She's in many ways very similar to Sashi in that regard but her's was certainly more damaging and more personal. Also, like Sashi, Miichan may have or had the most potential to have an enduring role in the entertainment industry, though the track she was on was certainly derailed to some extent back in 13. In a final comparison, Sashi said that her career post her scandal was one centered around atonement and it seems to me that that would also be an appropriate way to describe Miichan's as well. While her accolades and accomplishments are many, she doesn't seem to get her due or the respect that was granted to other 1st gens, which is sad. Watching her segments in recent documentaries is also difficult as she was clearly not happy. It's nice though that's she's been a more recognized and a participatory member in senbatsu and media performances lately. She has often remarked that she began idoling with the intention to be more like Maeda or Mayuyu but turned to variety to survive. While that was probably a painful decision, she clearly thrived in that direction. Hopefully her remarkable talk, variety and acting talents will carry her to success after AKB and she's able to have a life with greater happiness.
