ITT: We post mid-to-late 2000s graphic design styles, visual trends, and aesthetics.Anything between 2005 and 2012 (or anything that is reminiscent of that era) is welcome here. THIS IS NOT A Y2K THREAD. DO NOT POST Y2K HERE.Previous: >>426510
Starting off this thread strong>>433522I forgot how horny early 2000s ads could be
>>433524jason statham owns
>>433524Is that an anime girl.
I honestly love the aesthetic of those fake highly photoshopped movie posters.
>>433579Reminds me of that game "Remember Me"
>>433556Seems so at first glance. But no, that’s Natalya Rudakova.>>434099THIS is what web design is about. Giving a site some character by creating graphics that take some actual effort.
Bugbear Entertainment's website around 2008http://web.archive.org/web/20080703141249/http://www.bugbear.fi/
Remember when games where trying to go for that Sin City vibe back in the late 2000s?
There was also this other game that no one gave a shit about that had a similar artstylehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ltc31w_HetM
are the kids actually interested in this?it feels a bit forced tb h. show me some modern takes on this aesthetic.
>>434851this would look so much better if all the cars were varying colours of red because as is they all blend into the background

>>434871I think he means mid-00s as a whole, not just fruity aero
>>434871i've got a bit of a bias against nostalgia-driven art/design movement, but this is pretty disappointing even by those standards.there's nothing new in these at all. no subversion of what was (and still is in parts of south and se asia) the predominant corporate aesthetic of its day.this is just boring.
>>434895Whoever this guy is is categorically false and elitist (like all of a period of time I'd bad design). Honestly, keep up the old stuff regardless.
>>434895>nothing new in a specific style that ended. What are you even looking for? I think your bias is more than just a bit
>>434908>categorically falseabout?>elitisti'll give you that>like all of a period of time I'd bad designnever said that>>434916>What are you even looking for?some sort of justification for making more of this stuff beyond just: "old good". post-internet work is very well preserved, there's very little practical reason to just make more of it unless you contribute something of your own, even it's a flimsy thesis.
>>434871gay ass design aestheticfuck yourself
>>434935What makes it so gay?
>>434917>tfw you realize 2013 is one month away
Alright I'll post the obvious
>>435331that rap music is embarrassing, proto-onions ad-agencycore
>>435402>that rap music is embarrassingThat just makes it better
>>435402I posted it for the design
>>435470messig is mdm

I spent a lot of time on this site from 2010-2011 when i first got into Photoshop
Remember when Grindhouse was becoming popular back in the late 2000s?
>>434895I don't know what you are expecting. The images shown would be used in a space that is the equivalent of a logia. They do their job while creating an environment that draws little attention to itself while being appealing and offering some sense of character albeit soft.
>>434935You sound very effeminate or bitchy maybe? You don't sacre me. Work on it
i fucking hate all of this so much, it all feels cheap and artificial. It gives me the same feeling like when you pick up something that you expect to be made of metal but it's actually plastic.
>>435989wasn't a lot of the stuff in the 80s and 90s cheap and plastic too?
>>435991sure, but all or most of the media produced then was still fairly bound by traditional means of production and consumption and design still felt like it had weight.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzrRIi9FMIUThis commercial aired in 2003, but I think it still counts.
