Do they actually make anything of high quality? Or is it sheer quantity over quality and bootlegs?

The fact that Chinese brands aren't the best in quality is a fact, and Chinese companies don't even want that. Even the Chinese themselves think that foreign brands are better, so it would be a lost cause for Chinese companies tow aste money in quality. But you can see how they're repositioning themselves in a progressively higher market segment.
10 years ago it would have been inconceivable for Huawei to market its smartphones at 700€, and Xiaomi isn't really seen as a meme brand anymore.
Lenovo is a special case I guess.

Trotsky returned to NY after the first revolt was crushed to secure new credit from Jacob Schiff. He received it.

The communist FDR heeded Morgenthau and Bulleit over his American advisors to forgive Russia's debt to the US and extend it further credit.

Also, you know minimum wage wasn't a given right? worker right was also not a given. it was because people in union fought for it that we got it. All of this is an attribute of socialism. Capitalism is about getting the fruit of our labor into the hand of capitalist. it wasn't handed to us, people fought and die for it. I hope you can see why everyone championed fdr. While he kept the system going (which is something nobody indented), he lifted everyone out of poverty at the time and championed the worker right.

>Federal Reserve
yes, they did cause the downfall but why are you blaming fdr for the downfall of great depression. The guy inherited the system during the great depression my guy. Yes, we could execute those fucker, and fdr was the catalyst for the downfall because the union stopped after he gave them the benefits. No one strive anymore after given so much benefits.

Are you trying intentionally misinterpret history?

> One of the key selling points of the Librem 5 crowdfunder was convergence support or the ability to use the phone like a PC. Ultimately, however, there isn't much on offer. Connecting devices to the phone over Bluetooth didn't enable convergence; neither did a USB-C hub with HDMI.

So basically they couldn't meet much of the core goals that they established. Very reliable.

> Some support was required from Purism to get the Librem 5 up and running. Following an initial successful boot, the phone rapidly lost charge. After several days of charging, it turned out that the phone refuses to charge while powered up. Furthermore, it emitted considerable heat. Not enough to melt anything, but certainly warmer than a phone should be.

> In addition, the device refused to boot. Fortunately, an answer was provided on the Purism website. While the experience underlines the beta nature of the phone, the sheer list of issues other users have faced makes for sobering reading.

Fucking lol.

No policies were implemented by elite fiat.

It's simple if-then logic.

If not loyal action then presiden'ts not loyal.
FDR did not do the loyal thing therefore he's not loyal.

>history

You are relying on the misinformation we were raised to believe via school, the media, etc.

In real life Bulleitt and Morgenthau told the UK and France to tell Poland to start whit with Germany and they did.
If: communists in the US weren't telling UK and France to egg on Poland
then: Poland would not antagonize Germany into war.

Joe Kennedy, as a point of contrast, while acting as diplomatic envoy to the UK gave the accurate, opposite advice, saying if Poland went against Germany it would come to war and the US shouldn't do this.

If you want to know history read books like The Spy's War where you will learn Germany was riddled with spies and Stalin knew full well Hitler would oppose his invasion over the Eastern border. Germany crushed the Red Army anyway because they were that much better.

The USSR was only rebuilt and outfitted with a new army because of American funding, material, technical experts, etc.

This is a stupid argument. Almost all consumer electronics are manufactured in China at this point, with most of the non-Chinese remainder being produced in Japan/SK. America is borderline irrelevant, propped up only by Intel (declining hard) and milspec shit.
>>
>>140046338
Its not about where it comes from. Ideally I'd like a phone running on a RISC V SoC with other quality hardware, fully open schematics, but we're just not there yet. The first example of such a phone is likely to be Chinese, and I'd encourage you to buy that too (as soon as it's verified by independent parties that there are no hardware sniffers embedded in the circuitry)

It's about rejecting the monumental privacy violations that are committed by companies like apple, jewgle and huawei. You shouldn't be buying anything jeetdroid no matter where it comes from. Geopolitics are completely irrelevant.

America can only blame itself for choosing to outsource so much stuff which it even include complex electronics.

