What are anons on /g/ doing about ad's on youtube? When browser watching uBlock seems to catch some of the ads, but its aids for tv or phone sometimes
New pipe still works, grayjay looks like a good option. Just got to learn not to consume media like a baby bird waiting for youtube to cram bullshit down your throat.
>>96086422>I SAW AN AWFUL AD AND IT REMINDED ME I'M NOT ACTUALLY A FROG IN A TUX SMOKING A CIGARgo fuck yourself
>>96086613good morning sirs
>>96086467i love you>>96086613burn in hell
>>96086422Literally just download the videos and serve them from your own hardware>but that takes planning and means you can't mindlessly scroooooooooolAnd?
>>96086790I'll do a lot not to spend $13.99/mo
Newpipe works....waiting for the updated codebase to drop but it works for most stuff
>>96086422I simply don't use youtube. If I need to play a youtube video for some reason, I just feed the url into mpv, which streams it through yt-dlp. Can't remember the last time I went to youtube's site and I've never installed its app.
>>96086422weird! it has never happened to me. may be you should use firefox instead of a chromium fork as your default browser, faggot!
>>96086422>tvI use smarttubenext>phoneI use newpipe>PCI use Brave
i vpn to argentina and get youtube premium for like a dollar, it's the only sub based shit i have
>>96086422I just stopped watching youtube desu. I should thank them for the change really, more free time
>>96086422for phone I use the revanced apk. it's the normal youtube app but no ads. it even shows approximate dislikes and skips sponsored segments
I have to purchase youtube premium so that I can listen to old radio shows with the app closed.
>>96088039use revanced you can turn off your screen with it too for freeeeeee
>AndroidReVanced>iOSuYou++>Smart TVSmartTube Next>DesktopuBlock Origin still works on Firefox for me, I have not once seen the detected adblock warning yet. When it starts happening I don't know I'll probably just use mpv or freetube if not switch browsers
>>96088063>revancedi have an iphone
>>96086422I use Pipe Viewer, there is a GTK version and a CLI version. Both are great. You can use the video player of your choice, and subscribe to channels through RSS.
On a phone?Watch the video on Firefox browser and turn the webpage in desktop mode.
>>96086422I haven't seen any yet.
>>96086422https://github.com/digitalblossom/alternative-frontends#youtubecome on do it yourself
>>96086422I just deal with it. Or if I have a bunch of stuff lined up to watch (ie subscriptions.) I just download them all and play locally
>>96086422If you're tired of your hack apps breaking all the time you gotta get premium and should also use the sponsorblock extention
>>96088100>uBlock Origin still works on Firefox for me, I have not once seen the detected adblock warning yet.same for me, and i watch a shitload of youtube
>>96089586>pay up goy >PAY UPNo thanks. Updating Revanced every 5-6 months when jewtube finally pushes an update trying to break it on purpose is well worth waving hundreds of dollars and allowing the stink of paying real money for media on my soul.
Right now it's pretty much just an endless mad race between UBO's guys and Youtube's pajeets to outpace each other. Every time Youtube bypasses UBO, UBO updates filters, rinse and repeat until one or the other gives up. The problem is that Youtube has a nearly endless supply of pajeets.
I use YouTube Premium since I'm not poor. It also comes with YouTube Music so it also replaced my Spotify subscription
>>96086422>uBlockwerks for me>phonei use brave on android >TVI'm not gay sorry
>>96086790how does that mean that? You need to download the video anyway, do you think streaming is magic pixie dust? It is just a marketing term for downloading so npcs fork over their bags. If anything, downloading only the video data itself is faster by saving on bandwidth for a one time cost of setting up things
>>96090892lol no, youtube is competing in the throwaway entertainment market, if UBO pushes the bar high enough yt continue to collapse
i assume if you want to watch something on TV you are going to watch something long, in that case why not just download it? on phone just use PipePipe or NewPipe x Sponsorblock
>>96086422>What are anons on /g/ doing about ad's on youtube?got youtube premium a year ago or so, never looked back
>>96086467This. Never heard of grayjay, though.
>>96087595>pays for YouTube
>>96086422>open termux>$ yt-dlp <URL>>watch video
>>96086422I use adblock+
>>96088944>wants the freedom to do what he actually wants to do with technology>buys iShitnigga you stupit
>>96091055I'm not gay or vaxxed so I need bro joegan. Youtube is trans and has aids.
>>96088944im so sorry, anon. I see your problem now.
>>96090892no amount of pajeets hastily pushing software changes can stop a simple css filter list, quickly and easily updated by millions at once. this is a war youtube will not win unless they shut their own site down, and even tho YT is already bleeding money I dont think those warty Jewgle managers have the schutzpah to do that even for a day.
off-topic question, but dont wanna open another thread just because Im a tech illiterate;youtube now enforced the shitty curved corners on videos on desktop. How do i get rid of it? I do have Violentmonkey installed, and Im willing to install some other crap. I assume I need some custom CSS script for it?
For some reason, for the first time in years I actually got an ad. Do I have malware or is Youtube actually bypassing the adblock?
>>96093981youtube bought a newer, healthier cat. the mouse has been forced to run faster, sometimes it isn't fast enough. it'll need some time to adapt to its new threat.
>>96093981You niggers were making fun of meNow look at you, becoming the boomerPathetic
>>96086422newpipe and brave on phone>tvsorry I'm not a niggergoycattle I don't watch talmudvision. My "tv" is plugged into my pc and I use it as a monitor.>>96086422>When browser watching uBlock seems to catch SOME of the adsSOME? are you sure you're using the actual ubo?
Has anyone else been having the problem where if you leave a youtube tab for a while and go back to it, after hitting play again it will reload the page (sometimes where you were at and sometimes back to the start) and then reloads it a second time? Its very annoying.
What doesn’t make sense to me is we can use download services and programs without fear of downloading an advertisement, but we can’t view videos without seeing ads?
>>96095146Shhhh. They let it happen because most dont both to look into it or want to bother with that.
>>96095088>My "tv" is plugged into my pc and I use it as a monitorwhy not just buy a monitor
>>96095381Because (s)he uses it in the same manner as a television in a living room, they just don’t own their own home and haven’t had the pleasure of experiencing it, so they view it from their bed or some stupid close distance instead
>>96086422vanced or libretube or revanced or newpipe or newpipe x sponsorblock or just use browser with invidious.
>>96095132has been a thing for months if not years
how the FUCK do i get the date of the video to appear in search results and on the video page itself
>>96088944Get Orion browser and uBO extension. Never see any single ads on YouTube.
>>96086422Firefox + uBlock Origin on desktopNewPipe with SponsorBlock on mobileI never see a single ad
>>96086422Invidious on both desktop and goyphone, problem solved.
>>96095521I only started getting it a few months ago. Any kind of fix?
>>96100661remember where in the video you were if you took a long break and refresh the page before resuming watching
>>96086422mpv ffmpeg yt-dlp
>>96086422unlock still works properlyalso revancedbut if it wasn't I'd just not use youtube.
>>96098130>>96098130This and Youtube Adblock on webOS
