He didn't say anything wrong. He didn't exactly prove that Jesus didn't exist, but he did point out that there are parallels between the story of Jesus and that of other mythological/religious figures, but then again, if you scratch it even deeper, you could also say any famous person's life has a few other things in common with somebody else's life.
You could say Elvis didn't exist because he's got some stuff in common with Napoleon (both came from a town in a not-that-important part of their country, went big in a time in which there were some big changes going on in the world, eventually got "pulled out", and died after retiring at a relatively young-ish age from mysterious circumstances).

I mean, but still, just because somebody who doesn't agree with you said something that goes against what you believe, it doesn't mean it's wrong.

The first part is historically true. The trinity, as it is known today, was coined by Tertullian. It was chosen over Arianism in the first Nicene council, but then Arianism became really popular so it was finally declared heresy, alongside all non-trinitarian explanations of Jesus' relationship with his father, like 80 years later.

Japanese rail companies were privatized in the 80s, and some of their companies receive no government support at all. So it has nothing to do with the competence of public transit, since it is not public.

Trains in Japan are profitable because of the extreme population density.

Not all rail lines in Japan are profitable, perhaps the national average population density isn’t the right figure to use. And anyway, the rest of the US requires a car, so most people own a car even in the eastern corridor. And if you own a car, why would you ride a train that doesn’t go directly to your destination with no stops?

What Europeans don't realize is how large America is, compared to it's population. The American interior is so vast and empty there's many areas that a bullet train isn't feasible.
Realistically I think there should be bullet trains, and have a Midwest track, west coast track, east coast track, and maybe have a separate Texas track connecting the major city centers in each area.
Would be wonderful for business.

The train thing is the easiest example of American autism. You ask yourself who hates high speed rails, the answer is Americans. Why? Because it would make them less "free to move." Yet they probbaly leave their immediate town or cities less than people in any other large nation. Sounds like a joke from Soviet Russia or something. I mean it literally makes no sense, it's such blatant cope when they talk about it. Only argument is muh minorities or muh freedom (LOL) They're constantly angry about everything and yet they simply cannot fathom working outside of their commonalities, it's why they resisted any real econ reform because muh socialism so consistently that they now have an actual rising socialist and commie movement because people are tired of immortal bubble popping over and over again.

Americans literally look at this and think "freedom." Truly a lost cause.

I never understood why Americans never police public transportation.

I live in a third world shithole, but if you start acting out in a bus, the vehicle will stop to throw you the fuck out or hand you over to the police station. Its even worse in trains: there are plainsclothed and uniformed officers in the wagons. You start chimping out you get subdued and arrested.
>>
>>13315880
they are policed. i've seen rowdy bums get pulled off the bus by officers.
american police, in general, are just ass. im not sure what it's like in your country, but the expectation here is that the police will arrive after the danger has already passed. that's why we have fervent defenders of gun ownership over here.

Dude, Americans go on road trips all the time. In case you haven't noticed, the country is fucking huge. Every state has it's own culture, some similar, some vastly different. You can find anything here. Forests, mountains, deserts, oceans, rivers, great plains, charming small towns, creepy small towns, massive cities that are the modern manifestations of Babylon, and countless other strange and unique places with equally strange and unique people.

Have whatever opinion you want about America, but this...
>Yet they probbaly leave their immediate town or cities less than people in any other large nation.
Is bullshit.

I don’t understand why people act like having trains in your country somehow prevents them from owning cars. Like what, do Euros and East Asians get shot by the train police if they try to buy a volkswagen and drive it to the beach? If anything it makes car ownership more easy and convenient than it would be if you tried to shove a bunch of parking lots the same land area
>>
>>13315880
You can't really put a policeman on every bus or a subway car. You can't ask the bus or train driver to pull double duty as security because they aren't paid to do that.

