Someonw explain british helms to me. They sell modern brit surplus online and i like their round helmets.
>>40250202>British kit edition>Picture of awful equipmentyou had one job
Gotta love that old school British DPM
anyone know anything about PGD helmets? Tempted to pick one up for the price
>>40250524Imported Chinese helmets with no batch testing.
>>40250322Got any pics of the old British SF aesthetics that’s not the black suits
>>40250202brit kit is shit desu
If I were to buy a Velocity systems chest rig, which one should I get? Mostly using it for vehicle-borne shit, using an AR. Gen IV, V or VI?
>>40251415I’d say early Afghanistan/Iraq, the older stuff tends to be mostly olive drab or black, more recent stuff they have gone with a lot of SF and went variations of Multicam/OCP.The early stuff had the old DPM, I remember seeing one video of what I believe was an SBS guy in a navy blue t shirt, DPM pants just loosing off rounds from a roof.
>>40251445Yeah I have some but desu I don't really want to dump, also previous image was SBS with two snipers when UKSF still wore DPM.
>>40250281New ones are called virtus. That replaced the mark 7. The mk7 replaced the mk 6 and mk6 helmets, which are the round brimmed domed shape.Virtus is excellent, light and easily adjusted. Can't comment on it's protective ability
>>40252502back story to this please? is he sas?
Does anyone here have experience with ANA tactical?
>>40250202brit kit = shit kit
>>40252631U wot mate
Can anyone identify this bag/satchel thing?
>>40252418Yes I know my rug is stupendous
>>40252463Why is it that I only really see the British still working with Boonies as a standard training thing?
>>40252945Oi bring the crumpets this tea is getting cold
>>40253121Because looking ally is half the battle
>>40253121Light patrol order/helmets carried is a thing, especially in hot weather where training staff are told to avoid heat injuries as much as possible
>>40253121Canadian Forces still do. You will primarily notice underfunded units wearing it them when its snowing during spring.
I want a simple belt for carrying a pistol and mags, a couple pouches, and maybe a canteen. I am thinking some older alice style, is that still pretty good?
>>40254921You may want something a little more rigid unless you plan on running suspenders with it
>>40254921Any good velcro webbing double belt system will work well for what you need while also giving you a minimalist inner belt that you can use for CC everyday.
>>40254951I currently use a surplus bosnian rig for my ar mags, radio, and a couple glock mags, so idk if I can run suspenders with it.
>>40255165I’d suggest what >>40255115 said a rigid two part system though I’m not sure how much weight you really want to run on your belt
>>40252435they're just revision helmets lmao
>>4025492158 webbing has a Browning hi power holster that will fit a few pistols and is all stiff old canvas I like it
>>40256072he's looking for a belt not a holster
>>40255821See I’m really not a fan of ball caps or the US PCs I think they just look kinda stupid. At least with a bookie you can scrim it up.
>>40256178Quest 4D, though depends on what you want to use the boots for
are altama maritimes a meme or are they durable shoes?
>>40253079Cant tell without scale, but either a 100rd or 200rd linked ammo pouch. Looks like LBT/Eagle/Blackhawk/Etc, lot's of clones of that design.
>>40252566yea, SASsupport on a raid
>>40256811Thats not mutually exclusive. They wont fall apart, but they're still memey af. The /k/ equivalent of the "subtle anime tshirt".Mine were kind of stiff around the ankles, not as comfortable as real hitops and not as supporting as an actual serious boot.
>>40256181I mean the point of the pic was to show that other countries other than the UK uses boonies.
>>40256811i love mine. chucks explode on me after just a few months, but these have a one piece type sole or whatever. cant separate on me because its solid.
tell me about the SAS, why do they wear the mask?
>>40256895I know but The US seems to have moved away from it after the gulf war where you saw it all the time to now when it’s rarely seen outside of a few marine units it seems.
>>40256909thanks pham. gonna pick up a pair for larperating and classes.
Some fag in the barracks
>>40257018Cool gear. Post a picture of your gun.
>>40257050theyre pretty nice for casual stuff
>>40257466that mop is brand new. fix it.
>>40257526I live a very casual life. Just want to make sure my $100 isn't going down the drain.
>>40257466thx 4 ur servc
>>40257668they should only be around 80https://www.optactical.com/alotbmaasmid.htmlthey run narrow so check if you need wides
>>40257020As I posted, US units who have jungle training use them.
>>40258036I definitely don't need wides. thanks for the link tho.
>>40257520Warrior DCS with a QR
>>40250322Not to mention it's shitty surplus
>>40257020Standard on all 10th MTN deployments. >source 10th MTN
>>40256176You can wear 58 as just belt rig without the yoke. Belt will take a holster, canteen and utility pouch no problems
>>40257018I think since they working on home soil, it's to help hide their face
>>40250202>>40250202Wrong helmet>TFW got two Mk7s
>>40258945>>4025607258 pattern webbing is utter wank, it shrinks when it gets wet. Probably not an issue for shooting, but ask anyone who used it in the bong army, they all hate it
>>40252502>>40252566>>40256841kinda feel weired we are living through history right now, there were actual sas boys going in to capture terrorists in the london. I wonder how the future will be like
Has anyone fucked with the Inforce TFx hand held light? I want one but I will not fuck with it if it does not have a pocket clip.
>>40259346everything inforce makes is trash. unless you're buying it for Instagram, don't buy inforce.
>>40259382>no sourceIts a fucking $80 flashlight, it better be good.
>>40259382i have an inforce. the haley edition one thats just momentary. i like it but its only had maybe 500 rounds of 12g put next to it
>>40259427>$80 is expensive for a light lmao are you kidding? At least get a streamlight if you're going to be cheap.
/k/,I need recommendations for backpack that will serve as an operations and bugout bag. It's common to carry gun cleaning supplies for operations correct? Thanks.
>>40253079That has a smoke green look to it. Could be a pouch made by Paraclete
>>40259467this. they at least have a track record of not consistently shitting the bed
>>40259512Made me smile anon.
