Then some of those Danes or some other Danes went raiding again and pissed him off (I don't remember the specifics) which resulted in their massacre. It would seem extremely unlikely that Æthelred would order the execution of literally everyone of Danish descent, who especially in Northumbria would be fairly entrenched in society as a large portion of the population and had been living in Britain for over 100 years.But yes, the mercenary fuckers had it coming.