The first massive disadvantage of outsourcing is you eventually lose all your knowledge capital. But no muh capitalism! Have to think of the stock price and shareholders!
>>
>>140046469
>This is a stupid argument. Almost all consumer electronics are manufactured in China at this point
Only because Chinese labor is cheap enough to produce all this. As China gets richer and the standard of living goes up it will become exponentially more expensive for manufacturing to remain in china.
>>

When the USA goes to war with China over Iran our parasite infection will go terminal, just like when Germany was Stabbed in the Back, and America will collapse like the USSR already did, as the World Economic Forum predicted.

This is true of low-tech production, but electronics are a different story, it relies a lot on concentrated supply chains and a large supply of skilled workers. I've read that there are as many credentialed electrical engineers in Canton as there are in all of the US, and with all of the factories concentrated there it's easy for businesses to find supply and prototype.

Meanwhile, they tried building that LCD factory in Wisconsin and couldn't even find a domestic supplier of the glass they needed. Apple tried to build Macbooks domestically and couldn't find anyone to make the right screws.

If they can keep those high paid, high skill assembly jobs so can China.

Difference is that's German companies making German products. Not American companies assembling their products in China.

How many of those American companies will be left once China has stolen all their technology?

>The USA hasn't been able to put German manufacturing out of business despite it being a first world country.
Germany is one of the biggest countries in Europe with a well established manufacturing base, not to mention they do much of the manufacturing in Europe. You also seem to forget one of the points of Economic Liberalism, it's not to put Allied nations out of business as that would destroy relations with a big country especially Germany.
> There are loads of high tech assembly jobs American companies seemingly can't compete with because of knowledge base and supply chains.
Knowledge base isn't a problem, it's high wages of workers (Don't forget about all the secrets and techniques stolen by China) and America has really good supply chains for the manufacturing it has.

china can't even properly steal taiwan's sc fab tech

>But at some point your justifications run out and you have to contend with the fact that you've essentially been programmed to view things like a consoomer.

Yes, because focusing on charge duration, quality of call and camera quality is the absolute definition of a consumer. It doesn't matter I don't switch out my phone like jeans and buy a new one every couple of weeks. I have to be a consumer for not buying this currently faulty phone shilled on an anonymous Ghanaian face-painting forum.

>Because paying an obscene amoint of money for huawei

> The Librem 5 USA will cost an eye-watering $1,999

If that's USD that'd be 2.500 Australian dollars. I'd be paying a lot more than what I did for my Huawei AND getting less.

I can already see inaccuracies in this map which makes me doubt the others. In Chinese, the name for Vietnam is the same as the Vietnamese name for Vietnam: South Yue/Viet, Yue/Viet being the ethnic group from that region.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baiyue

Another one is Japan, which has the same definition as the Japanese name. Japan = 日本 = Sun Origin = Land of the Rising Sun. The kanji for book is the same as the kanji for origin. Sounds like whoever made this map just ran it through Google Translate lol.

I'm also pretty sure Brazil in Chinese has the word "west" in it.

Definitely not their shitty satellites, in fact they have no cutting edge technology, it's all mass produced consoomer shit

The problem with these things is that they're all old tech someone else invented and the Chinese can just make an OK inexpensive version of it now. I think OP meant like industry leader or truly innovative products.

>>140047099
heh, are you a semiconductor geek? so, how is china looking here? I'll say give them 5 years to edge out in competition with the rest of the industry. what do you think?

Didn't they hire thousands of TSMC engineers?

China has always been about quantity. Whatever quality that gets produced is because whenever a great quantity of something is made, it's statistically inevitable that some of them will be of good quality.

The projections of their own companies would indicate they've got a very, very long way to go. We'll have to see how things pan out, but I doubt they'll even have a sizeable minority market share in 2030.

>>140047923
And all it got then was 28nm in 2020. They won't even be self-reliant at that level for another two years. They're a long ways away from trading blows with SK and Taiwan.

AFAIK the main bottleneck is actually fab construction. TSMC is building one in the US but even that won't be finished until the mid 2020s or so.
I hold stock in TSM though, so hopefully it'll take China a bit longer to catch up. You just know they'll flood the market to drive down prices as soon as they're done.

To be honest, I'm thinking they will need to carry out rnd t for asml equivalent too. I'm just going to hope buying share into china fab will pay off in the long run when they catch up.