>>40259467I never said expensive. The last light I got was like a $30 chinesium. It lasted a little while then shit the bed. I was looking at inforce because Travis Haley worked with them to make >>40259449 so I assumed they'd be good. And costing more than twice as much as the thorfire piece of shit I bought last, I had hopes. But they were crushed. I red some of the reviews on amazon and the surprisingly few 1 star reviews made me lol. I might look at streamlight instead.
>>40259490>That has a smoke green look to it.The shape of the flap and the way the taped edge looks also makes me lean this way. If we could see the MOLLE attachment for it then we could confirm.
>>40257020everyone still has boonie hats the reason people don't wear them is because of gay regulations within the military for when you are allowed to wear them. helmets are also getting lighter and for non-special boy units who dont have opscores they also have gay rules about when they are allowed to take off their helmets and wear hats and when that hat can be a boonie and not a garrison cap. if we start fighting a real war. light units will not be required to wear helmets all the time while doing long range foot patrols and shit.
>>40259050As operational webbing it's wank, but for just screwing around innawoods it's a cheap and functional belt kit, that doesn't look too 'oper8tor'.
What is your ophinion about Blue force gear? Does it quality gear?
>>40261651a lot of quality stuff
>>40261328This is correct. We all prefer wearing boonies over helmets, but dress regs make you wear helmets a lot of the time. Tasking, the area you are in and the weather can all allow you to wear boonies over helmets though.
>>40259476I have a British surplus Bergan and that thing is cushy, I like the fact that I can take the sides on and off if I need to,
>>40259476Check out hill people gear. I like their umlindi as an assault pack that’s not obnoxiously moto.
>>40259476Exo Mountain GearMystery RanchKifaruUS Military SurplusKeltyEberlestockWisportIn that order. Don't get a ruck that's under 65 liters. Also don't get an assault pack before a rucksack.
Hi /k/,I'm looking for a pack setup that would have a small, preferrably attached to my PC, pack and a larger assault pack which I could throw on top of it.Smaller pack pack would be for carrying hydration and other small mission specific items. It would need to be relatively flat as I spend quite a lot of time mounted and the larger pack should be able to go on top of it.So far, the Haley Flatback has been the one to catch my eye regarding the smaller one. Is there better alternatives? Any factors that I might of missed that I should take into consideration?
anyone use one of these? buddy has one and he wants to get rid of it
>>40263551How much is he asking for it?
>>40251264Is that a P83 chest rig over his left shoulder?
>>40263562that was going to be my next question, not sure how much used would be worth. new they seem pricey, but he wasnt acting like he wanted very much. no plates either.
>>40250422I wish there were modern plate carriers in high D cordura DPM
>>40262813Why not just get a bladder pouch?>>40263849You are telling me
>>40259611inforce had hailey with them, because when they got started together, every single thing they sent to him was hand selected. then the chinks got lazy and he wised up.
>>40263888>>40263849On that note, where is that guy that makes gear, I know he is around I saw him post earlier, is it still possible to get British DPM fabric?
riddle me this /gq/:i need a molle compatible single pistol mag pouch. has so be open top so no flaps or bungees. i already got esstac kywis and tacos. i want something new and gucci but can't find something that's fresh and innovative.
>>40264242those are the two most fresh and innovative pouches on the market unless you want a polymer taco except you don't want bungees
>>40264258>those are the two most fresh and innovative pouches on the marketi was afraid of that. i also got some bfg tenspeed so those are out of the picture too. there has to be a manufacturer only my fellow gear nerds are aware of.
>>40263747They're below 150 on ebay. I'd say no, save up for another pc.
>>40264401it felt pretty well made, is there something wrong with them?could you suggest something else like that i could look into
I bet you all are too pussy too even wear your gear in public
>>40264659which Shoot Straight is this?
>>40263912You can still find dpm, but it's not the same fabric that is commonly used on current plate carriers. Poly/Cotton blends are what I've seen
>>40264989good. don't want that dickhead anywhere near me.t. anon who wears his larping belt at his local shoot straight while shooting
I wish this existed in higher res.
>>40265102Kid was super autismo, granted a kid. There were actually good prices there today actually, suprisingly. They had a 308 SCAR 20s for like 4300 but the dude said he could sell it for 3700.
>>40265234they're prices are usually pretty alright near me. usually within $50-100 of online prices. Their sales are usually pretty good. Got my p99c for $360 out the door and the AR556 and M&Psport2 are almost always under $500. Probably gonna grab a 1301T from them when i get around to it.
>>40263888Because it needs to hold more than just a hydration bladder.
>>40265287I haven't been in a while but they used to be shit. They did have new Beretta 92s (FS, Compact, A1, and A3) from like 430-800. I might buy through them next time because I have. A buddy who works there but I can prolly find better deals online still.
>>40265561Mine has horrible yelp and google maps reviews so I guess they're trying to turn it around.
Anyone know what kind of NVG cover is in pic related? Ive tried searching for scope/red dot/nvg covers in multicam, but cant find shit.
>>40264242Uh these aren't really that fresh or innovative but:>TYR happy mags, specifically the one with the kydex insert>Eagle FBs>First Spear multimags
are the Altama otb maritime assault low's actually good shoes? I need some summer shoes, and figured I may as well go the autistic route
>>40265809Asked the same thing earlier in this thread and another. Haven't heard anything negative yet. They aren't waterproof but by all accounts they're durable enough for casual larping.
>>40250524they also make this much more tactical one
>>40265184these guys should go out and fuck with those bigfoot hunters
>>40264659o' lord, also is that his daddy with him?
>>40264955This looks super cool. Good work

