its coast is the one trying to start a war.
>>47966592Not fighting for a long time against a professional force will do that to you.
>>47966566Just getting shit off the seafloor in the first place is incredibly tough.Pic related; It took this much infrastructure and like a month of pulling just to unstick the Oklahoma from the seabed.
>>47966379is that the new tennis court for persian gulf open?
>>47966379This ship design might not be so laughable if Iran can use it to launch and recover MALE-class or higher drones
>>47966566>ook up some tug boats and like drag it onto the beach? What the fuck am I reading???
>>47966552>clean it up Iranny
Say something nice about the Sahand
>>47972992Apparently they can launch some lite reconnaissance drones but no ability to recover. It’s a ship that’s probably good enough to help the IRN perform some ISR and minor logistical support, but I sure as fuck wouldn’t want to be on it if there’s another shooting war at sea with the USN.
>>47969027There is no indication of this.
>>47977409Sure there isn't....
>>47966848How’s it feel to be on defense all the time.
>>47966379something nice about iran's new helicopter carrier
>>47966566Wow. You should probably bid on that job. You would win it hands down with such a low cost solution.
>>47977846Only after finishing the contract to dredge up the Titanic with some secondhand tugs I got for cheap from an old buddy of mine. Gotta wonder why it took so long for anyone to do it, it's the easiest job of my life.
Why don't they use massive shipping container ships as guided missile platforms? You could probably launch thousands from one of those.
ITT: mutt zoglings hating on based iran.
>>47977409Are you blind or retarded?
>>47968565Say something nice about the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.
>>47980370how they get away with it ?
>>47980370Say something nice about US forces crying like little bitches.
>>47980370Genuinely asking, why haven’t US of Amerimutts haven’t invaded Iran despite their incompetence?
>>47980370That whole saga was amazing>The US slaughters your top general>Vow immediate revenge >Lunch a missile strike in retaliation, hit nothing of value>Down an airliner full of your own people as it's taking off in your own capital>Dozens get trampled to death during the general's funeral>>47982186It's not worth it. Keep Iran contained and out of the Strait. No need to go invade and have casualties.
>>47966379It'll make a striking photo when it gets cracked in half with a Mk 48
>>47982220But we need more people to die for Israel, anon. There's a quota.
>>47982186Because of the ratfuck that was Iraq
>>47982220>Keep Iran contained and out of the StraitDoing that is an act of war. They have the right of free passage and most of it is their waters anyways.
>>47982220it gets better.>kills own scientist>blames the isrealies>get caught by own evidence>isrealies take credit anyways>scientist is a wanted international criminalhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96rvHAVIWX0
>>47966379oh yes it floats https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bwq4kpKEIPA
>>47982186There needs to be a reason to keep selling our shit to the arab countries for the big bucks. Also it's basically unifying the entire ME against a common enemy.
>>47982186The real redpill is no one really cares.Israel hardly even cares though they care the most naturally. They just complain all the time and whine because they're jews
>>47966379At least Iran has one more carrier than Russia which currently has zero operational aircraft carriers
>>47985933Their country is so large their fighters can reach any place on earth by taking off from within their borders. Do they really need carriers?
>>47967041So I can plug my xbox in?
>>47986035yeah, to keep the bears from sniffing fuel.
>>47986035Putin has small dick syndrome and wants Russia to have an aircraft carrier at all cost.
>>47986035yeah but their shit is so ancient, NORAD lets canada deal with it
>>47966379Pretty crisp paint job desu
>>47966379Did they just slap a flight deck on an old oil tanker and call it a day?
>>47986218>deal with itThey dont even deviate from their route, thats just an escort.
>>47966379it seems like they got it for a steal
>>47968565is hot
>>47966848its good at fallowing chaff
>>47980489at least they can cry, unlike those souless Shia bastards
>>47966379Malaysia and 90s China did improv helocarriers better.
>>47966379Except its purpose is not to be a carrier, it is supposed to be a mobile base. I suspect it to be useful for operations in Yemen and Venezuela. In purpose it is comparable to the USNS Lewis B. Puller, pic related. If it is indeed up to the task is another matter entirely.
It floats.For now.
>>47966379I expected worse.
>>47966660>Waste container ships with metal fatigue instead the building purpose made shipsYeah dude absolutely infinite genius Galaxy brain levels right here
>>47966379It makes Rodoil and Nelsoil look like marvels of engineering
>>47966379It'll make a fine reef alongside the Sahand
>>47966379I don't like Israel, but after learning that Iran has the highest percentage of Trannies in their population, they lost any credibility in my mind.Just think, one of the trannies that posts here is likely from Iran.
>>47989973It is slightly complicated. Homos in Iran are given a choice>Deathor>Sex change
