People who visited a certain website with the Samsung browser were hit with a chain of 2 patched chromium exploits that had not been fixed in Samsung's fork. Then a GPU driver exploit that had been fixed by ARM nearly a year ago was used to get root privileges.
Google Pixel's are more secure since they ship driver updates sooner, and they don't have Samsung bloatware like the browser.

it literally is, retarded piece of shit. The company that owns 4chan is Good Smile whose majority shareholder was Disney. Not that anon, but it is. /b/ was over taken first many, many years ago under the guise of fighting against pedos. It was even before 2010 IIRC. /pol/ was taken over (mostly) due to 2016 US elections and I hear /k/ hasn't been well ever since Russia took a recent stroll to their neighbours'. Those boards are monitored by bots and all janitor positions are given to associated staff.
4chan is generally a honeypot for potentially dangerous individuals, so if you want to start a revolution against your government, especially if you're in US or Canada, don't do it here. Otherwise hobby boards are left alone, so you won't feel the spying eyes over here on /g/.

>It doesn’t tell you how long your phone has left to fully charge when you plug it in
At least it tells us the battery health unlike Android.
>No way to close all apps at once
It seamlessly freezes unused applications in the kernel so they don't use battery or RAM hence why iPhones win all battery competitions :)
>Can’t pause or stop a video while recording: you can only stop a video and start a brand new one
Use a 3rd party camera.
>No option to flip the camera around while recording
Use 3rd party camera. Andjeets already replace their camera with gcam.

Jailnbreak.
>no ascending volume (for wake-up-alarms)
iOS has had this for years.

once again, i'm asking for your input (no need to address all of the questions, just a few will suffice):

alright, so, i need a new "phone" (currently have a 2014 tablet, and the age has started catching up with it)
after taking a look around i got interested in Ulefone Power Armor 18T/19T, gravitating towards 18T since it's the higher-specced one (despite being released nearly a year ago)

now, for the questions:
how retarded is my choice?
how much of chink botnet is preinstalled on them?
how feasible it is to remove said botnet?
18T looks to be a higher-specced model out of two, but does 100 buckaroonies bump justify getting it over 19T?
some retard spams online reviews with "ulefone fucked up and 18T can't get OS updates, so they released 19T to fix it, don't get 18T!one!1eleven", yet looking around - it seems that OS updates for 18T are released somewhat regularly. is he full of shit, or is there some merit behind his words?
how reliable are ulefone communicators overall, should i expect it to last 5+ years, or should i expect it to break down?
would you recommend some other "toughphone" with thermal camera in the same price range?
are there any other things i should know before jumping the gun and getting one?

I mean, we are talking about an TSMC N3B chip vs N5/N4 chips and it's not only GPU here, it's the entire device. Some advantage is a given and the margin of ~2 watts is purely down to process node when Genshin isn't maxing out the GPU here and CPU plays more of a part. There is a reason why Geekerwan uses GFXBench at 1440p to plot their GPU efficiency curves although I think it's coming close to the point where they should increase it to 4k.
>>
>>96101514
I've only had it for two days now so I cant speak too much on usability. The screen has touch and if you dont want to use T9 then the best option is voice to text. I really got it so I use my phone less and its good for that because flipping it open and the small screen makes you more reluctant to waste time on the phone. it still has practical features like maps and hotspot. it doesnt have NFC. call quality is good. standby power usage is much better than onscreen battery usage maybe they got a chip that excels at that or they are using a cheap display that is inefficient im not sure.

I don't have much hope their GAAFET 3nm will good given how everything from 10nm-4nm has been largely terrible and off-target for Samsung Semi. But it does have promise so I am waiting to see if they can knock TSMC down a peg or two and win some designs in the process. We do want more competition, not less on the leading edge and going from 3 to 2 companies doing it would be bad, losing GlobalFoundries was already a big hit.

Should I buy a used s21/+/fe?
People tell me it's a better deal than going mid range current gen A series because of the specs but for me battery life is the most important so I'm hesitant on used.

S21FE used in my country is around 220-250USD. I can get an A series for nothing through my contract. I don't game and I don't take pictures.

S22 is fine but the S23 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is leagues better. Get the S22 but if you can find a way to possibly trade it in for the S23 for a cheap price overall, go for it. Might also want to wait for the S23 FE.