>>40266951ive never had that one, but i used to drink the original. but awesome gear man.all these options and opinions, not sure where to start!
>>40257018Did you paint the mags yourself?
can anyone tell me what holster i had for a meusoc 1911 in the marines?it was tan hard plastic. two stretchy bands went on the inside of the leg. the release was a button on the inside of the holster, which released a band covering the 1911 around the hammerwe called them 'safari holsters' because of the color. i think they made a version for the m9 as well, because there was a dispute about whether the 1911 would fit in the holster designed for a m9 + laser pointer.
>>40267174nevermind this is ithttp://www.safariland.com/products/holsters-and-gear/holsters/tactical-military-holsters/drop-rig/model-7004-sp10-7ts-sls-single-strap-tactical-holster-7004_SP10.html#start=1
>>40267174The brand is safariland. Idk the model. I was feeling retarded and considering buying that pistol and obviously wanted the marsoc holster. I understand that it's a custom job. Does anyone make an MBAV plate carrier about the price of a JPC?
>>40267068Read the paste bin in the OP join the discord. survive the bullying and ask intelligent questions. If you do your part and read and research before asking extremely general or dumb questions people will help you. Things you want to start with are what weapons do you have? what would be the make usage of your gear? what is your budget? do you want armor or not?if you just want to go to the range a plink targets we will give you completely different suggestions than if you want to ruck march or do a full larp operation with your friends in the woods.
>>40267068the white one is a like a lemonaid flavored sugar free version. I started drinking them because of the memes but the are actually pretty good. I like them more than the normal monster.
>>40263551hey i have one of those. i was just going to give it to a buddy for free or keep it as a loaner when i get a new plate carrier. i dont like it. its got too much shit going on and its uncomfortable. also its one of those quick release ones and it seems like it needs to be adjusted often
>>40263938wats this dangle bob?
>>40267659>didn't reverse the flag on right shoulder
>>40267705fuck you right, i didnt draw the image but i should have noticed that while editing.
>>40267659It's funny, I used to drink the white monster and I wore blue shorts a lot. I also hung out with a guy named Chad who did whatever the hell he wanted and got laid a lot. It wasn't until years later I saw the Chad/virgin and 30 yo boomer memes. We unironically were those guys.
>>40267613The 2.0 is basically a molle MBAV. Sure, its not as /gq/ chic but the functionality is identical, with the added bonus of bungee adjustment.
>>40267896I didn't think the 2.0 took MBAV soft armor panels.
>>40267942Are you talking about the eagle mbav? Disregard what I said then, I was talking about the crye.
>>40267981I mean a plate carrier which instead of using SAPI-cut plate backers, I could also use MBAV-cut soft armor as backers. OP Tactical has their own specially-made version of the Mayflower APC which does this, it turns out.
>>40250202Does anyone know how to legally obtain camouflage clothing? I see a lot of people wearing it in this thread, but they're all deployed soldiers. I want some but have never served.

