more reviews I read about wagahime the more I’m convinced that narou and LNs in general absolutely owned and sank this medium so hard.was the same with sorc alive and it’s same with wagahime yet the truth is that these stories are nothing like top narou titles, these authors want to be like popular narou authors but it feels as though they got beat at storytelling, worldbuilding and various other departments long ago by these amateur authors and now are just trying to mimick them desperately yet it doesn’t work that well.VN authors just don’t seem to have that vision, imagination anymore to even make their own twist on narou type stories, or maybe they were hacks and never had them in the first place. Crone's route is a straight up insult. For starters, it's not her route, it's the grand route. It's been mentioned before but the flashbacks are egregious and he managed to fuck up what could have been a really emotional scene by cutting it extremely short and skipping to an epilogue. I don't know what they can do with a FD with the story's shitty overarching plot, unless it gets immediately solved in the next game by a new faction or some shit. Only thing I'd like is if they actually had some heroine focused routes.

Also Erin's route where her goon squad gets attacked but none of them die or are seriously injured or out of action for long enough, literally like 20 minutes between them getting got and them coming back

Alright, I've started Lamunation, international version. Figured I could just play that, because it's cheap, but I guess you get what you pay for.Yeah, sure, it does support Japanese. But the version is ass. The backlog has absolute no functions (no voice replay or anything), which I'm pretty sure the original wouldn't have ditched. Instead of backlog jumping, you can now choose chapters. (all of them are free to chose, from the get go.. for reasons beyond me). They also split some Japanese lines, probably because the box wouldn't work for English, so you only see half the line while the voice continues. (fixable with "don't stop playing voice when next line has no voice, but still..) And the worst: Some of the voices and text don't match. There's been one scene where stuff was weirdly swapped around. Dunno if this is a general problem, or just Japanese. I can imagine it's a general one, as kepposhi games always had weird shit with voices, including random lines unvoiced. (had one of those in this as well already)A shame. I don't suppose anyone would have the original on a good link around? This is.. playable. Provided the voice swap isn't happening all the time. But ugh. Of course it could also be that it has the exact same issues, in that case I'd be fine.As for the game, coming from the doujin games you feel right back at home. The character overlap is a little scary (as in, they do resemble the previous characters quite a bit), but yeah. Dunno how you'd feel if you'd play this as your first kepposhi game though. Must feel weird as fuck, as the game doesn't do anything to easy you into his style. The doujin games work better there.

Waka-sama is genuinely the best Minato release in recent years. Romeo's boomerism creep in at some points but overall it was pretty good. Forgot living up to Majikoi, Wagahime couldn't even keep up with a washed up Romeo VN.

Checked out the original Lamunation Prologue, and pretty much all the problems of International are actually just in that. The only thing I'm missing is a voice repeat function outside of the backlog (International has that), but no voice lines swapped, and none missing either. Just minor volume issues, but I don't remember if they were in the other version as well, and I'm not going through that again.Also I wonder how the fuck they managed to make the International version use like 30 times the CPU power than the normal version. They ported it to Kiri Kiri, but that engine isn't doing that. Talk about a shoddy product.You get what you pay for. At least it's cheap in Japan as well, and not suddenly 7k yen.

The first major arc was fun in itself, but what then followed.. nah. And as a Renge game it generally was a let-down. I can see how the other girl has more fans.
