Christianity holds that its God is the source of all morality and that what God does must be good. This leads conservatives to apply this black/white thinking elsewhere. If God is said to support a king or a nation, then their actions must be good, too. Conservatives consider the US founded aa a Christian nation, so all its actions are blessed. Someone criticizing a fraction of the actions of the US is tantamount to blasphemy to a conservative because it questions God's judgment.