>>40268123Unites States, like everybody else.
>>40268273Jesus christ, you must be retarded if you think camo is illegal.
>>40253079yeah its some sort of 200 rd pouch, ive seen a few companies with similar designs, the ones that come to mind are the battlelab 200 rd pouch and the eagle industries DGLCS 200rd GP pouch
>>40265840>>40265809I found them to be way too narrow and I don't really have wide feet afaik

>>40261651If you like the design then the materials and craftsmanship are solid.
>>40250202Anyone know how to take apart some Peltor COMTACs? I got a set of dual comms for my christmas but really only need single comms. I just want to unsolder one of the sets of wires.
>>40262813I am partial to the old style T3 Reload Pack.
>>40263551Only get a full BAV if you intend to use the soft inserts. If you plan to just have plates then get a more minimalist PC. The ears reserved for the Kevlar are a pain that is not worth the hassle unless you are having protection in there.
>>40257018>carrying a folding knife with his operating gear
>>40264955What kind of blend do you need?
>>40264242>has so be open top so no flaps or bungeesI like the Eagles even though they have flaps because the flaps can be stowed so they are never in the way but are still there on reserve if you need them.
>>40265541Yeah but like what? What mission specific thing would you be carrying that wouldn’t either go in your assault pack or your pockets?
>>40261769Looks dope but you're gonna give yourself hip problems in like 5 years.

