I made this design for a fictional not!Japanese noble house for an RPG campaign. How's it look? I'm worried the triangle of coins inside the diamond makes it look unbalanced, but all my other ideas felt way too derivative.
Working on a game and i wanted to have a logo. Any critique is welcome.>>390438I feel like the circles are too close to the outer border. You could experiment with removing the bottom square, see how that works. It's alright as a sigil if that's what you plan to use it for.
Been working on this Ambient styled album cover. Influenced by covers of Brian Eno and William Basinski albums.
>>390438>>390444I ended up squishing it down a little more and I think that made a big difference. I tried a few other things (including taking off the bottom square) and this one ended up the best.
Been trying to push GIMP as far as I can before I cave and buy photoshop>>390492 This is v cool, could totally picture finding that in a thrift store all beat up>>390444 The words look misaligned. Really like the simplicity though
I made this to be used as a label. I only own ms paint so it’s not the best
i was fucking about this morning
>>390049I'm not a designer, but I made this thing. Does it look cool?
Thoughts on this, friends? Not finished btw.
>>390323disturbing but good idea I think. Maybe those straight black lines have too much dominance tho.
>>390492I like it
>>390656Very good. My only doubt is the surface cutting the leg of the man. But could be subjective.
>>390665Please don't use complementary colours with text/background. It kills the eyes to read that.
>>390674I like these kind of perspective focused works. Very good claustrophobia effect.
>>390771what is that?
>>390911Thank you...well I understand your point but that was my plan with those long black lines .
>>390655Use Krita, its free and better and not a bloated botnet
>>390323this is cool, Amazing work anon.
>>390444I love the simplicity on this, really good!maybe just align it
>>390665thats preety ok for mspaint. try downloading gimp, krita or just plain pirate the fuck off adobe. Old CS is really helpful still.
>>390656who is the OG painting from? its really amazing
>>390600I liked the squared version better. It is still really nice.
>>390492So coolAmbient music and design go together forever.
>>390655maybe piracy is an option??
Some Isometric icons Im working on
>>391137mission looks weird
>>391139you are right I think the gardients might be messing up the geometrythnx for the reply
How'd I do today? I worked with one twenty dollar client today. Feels good to be in a design world over saturated with niggers.
I never know where to put the words
>>391140nah man services and mission are just not on the same perspective than the other icons.Mostly due to the arrow and headset I think, but as a whole they aren't iso rnAlso, home feels misaligned, door/window/roof aren't vertically centered and the window suffers from the same perspective problem than mission
>>391130Thank you brother I got a lot of this shit on insta if you are interested in taking a look.
>>391137>>391167Found out some moreshop : front wheels aren't aligned and should be on the same axisarticles : last sheet is translated down&right too much it seems, and not aligned on the guidehome : I think we shouldn't be able to see under the roof on the left ?? needs confirmationwhy didn't you start from the products icon ? the gradients are inconsistent as well as the corners, rounded everywhere for home but the chimney, and not rounded for products
>>390049You should make it so that the stars are reflected in the metal of the van, and the lighting behind the person should have a rim light effect on their body. :)
>>391140I think the problem is having the arrow sticking perpendicular out of the target. Try angling it so it's pointing more up into it or down into it.
Back again with another noble house crest design. I think the right option feels better to look at, but the motif is supposed to be two spears crossed and I'm not sure that it comes across without the bars you see in the left version. Any opinions or advice?
I do random photoshop stuff, I went hard on it since the lockdown in March, been producing daily stuff. Not a proffessional, so go for the critic, it will be welcomed.
>>391277Looks very sci-fi. Unfortunately they look like knives to me, not spears, why are they dual pronged? You need symmetry for the bottom banner to match the symmetry of the design.
>>391293it looks pretty cool honestly, the monster itself is a bit plain, but the composition and the atmosphere makes up for it, i'd definitely make the eyes bigger and brighter tho, adding a bit more noise and degrading the image quality might be a good idea to add more of an authentic feel, but it looks pretty cool as it is too
>>391307The thing down the center of each spear tip is supposed to be the dividing line between each side of the blade. I guess maybe I should try to make it thinner?I'm a little partial to the asymmetry on the bottom, but I worked a bit on an alternate design (left). Also tried to fix a few issues with the bars that were bugging me.
>>391315Thanks ! I actually photoshoped the shit out of my own body to make the monster because I suck at drawing. You're right the eyes seems a bit small restrospectively.
>>391293Good thing. Usually, with images like these, you don't want the keep the monster in the foreground - have something obstructing it, or if you can pull it off, hide the monster, make the viewer look for the scare. The monster is just... Eh - it's a bit uncanny.Imagine you put the monster somewhere less and it was obstructed - cool, but then you put faint eyes and faint shadows of the monster farther away and less obvious. First you notice HIM, then you notice the rest.
>>391322the bottom part is really bad, we can see the angles where your anchors are and it just feels too different compared to the top designWhy don't you use something related to the rest like a banner or flag or something as symmetric as the main part ?I also find strange that the arc ends right on the blades, but that's maybe personalWhy don't you go for two colors to separate the blades ? RN it looks like it's cut in the middle and not a single blade+ what makes a spear to me is the long shaft so keeping the blade only makes it even more difficult to understandmade an example, sorry paint+pad i'm in bed rn
>>391351That's a good point, I wanted to make something more shadowy and in the background, but I was not satistfied with the effect, so I went for something more sad, not necessarily terrifying, a lonely monster. Maybe I was lazy. Thanks for the feedback.
>>391364This is probably gonna sound autistic or something, but hey, it's 4chan so here goes.My first concept of the design actually was something kind of like your drawing, with full spears and the bottom part (the Japanese numeral for "one") underneath, but I couldn't get the balance on that right and the speartips were always too small to show detail. The reason for the crescent is because it's modeled after a spear like in the top right of pic related. I tried just crossing the blades of the spears I had modeled, and realized the halfmoon on the base of each lined up almost perfectly with each other so I decided to stylize it further. In the previous post, the asymmetrical "one" is taken from an .svg of the real-life Mōri clan crest I found (top left), while the symmetrical one is from the Watanabe clan's (bottom left). I now see what you mean about the anchors, though, and I'll try to fix that in my version. I don't think I can replace it with a banner because it wouldn't carry the same meaning.I tried making the spears look less "dual-pronged," and the result is bottom right, which is probably what I'm going to go with as a final version once I smooth out the anchors a bit more. The reason I can't use two colors is because Japanese crests are supposed to be monochrome designs, so I want to make it adhere to that rule at least.Anyway, thank you for the advice! If I end up making any more I'll probably just make a new thread to contain it and any future ones rather than cluttering up this one further.
I'll need a higher-res version of the background pic, it's literally from Pixabay>>390910Like the concept, I think the text gets a little lost in everything else going on.Going for a poster, book cover, etc? Wondering how readable it wouldbe if it's intended to be a paperback
Not my best work, but I wanted to have some fun this morning.
>>391492And no, I cba to go back and fix her shoe -- the piece isn't worth the time to re-render the stock (or cheat and flatten down a bunch of duplicate layers)
