Why does it look so dated and old?

I think it looks great. It looks like a late 90's buddy cop movie with a scifi twist. Love that the poster takes place at night, you can see the stars, it evokes nighttime monster movie marathons just as much as it's necessary to show the vastness of the universe. Cool colors are consistent throughout, very clean poster. You gotta grow up, OP.