I like Google's UI and their general design philosophy, also that in case I get schizophrenic or something I can just install whatever on the device. I know this isn't really the case on Samsungs. happens with premium cars, though "zero-dollar-renting" them is much harder, would happen with iphones again.

remove the pairing and numbers of iphone-theft will skyrocket again.

Xiaomi has started to prevent the installation of applications from the Google Play Store. Xiaomiui writes about this.
According to the source, smartphones of the Chinese brand and its sub-brands began to display an intrusive virus notification when trying to download applications from the Google store. This happens even when there are absolutely no malware; the source writes that Xiaomi finds "viruses" even in its own application.

The three largest Finnish telecom operators — Telia, DNA and Elisa — are stopping sales of Xiaomi smartphones, local newspaper SuomiMobiili reports. The only source for this quote is bleeping computer. But this quote is a misinterpretation of what google said by a journalist.
https://security.googleblog.com/2023/07/
>As a part of this chain, the attackers were able to use two n-day vulnerabilities which were able to function as 0-days: CVE-2022-3038 which had been patched in Chrome 105 in June 2022 and CVE-2022-22706 in the ARM Mali GPU kernel driver. ARM had released the patch for CVE-2022-22706 in January 2022 and even though it had been marked as exploited in-the-wild, attackers were still able to use it 11 months later as a 0-day. Although this vulnerability was known as exploited in the wild in January 2022, it was not included in the Android Security Bulletin until June 2023, 17 months after the patch released and it was publicly known to be actively exploited in-the-wild.
The "included in the Android Security Bulletin" does not mean google shipped a patch, as google does not ship device-specific patches in AOSP. It means they published a SECURITY BULLETIN alerting readers to the bug. The alert about the bug was 17 months late.

Additionally, about 34% of all Pixel phones are now sold in Japan, while only 31% are sold in the United States.

Is pixel 7 pro a good deal at $500 w/ trading in my Note 9? Nothing terribly wrong with my note except the charge port is loose as your mom's cunt and my replacement screen has some dust under the selfie cam. I know the 8 is coming out soon but I really only use my phone for interwebs, email, and lubetube.

Maybe even a poorfag Samsung A series could work, just no iFag shit because I hate my crapple work phone

>>
>>96100965
They're neat.. but I was at a T-Mobile(autocorrect put in the gay hyphen) and played with one of their folding phones once and I could feel a bump where the phone folds. I don't know how much it's improved but if I'm paying top dollar I want a smooth as fuck screen.
It's a cool concept but make it so I don't feel the crease.
I do know someone with one that loves it though.

You're now remembering that flashlight mode used to be a quirky hack. You had to download apps that would turn on the camera flash and it wasn't until just a few years ago that it became a core feature.

It's mind-boggling that manufacturers couldn't figure it out on their own. They put a light into a phone, so why not have flashlight from that very moment? I'm sure the guy who programmed the camera flash knew it would be useful.

I really like the idea of turning my phone into a mini-tablet for web browsing and videos but goddamn if the inner screen's durability and crease is a fucking dealbreaker
I don't know if they will ever be able to solve it.
>>
>>96124431
Pixel 7 Pro is dogshit.
The processor is shit, it runs hot as fuck, battery optimization is garbage, and the screen will start failing and you'll be forced to take it to some pajeet sounding place called "uBreakIFix" over and over until you get them to send you a refurb that will also fail.
I managed to trade mine in on a good deal for an S23+ and it's been smooth sailing so far. I can already tell the difference in processor speed and battery.

These are all non-sequitors and have nothing to do with each other. No one is forcing you to get a foldable phone and why does hating them make you want to get an iPhone? Get an Android phone from a company that doesnt make foldables then if you don't like the principle, but even then, nothing is stopping Apple from making one too. Then who are you gonna turn to? Obvious shill post is obvious.

>goddamn if the inner screen's durability and crease is a fucking dealbreaker
It's gotten really good lately. Some youtubers put the Z Flip 5 through 400k+ folds (which is about 10 years worth of use) even while underwater and in a bag of dirt and it still survived. Plus the Samsung Care insurance and the trade in values are insane and you can probably trade your phone in for a new foldable every year at 90% off.
