It does kinda suck, but I try to suck it up. I like having 4 extra mags on me.
>>
>>46032801
The /gq/ consensus is that drop legs are laughable.
They are not conducive with running, or long periods of physical exertion, which is 90% of actual soldiering/combat.
Drop legs only work for mostly stationary positions.
>>
>>46032878
Put em in your pack dummy
>>
>>46032858
It really is. For some reason to me it is way more intimidating than multicam. When I see feds in multicam I think meh, could be anyone. When I see feds in OD I think oh shit, who are those guys? One time I saw the president drive by and one of the SUV's had the windows down and the guys inside were all wearing OD gear. They looked badass.
>>
I'm looking at some Bigfoot Gunbelts, and was wondering which size I should get: 14oz or 18oz.

The 14oz height would allow it to easily fit in any of my pants, the 180z may not fit into some of my pants.
The 180z seems to be the go to for those who open/conceal carry a full sized hand gun.
I plan on CC'ing a micro compact double stack 9mm semi with two 12rd spare begs on the same gun belt. Would a 14oz be able to support all that weight? 18oz seems over kill for a little gat like I have, but those who say they the 180z is a much for full sized handguns do not mention if they carry spare mags. So I am assuming the small compact pistol alone would easily work with the 140z, but not sure if the added weight of the two extra mags would still let it work.
>>
>>46032953
Or get a chest rig/PC.
>>
>>46032894
They have a small number of extremely niche uses but yeah for basic infantry shit and/or civvy gooning, they're fucking terrible.
>>
>>46032982
Home defense against antifa mob. I have 5 mags on my belt with the dropleg, subload and then 4 mags on my PC.
If I'm the next McCloskey, this is how I'm coming out.
>>
>>46033013
You're dumb and are gonna die on your back after you trip and fall from having 5lbs swinging around bashing you in the nuts every time you so much as turn at a reasonable speed.
>>
>>46033013
You think you're going to go through 10 mags? Every time a gun goes off they scatter like roaches.
>>
>>46033013
I feel you dude.
You're probably gtg. People here like to stick to a very specific meta
As long as your gear works for you--and More importantly, you train with it, you're fine. There is no standardization on gear.
>>
>>46032878
Get a chest rig then you goof
>>46033013
You won't ever burn through a single mag in home defense, and a mob isn't coming for your house you tard. Plus it's easier to draw mags from a chest rig than dropleg
>>
>>46033013
get rid of the dropleg, take the 4 rifle mags from that and put them on your PC, and then lose the 2 pistol mags on the dropleg because you had 2 pistol mags on regular belt

Appreciate the advice. I actually practice alot with my gear, different firing positions, bounding drills etc. This dropleg doesn't seem like such a big issue and serves my autistic needs for a shitload of ammo pretty well.
Not very well recommended for long VERY hikes though. It works well for MOUT stuff with me. Also, this is my go-to pouch for prone reloads.
>>
I got some surplus Drifire longsleeve shirt for cheap as fuck and it feels amazing to train in, doesn't get wet or sweaty at all. Is it worth full price to buy the T-shirt version of it from another source?

I'm a poorfag that wants a helmet. Why shouldn't I get a UHMWPE MICH2000+ on AliExpress or Ebay? Something like a Militech or a LongFri? $200 and seems good enough since I'm not planning on going to war with it.

Anon in other thread suggested an FMA at $160 but all I'm seeing is plastic airsoft replicas.

You can rig up a ballistic CVC helmet for a little over a hundred. Granted you should just peruse your local milsurp shop for an ACH. But the CVC is comfy and sits between an ACH and bump helmet with regards to weight/protection.

Thoughts on 6x6 vs 6x8"?
Wait till you see the carrier setup I've got going on. It is a wug of carriers. I took a used 500D Shellback Banshee in RG that I got off of tacswap, used a razor blade to cut the front flap kangaroo pouch off. Installed ITW Swift Clip female clips on the front end for placards, snagged a Beez Combat laser cut cummerbund Tubes retrofit cummerbund kit and threw that on. The new Tubes are super slick and fast to don/doff, the cummerbund is comfy, as are the shellback with the elite shoulder pads (why I went back to this carrier in the first place), and now I'm installing Grey Ghost Gear Tactical Tailor laser cut Crye pattern zip panel adapters on the back.

Nice that Grey Ghost Gear, Crye, and Tactical Tailor finally are going towards a shared zip panel system.

Got a TMC airshit knockoff of the Crye Pouch Zip panel 2.0 coming next week ($80 vs $320). If I like the pocket/panel layout enough I'll just get the CRYE. If not, I might check out the Grey Ghost blank panel and build something myself.

I hope that the zip panel system is tight.

Call and talk to the postmaster or carrier supervisor first thing in the morning on Monday, give them the tracking number and tell them what's going in. They will have the carrier stop there during their route to get it back. I'm not sure with corona but usually you can ask to meet the carrier or get them to bring it to your house or hold it at the PO. That's the SOP. If the person won't give the package to the carrier theyll get the supervisor involved and elevate it to police or postal inspectors.
Tracking numbers have geotags attached to delivery scans btw so you shouldn't have anything to worry about if your carrier is good.