Hey /gq/, I managed to get myself an SDS Warrior for $70there is only surface damage, chipped paint, minor scratches, etc.I'll post a pic of it if you guys want, but I just wanna make sure whether or not the helmet is just a meme
>>40269739I already have a ridiculously oversized OD coat for that purpose I paid $7 for at a thrift shop. The issue is that I don't need to escape to Northern Canada in flight from an all-consuming plague of human locusts yet.
>>40269708KIM that Coyote was originally a color code off of the Ralph Lauren color palette.
>>40270121RL CARTEL FOR LIFE.
>>40269818Refresh my memory - is this the helmet with the insane amount of walnut dust in the paint? If so, the helmets were generally good with some history of delaminations during hard use. They were fairly light and protection against penetration falls behind the ACH a bit. The comfy memory foam pads are meme tier. Replace those with TW or Oregon Aero, Skydex, etc. The comfy foam does not protect well against trauma. Good luck finding rails that fit it. For a stripped, shroud only rig I would not balk at having to use it.
>>40270182I don't know about the walnut dust, but the helmet didn't come with memory foam pads, I just bought a pack of $20 skydex pads that was conveniently placed next to the helmet.I'm not worried about rails, honestly if I could find an NVG mount to cover up the front hole that'd be great
>>40270235>I don't know about the walnut dustIs the surface of the helmet rough? ACHs are generally smooth with little patches of walnut dust here and there. The other one that I remember was rough all over - breddi shur was SDS Warrior.>if I could find an NVG mountDo not get a cast USGI flat mount. They shatter easily. Get one of the later shiny, machined ones if poorfag - or Wilcox Hybrid / Norotos Universal to cover the hole if not poorfag.
>>40270314Yeah, the surface is fairly rough, somewhat similar to the surface texture of the US M1 helmet>do not get a cast USGI flat mountalright, i'll steer clear from that one
Are the Austrian ALICE packs any good?
this may or may not be related but I was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with the Caribee Combat 32L Backpack. I'm looking for a backpack for uni rn and I want to find something that wont fall apart easily but has a nice storage capacity.
>>40250322>>40258462What's wrong with Osprey?
>>40270741It's an outdated armor vest with poor design choices. I don't fault militaries for issuing dated designs but for personal/private purchase it's hella stupid, especially when the armor isn't easy to get, isn't cheap for what it is, and isn't good as good as current offerings.
>>40270847I thought you could just fit regular SAPI plates in there. Aside from not having a quick-release, I don't see any apparent flaws.
>>40270877Uh, you might be able to but that doesn't remedy the poorly designed cummerbund, shoulders, or the overall necessary bulkiness.

>>40272277>t. carries a singlstack and shoots twice a year
>>40272018That's how I'm running currently, but the shoulder straps can be a hassle when shouldering a gun, I don't need access to the backpack myself (although apparently there are pc attached backpacks that do have the ability of accessing them without taking the pc off?) and just in general having the ability of carrying hydration + some small things all the time on me and being able to throw an assault pack on top of it would (or a breaching kit which is it's shoulder carried backpack type of thing) would be the most modular setup.Rest of our guys use stuff like multiple pouches on their back for different things, canteens on their cummerbund or belt, regular assault packs or whatever combination of these, and depending on ops length and whether you have to sit in transport for any length of time or not, they all have their problems. No offense taken, and this is just the idea that I got after thinking how I would like my setup to be. I'm willing to be convinced that it's a shit idea.

>>40272381I guess I’ll play devils advocate and ask what you are actually doing with it?But to try and be somewhat helpful check out http://www.warriorassaultsystems.com/elite-ops-range/bags/cargo-bag/elite-ops-cargo-pack-multicam/Though personally I have found that having extra shit on the back of your PC that isn’t just flat will make an assault pack sit funny and make shit hella uncomfortable.
>>40272381Just use a smaller backpack
I'm looking to start USPSA competitions, but would like to set up a belt that's also good for LARPing, AKA something in beautiful coyote brown. I'm thinking with esstac kiwis on the left, then I can add rifle mag pouches & IFAK when not at matches. Trying to kill 2 birds with one stone. Is that retarded or a workable idea? I'm not trying to be the next Jerry.
is this new laser cut stuff a meme?>sips
>>40272545Not him but why are kywis good for glock but nothing else? I was planning on getting myself since I really like the aesthetics and its simplicity. iirc website even says kywis are good for other mags except cz and 1911
Can anyone identify these devices? Not the plate carrier
>>40273301iirc esstac has a 1911 specific pouch
>>40273301the polymer will eventually strip the finish on metal mags and the polymer on polymer contact will better retain glock mags. The notch on glock mags also make it tougher to smoothly insert into tacos.
>>40252435>Virtus is excellent, light and easily adjusted. can't comment on it's protective abilityExtrapolating from the very nice plate weights, I'd guess they are III or III+.
>>40273655Looks like IR strobes for iff
Who makes a good headband cover for comtac3s?
>>40265840They are not suppose to be waterproof. They are reef shoes. They drain and dry fast.
>>40265809They are good summer shoes. They are made to be reef shoes and worn with no socks. In their intended role they are perfect. If you wear them a lot with no socks you will want to build up some calluses on your feet. You will get hot spots. If you want to wear them as everyday shoes with socks, you may want to go up a size. I found the factory insole to be too hard on my feet. I replaced it with a softer insole and they were perfect. Regular pavement will wear the soles fast. But it is perfect for slick wet conditions.
>>40273816I plan on using them for camping and classes. I wear skate shoes for work and play.
>>40273855Yes, they are like heavy duty Vans or Chucks.
>>40269668The balance is being a cowboy anon.Leather slings/holstersLeather bagsCowboy boots, rolled up sleeves. You can be informally formal p-easy that way.
>>40273892Sounds good to me.
>>40273892>heavy duty vansthen thats perfect, thanks
>>40269646If you're interested in boots, consider boots like Red Wings/Irish Setter.>>40269708OD in my opinion works fine, especially for shirts. I agree that neutral earth tones look good.
>>40274551OD is not fine unless you're pretending to be a nam vet begging for change under a bridge.
>>40273655Tis a blast gauge. Used for when soldiers get hit by a blast or concussive wave. It measures the waves and can be helped to assess blast related trauma.
>>40274687do you have boobs
>>40261769>>40272469What are those little pouches you guys carry on the back of your belts? I'm assuming they're medic pouches? What do they carry? Do you guys even know basic first aid to use them? Not my pic btw

