Why does graphic design have its own (very slow) board while there's still no place on the site to discuss product/industrial design, interior design, furniture design, or even architecture? Just change it from /gd/ - Graphic Design to /da/ - Design & Architecture already. This is like if /his/ was restricted to discussing French history and discussion of any other history wasn't given a board.

why would you post this thread instead of just posting your stupid takes? coward
>>427600>This is like if /his/ was restricted to discussing French history and discussion of any other history wasn't given a boardWe also have a Japanese Culture board
>>428526/qst/ was made specifically to unclog /tg/ with billions of quests like 4 people cared about.
>>428582>We also have a Japanese Culture boardJeez, I wonder why
>>428601yes, why not a french culture board?
>>428602Stock answer: Because anime board
There's a board for artists and a board for cosplayers but there isn't a board for actors, radio personalities, or comedians. 4chan's boards aren't like harry potter houses, you can just kinda post about vaguely on topic stuff and if mods get rid of it, mods got rid of it.
>>428586Fuck off, newfriend.
>>427600>Why does graphic design have its own (very slow) board while there's still no place on the site to discuss product/industrial designBecause that shit's gay. Simple as. Nobody talks about furniture just because they like to.
>>428605the random 'off topic' ban is also a very nice experienceENJOY YOUR STAY
>>427600you can get away with interior type porn on /fa/ but if you stray a little too informed or are too cool you get deleted and banned.there's no audoence here for actual culture, let alone high culture. its a childrens board and always will be.
>>428670>Graphic designers calling real designers gayLmaoEnjoy picking fonts from menus for hours while furniture designers make things that actually matter

>>427600>slow board badkill yourself /v/-nigger
architecture might fit into /diy/?it's kind of the defacto tradespeople/construction/homeowner board and sometimes there are good threads about larger projects

OP is right though, general design board makes sense
>>427602alsp pls merge /pol/ and /lgbt/ i want a cute polack and i'm too afraid to go there UwU
>>427600To be honest with you, sometimes you get retards who just want to post offensive shit on the internet but you'll get the smarter people on the internet that will be nice to everyone unless you add a toxic kid on the internet and now they are both fighting now. See? Each human is different and that's why we have cry-baby bitches around this globe,
>>432144out of curiosity how long did it take before you got licensed? I'm considering becoming an architect but I'm still learning to draw and am currently a failed Philo major in university, I'm this close to dropping out but architecture has always seemed cool to me and I'd love to design and build something that will be worth something one day and I believe I have what it takes to get a degree in architecture, also, I know I don't need as much math and science pre requisites as I would for an engineering degree but whatever math is necessary I am willing to study. I'm already interested in geometry, Euclidian and whatever else, and plus architecture is just awesome
>>432252Not him, but you need to work/intern under a licensed architect for at least 2 years before you can take the test to get your own license. These tests are usually really difficult and you'll probably have to take it 2-4 times before you actually get the title. At least thats how it is in California. Oh yeah, also once you get your title, you have to take the test again to practice in other states. It's quite bullshit that way lol. Thats the US though, it all depends on the country. Sweden- for example, allows you to practice all over the country.
>>432213did your retard mom type that for you?
>>432252>>432258It's two years of practice and couple of projects here (EU). My license took two years, did it in first try, though i did study daily for 6ish months. Also helped that i worked more as a civil engineer than architect and learned a lot of things through work. My license is also valid anywhere in EU.
>>432252I'd say a lot of people have a very idolised perception of what architects really do. Unless you're one od the chosen ones and manage to push through by talent (more likely some talent and a shitload of work+luck), you're gonna be stuck drawing houses, which is fine but dealing with people is honestly the worst part if the job imo. I was very lucky to get into a small local company that received a lot of municipality projects. While looks on these buildings are important, good functionality and end user satisfaction are much more critical compared to housing. Also much, much more expensive. In the end i'd say about 5% of time on projects went into "real architecture" and 95% into figuring out how to actually build the damn thing, where your background knowledge and experience really counts.
>>427600>This is like if /his/ was restricted to discussing French history and discussion of any other history wasn't given a board.no, it isn't

>>427600because graphic design used to be alive and is now dying. while design and architecture is already long dead.