Suppressors work by trapping and redirecting gas, so of course it won’t work as well as a 9mm can
What do you consider effective?

Right. Obviously shooting 9mm with a 9mm suppressor would be ideal, but if a 45 suppressor quiets 9mm down to where I don't need earpro, I'd consider that "effective".

Oh, definitely. But even with a Western company there are no guarantees. Currently debating if I should go with a $30 Nalgene bottle + a substantial amount of money worth of additional crap or cough up $75 for this kit.

Pine needle tea is weird. The one time I tried it I found it a bit odd on the palate, but I see room to experiment with it.

Really depends on what species of pine, and also a lot of people confuse other conifers with pine. I once watched a girl make "pine" needle tea with spruce. She was a dumb whore.
>>
>>46036978
Eh, spruce is edible. And spruce tea is a thing. Yew is the bad one. That and spikey-coned pine variants, if I have my woodlore correct.
>>
>>46037009
spruce is edible, sure, my point is people confuse it and fir and douglas-fir and pine. Don't know about the spikey cone thing, I think that might be false because gray pine is spikey and pretty sure that's one to make tea from
>>
>>46037174
>Don't know about the spikey cone thing, I think that might be false because gray pine is spikey and pretty sure that's one to make tea from
Reading up, seems right. The fruit of gray pine is listed as edible. Not sure about tea, though. Was really hoping there was a solid rule to differentiate the edible pine species from the poisonous pine species, but it appears not.
>>
>>46037235
Well, pine needles are never poisonous, I really don't think any part of the pine is. You might get a tummyache if the needles have needle scale (like an insect type thing) but other than that you'd be fine. Mistletoe might fuck you up depending on the species, mistletoe is actually a parasite and dwarf mistletoe can be a big problem on lodgepole pine
>>
>>46037435
I have read ponderosa is toxic and not good for tea.

>if so, is trybe a reputable brand?
Too new for any rep at all, either good or bad. The housing looks to be not quite mil-spec unless some new mfg makes the external contacts like that now, so mil-spec subassemblies may not work for repairs but most or all accessories will work.

Just be prepared for a significantly longer wait than whatever they estimate on the product page.
>>
>>46038867

in a city/urban area with lots of ambient light, gen 2+ is fine. I have a nvm-14 housing with gen 2+ photonis xd-4 tube in it. I got mine for 900$. I take walks in a city with a few parks and trails in it, when it's super dark outside and i'm in a trail with a bunch of trees blocking all the light, i cant see SHIT. the safariland als doesn’t really fit like a typical holster, there is minimal contact between the body of the gun and the body of the holster meaning it’s much more forgiving with lights and shit. i wouldn’t worry but if you want to make sure, they have a list of all compatible guns and lights for each holster on its webpage.

I never said that. Under very limited circumstances it will outperform Gen 3. Gen 3 will almost always compete for clarity, and will usually beat Gen 2. Overall, I believe Gen 3 will always beat Gen 2 for best condition resolution. Keep this in mind if you need to read with it.

Just for the rattle factor. It's nothing serious and I never said that it was. It's already there so I use it. No biggie. Toss yours in the trash if you like. It makes no difference to me. Regardless, its a good holster.

Anon, you are incredibly based.
I have one last question for you, if you would; can you recommend a harness/liner?
Anything else im missing?

LBX can be had on eBay for $50.
50% will call it airlarp shit
50% will say it's LBT with just oversea labor which the govt wouldn't tolerate for .gov

Yes, I should have been more clear on this. Gen 2 that competes well with Gen 3 costs comparably with Gen 3. The best Gen 2 from Photonis will cost more than most Gen 3.

Hold on, I never said that, let's not get ahead of ourselves

>can you recommend a harness/liner?
I am extremely partial to Oregon Aero because of the comfy factor.
>Anything else im missing?
Any good, basic chinstrap from OpsCore, Revision, TW, etc. will do the job. Frankly, the budget ACH chinstraps are breddi gud. Don't be a faggot - use a nice, sharp drill when you need to drill holes.

pic related is a friends kind of shit gen 3 compared to my really good quality gen 2+
gen 3 = 1
gen 2+ = 2
This is with quite a bit of ambient light, and his is still crisper. If it's really dark out, and i'm under trees, it's literally just a tiny bit better than having no nods at all.

Under those lighting conditions. With supplemental IR (which I know you have) you can see quite well almost anywhere. Yes, anyone with NODs will see your supplemental IR, but no one else will.

Any rule of thumb whether your ifak goes on your pc or belt ... or both?
Setting up my first kit thinking things are only going to get worse as we get into election time. Any general resource for laying things out?

Yes, with the light, I can see everything like it's daytime. Without it, I can't see shit. I only use it when I'm alone because my other nods friends will be annoyed with my light. All you can see with you naked eye is like a tiny tiny hint of red on the glass of the light.

Much appreciated, that seems to make sense if the belt is seen as primary and armor secondary.
