When the Israelis and Arabs went to war; and the Arabs took Jerusalem, they completely leveled the Jewish quarter of the Old City. When the Jews re-took Jerusalem, they did not retaliate by leveling the Arab quarter of the Old City. That about sums it up. Arabs destroy the treasures of humanity. Jews protect them. Jews even protect the beautiful mosques on the temple mount; the ones that nutty evangelical dooms-day Christians want to destroy, and replace with a Jew temple so that Christ will come back and end the world. Jew authorities prevent orthodox Jews from worshiping on the temple mount (a place sacred to all Abrahamic religions), just to appease the conquered Muslims in the area. Muslim authorities would never do that. They would never have any degree of deference at all for non-Muslims that they have any power over.I think that the Jews do mistreat the Palestinians. But, hypothetically, if the power balance was inverted; and Jews were conquered people living in Gaza and West bank under Arab military occupation; they would be treated much more cruelly than the Palestinians are being treated. These hypothetical conquered Jews would have been exiled or exterminated decades ago. The Jews are civilized, and the Arabs are not.