>After defeating the tribesmen, their chiefs came up to Him and offered all manner of precious jewels to Him for penance.4 But the Son of Man refused them, and ordered the men to bring out all the virgins of their people for His selection.5 And the unbelievers approached Him and asked, 'O Lord, is this the manner of a Holy Man?' And He replied unto them: "Love thy enemy."6

>There He stopped at the town of Set, where resided a man called Zachiras who was vain of his strength with the sword, who had announced in the days preceding that He could not be the Son of God, and this he would prove by slaying Him in duel.13 The Son of God approached Zachiras to bade him recant, but the man continued his boast, and He said: 'Then mayst thou strike my face with thy great sword.'14 And Zachiras struck His face, but it left no mark. Embarrassed, Zachiras bade Him once more; and He said: 'Then mayst thou strike once more'.15 And He turned his other cheek, and again Zachiras struck Him, whereupon no mark was left and the great sword shattered. Zachiras now fell upon His feet and asked for mercy, but He replied: 'Whoever lives by the sword, dies by the sword!' and slew Zachiras.16 So it came to pass that the transgressor was condemned, and Jesus turned to His disciples: 'Mayst thou know, therefore, not to resist an evil person. If he slaps thee on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek.17 For the teeth of the wolf will be brittle on the wool of My sheep; and thou shallt slay him and condemn him to Hell.'18

There's one guy who shows up in any thread related to the American civil rights movement and claims it was a black nationalist terrorist movement astroturfed by communists. When you point to the participation of millions of people in the movement and the marginal (at best) role of communists and black nationalists in American politics in the 1950s-60s he insists that there really were many influential communists, but they aren't called communists because historians are all in on a conspiracy. Watching him sperg out in reaction to historical sources is fun.

>therefore the value that the trains gives that person is less
It is not about the value to the person, it is about the value to society... Car-dependent traffic requires huge roads with massive upkeep costs. Why do you think america's infrastructure is falling apart? Because the cities/states cannot afford to repair them. Nevermind the poorer air quality and risk of accidents leading to worker losses and extra healthcare expenditures. The costs of train infrastructure are much less than that of road infrastructure. An estimated $450 billion (1) is required for repairing all current low-to-mediocre quality roads in the US and the goverment is spending $177 billion (1) per year on maintenance. In comparison the train infrastructure costs for the entirety of the EU is between €30-50 billion (2) per year. For quick transport between high density cities, rail is by far the most efficient option.

>Yet they probbaly leave their immediate town or cities less than people in any other large nation.
The problem is not that you don't leave your town. The problem is that within town you can't go anywhere without a car because car infrastructure is the only thing built. Lack of train infrastructure is a symptom of this.

Any of the pagan shit, bu especially the ones who worship "out of tradition". Like, if you don't actually believe any of it and just do it because you feel peer pressured by people who died hundreds of years ago why do it? To freak out the normos, I guess? That's not any reason to be part of a religion though, you should actually have some sincerity in your beliefs and I get the feeling the only people actually sincere about religion at all on this board are the Muslims and some of the really spergy Christians that only know sincerity and can't into irony, or anything else for that matter.

After about 2 seconds of research, I found that one subway car costs 2 million dollars. For that price, you could buy 100 new cars for $20,000 each, or 200 used cars, or 400 shitboxes. Since one subway car seats maybe 50 people, it's a bad investment.

Most people in America just fly long distance and rent a car when they get to wherever it is they're going or if they're going to a city rely on cabs/ubers or the city's public transportation

Which is something I never notice in the DUDE TRAINS LMAO debate, it's always trains vs cars and planes are never mentioned. Especially by the people who think there should be some national bullet train network between LA, Chicago and New York or something. Like dude, just take a plane bro, lmfao
>>
>>13329032
HSR is more efficient than flying for a lot of routes because the stations are in the middle of the city instead of the suburbs and there's no gay ass TSA to slow you down several hours.

So for relatively close, highly traveled city pairs (ie. DC/NY, LA/SF) it's way more efficient than building more highway or air infrastructure.
