Sound ThreadHow-to:1. Have a script extention in your browser: Violetmonkey (recomended), Greasemonkey, Tapermonkey, etc2. Install script:https://sleazyfork.org/en/scripts/31045-4chan-external-soundshttps://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/402682-4chan-sounds-playerusing 4chanX is optional but recommendedfor encoding/decoding: https://meyerweb.com/eric/tools/dencoder/
you can now convert images in-thread without having to decode or upload on a external site, give it a try it's streamlined

Fuck, catbox is down.
>>36477888Works on my end.
>>36464877>>36465374spoof user agent using an extension and you're g2g
I can't believe someone saved and reposted one of mine that I stole from T**tterFeels all warm and fuzzy.
>>36478862oh nice, that worked thanks.
>>36471350Firefox did nothing.Someone who was using a similar user agent was probably evading and posting something that couldn't stay up if the site is to stay up, and therefore it was blacklisted it as a stopgap. As for what it would be in particular, who knows.
>>36482234What the fuck, that's a terrible way to go about it
>>36482927Compared to what?If they're clearing cookies, not using specific IP ranges, and intentionally avoiding hash checks, then they are getting through most of the barriers that sites typically can use without introducing an account system. I would assume those above checks have been tried and are less successful, since those are more common (see: mobile rangebans). The more interesting question is why the user agent is an effective block to whatever content they're trying to keep in check. My guess is:A. It's for a bot with a fixed user agent string of that Firefox Windows version, either preemptively or just recently.B. This is actually an unintended catch of another user agent check. It's probably not an accident though, given that it just popped up recently and only on select boards.
>>36483182Forgive my ignorance but that just sounds like a bandaid fix. What's stopping the guy from setting up bots on other user agents?
>>36483459>but that just sounds like a bandaid fixOh no, you're precisely right, which is why I question why it was implemented as well.If it is an automated bot (and that's just an assumption), it would just be a way to slow them down until they applied the fix, probably cycling between common user agents. But they would still have to make that fix, which would buy the mods/admins SOME time.I'm only assuming it is a bot because someone manually doing this would just have to switch browsers or use a user agent spoofer extension, which is more trivial than rewriting code and redeploying bots. I could be wrong.Basically it would have to be a very specific case for this particular check to be worthwhile to implement, relative to the negative consequences for other posters.
>>36477930I don't know what the issue was but it cleared after a few hours.