>>40274864Its good to know how to use it but its more for when a medic finds you face down they can rip open your kit and save you with it.
>>40266990I want a decently priced stahlhelm bad, where did you get helmet in pic?
>>40274719Yes, but the manly kind
>>40275248hawt. i like your paint job and stock
>>40274864It's the BFG micro trauma kit now! it carries chest seals, nasal tube, gauze, bandages and similar.
>>40276291>>40274864and yeah, I have training for the stuff I use. Anything more than what I have on me would most likely go in a dedicated backpack.
>>40267688what nvg and what bridge?
anyone ever set up packs on their dogs?
>>40276519My dog was finicky. Once I put it on her she pretended like she was overloaded and refused to walk - even when it was empty. I gave it to my friend. He stuck it on his dog and his dog loves it. Hit or miss, uh.
What are some good snow camo/white chest rigs/plate carriers that aren't chink garbage?

>>40276795How much did the NvG set you back?
>>40276893probably too much, about $5000+ for the NVGs + Bridge. Bit unsure specifically.

>>40277040just blow your nose haha how can a clogged nose be real like just dont have a cold just breathe haha

>>40277127>>40276319where do you get this training?
>>40277148It's an EMT skill, though CLS might teach itFind an EMT or take a high speed TCCC course
>>40277148Mostly from the military, and then some research from friends who are more into medical stuff, and also a tad bit of research on the internet. But the kit I have on me is fairly basic, nothing really advanced. For chest rigs I like to add some extra stuff since you're more dependent on it.
>>40277148Read a book nigger good lord
>>40277181i know several, through my ham club and relatives. theyll give the course for free, but expect you to to work for them. not too into that.>>40277213>Mostly from the militarythats the answer i was expecting. >>40277349>a book can give me hands on traininggood lord nigger use your brain
>>40277390>good lord nigger use your brainYeah god forbid you have a nose or friends you can jam an airway in
>>40277428I have friends that I've known for over 20 years. I've been arrested with them. They saved my life once. I wouldn't let any of them stick a tube up my nose.
>>40277407is that your weed pouch?
>>40258098Not true, they're authorized to be used out in the field and they're a must in Sniper school and mountain warfare.

>>40277651big points off for the SERPA. get a real retention holster instead of that dumb shit.
>>40277751Once I get a light and RMR on the Glock I'm picking up a Safariland.
>>40277758Does the bottle hinder your draw?I got shit on at werk for having a pouch that close to my pistol
>>40277253 maximum cringe
>>40277773Not at all. When it's on my waist there's a good amount of space between them
>>40277838what do you use to hold it, how much does your bottle hold and is that pouch thing adjustable? I have a 40oz bottle that is too big to fit in literally every cupholder I've tried to put it in, but I want to have it on my belt without it swinging around by its top.
>>40278020The bottle is just one of the standard Nalgenes, and the pouch is made specifically for nalgenes. I want to say it's tactical tailor/milspec monkey.
>>40278020And yes, it is adjustable, you can change how tight or loose it is around the body of the bottle
>>40278077Thanks pham. I'll look into it.
Thots? Thinking about getting a dangler for medical, gonna be using it in a match at the end of this month.
