>>96080027>Why aren't the AZ09 worth the shekels tho? They are incredibly hissy. *SSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH* is what you'll hear the entire time. People said the "Pro version" is slightly better. I wouldn't trust it. Basically all the earhook adapters are bad. Poor compromise or spend $100 for bulky FiiO MMCX-only pair. Just get real TWS like Galaxys Buds 2 or whatever. Few (not all) Soundpeats are decent for cheap price
summoning the jcally jm40 es9280c ownerdoes it come with usb-c to usb-a adapter?
>>96080027>>96080121the normal az09 has horrible noise floor, and battery life is meh (~4h), while the pro has a much lower noise floor (still noticeable), much better battery life (6h-8h), and the most flimsy and flexibe earhook that makes it a non-starter.also, all of their newer bt adapters are the same dogshit, but 3 times the price. you could look at the trn bt20xs, but it seems as horrible as the rest.
>>96080225>jcally jm40Friend, don't get some obscure piece of crap like that. So many other options, it's not even much cheaper. (Jcally is crap) but for example this one>https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805592748434.htmlDetachable USB cable means you can just stick any length ol' phone charge cable USB-C into it and it can be USB-A or USB-C on the other end. Dongles with the wire attached are looked at as an inferior, cheap design. Pay no more than $10 for those designs. Detachable cable: upgrade. Dual chips and dual output: upgrade. This little obscure dongle uses a higher quality chip and has detachable cablehttps://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805587619326.html
>>96080297I have the BT20S, bought long time ago, good enough for jogging and short commute, unnoticeable hiss, just the connection can get finicky sometimes, like having the phone in the pocket farther than the master unit leading to momentary cut, but still better than running with wires. Ordered the BT20XS, I'll see how good it is when it arrives.
>>96080552cool. my main concerns are the case and it pressing down on the IEMs, and how flimsy the hook part is. couldn't even use the az09 pro for working out because any slight tilt of the head would make it dangle and fall.
>>96080531>>https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805592748434.htmlthis is the second option i've considered but it supposedly performs worsei don't really understand, so what do you recommend if i want to spend $25-$35? the faudio one? What's weird about it is that advertised distortion (i know the number might just be entirely made up) is much higher at 0.0015 vs 0.0004
>>96080704BT20S's hooks are short and firm, they stay on even when I sprint. They are not perfect, far from it, but the cheap price and convenience made them worth it.KZ's hooks look unnecessarily long.

Regular 3.5mm is a bit bloated mid bass, but can see picrel for a helluva match overall to newer B&K target. DSP version is thicc Harman (I think adjustable in Tanchjim app like One?? not sure). Tanchjim One and Zero honestly are on the weaker side of universal ergonomics, but they can work fine for some people (me included), One is the new hot babe on the block. Final IEMs (E500, E2000, etc) strengths are mids, not so much the bass. I like Final E-tips, but I don't gush over them like some people. You may like em or think they're meh

Daddy Akros exposed Kiwi Memes. Possible they lied about Quartet being 2 x 10mm DDs in "isobaric" configuration. In reality it is 10mm + 6mm separate drivers not isobaric. Story loss if Hi-Fri or some other Facebook audio nerd opens up Quartet to show what's inside and it's not up to spec. >>96081421>>96081421>advice generalI think you should get your ears camera'd (not cleaned since the sucking/vacuum thing they use can damage hearing hair cells). don't do the sound check thing too since they would play loud as shit fuck thing from test that might worsen your condition.other than that my general advice is regeneration of hair cells.buy clinically approved vitamin B complex and take them.eat seeds preferably sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds - you can buy them roasted and (machine-)peeled.you may want to add bird's eye chili on your diet if you can.also a good idea to make sure you actually don't have upper teeth infection that causes inflammation on earschewing gum may also improve the muscle area around ears and may improve hearingas you may see, the reason for seed diet and chili is because it's bird diet. high pitched small animals have good hearing due to their diet so doing the same actually provides the same minerals, vitamins, fats needed for ear regeneration

>>96083937>>96083821>6k wellwtf are they doing? it should be 3k boost, 6k boost, 9k boost and flat 8k.that is the only best tuning for IEM since 3-6-9 is actually a fucking harmonic sequence then 15khz bell also makes for the perfect 1st,2nd,4th harmonic combination
>>96080531Jcally is fine, anon is clearly clueless.>>96080912>i don't really understand, so what do you recommend if i want to spend $25-$35?Any CS43131 from a known brand. You can even order this pos, it measures fine.
>>96092375>20dB bassmy niggathough I would prefer to flatten it down all the way to 70hz for pure isolated subbass.my preference looks pretty much similar to my PEQ'd measurement
>>96092421>I can't tell if you're trolling or just couldn't get a good sealNTA but I actually prefer this tuning on mine, I sometimes push bass to +30dB from the straight line. bad seal is not bad since the only way you can hear 20kHz is to actually have bad seal. I can't hear 20kHz if I have complete seal and so much worse can't hear up to 18kHz with a foam tip. it has something to do with impeding nature of having no room for air and iem diaphragm to move.I can hear 20kHz sine with the IEM 1 inch away from my ears but the IEM at 80-90% volume.
>>96094014based and birdpilled
>>96092526don't listen to that anon on foam tips. just do what you like. I always tune to that PEQ and then would not do complete seal for maximum confy and here we are I can still hear up to 20kHz meanhile audiofools who do complete seal will have fucked their ear hair cells to death by now and earrape themselves with their harman treble.

>>96093183Ah yes, 20 times more power than you need for IEMs instead of 10. And one completely worthless output.
>>96092597Idk why but my ears picky about tips. Large tips (incl. foams) make me uncomfortable, but these are comfortable and the in-ears don’t fall outLiterally all ear-hook IEMs for me fall out even while just sitting at the computer. These Samsung and some of other in-ears with an anatomical shells are attached to the tragus, making the seal quite deep and firmly
>>96094014>other than that my general advice is regeneration of hair cells.Link to study? Dr Cliff said that cell regeneration is a meme. Anyway, i take berocca, actovegin, citoflavin.
>>96094116CS43131 requires implementation with volume control. For example Tempotec sonata hd pro or Moondrop dawn pro, etc. there are actually several options in the $30-$50 rangeThe dongle in your picture at 32ohm gives the same 1VRMS as the cx31993. 2VRMS can only be reached only at 150+ ohms. This impedance extremely rarely on IEM. So it’s more rational to either save money with cx31993 or pay more to a more powerful amplifier with volume control and 2vrms@32ohm
>>96094185>bad seal is not bad since the only way you can hear 20kHz is to actually have bad seal. I can't hear 20kHz if I have complete seal and so much worse can't hear up to 18kHz with a foam tip. it has something to do with impeding nature of having no room for air and iem diaphragm to move.Wat.Masking isn't that strong and load stiffness doesn't dominate, especially at that frequency range.

The signal they gave me was within safe levels, and they don't test above 8k anyway bc of the HRTF and etc, you know the drill. I listened to REW a couple of times and i legit can't hear anything that goes above 7k except 13k and 17-18k (honestly can't remember) .I think it's either genetics or head trauma. If I lost my hearing from listening to music loudly - I would also lose hearing in the lower frequencies due to the frequent presence of bass boost, wouldn't I?Anyway, here's the pos i was using before taking the audio science pill. I also live with a parrot, but i can still hear this fucker.

I run a pawn shop and got a pair of Beats Studio 3 wireless headphones today. Boxed and sealed from a regular so I didn't put him through the regular routine of testing his shit, the headphones have more value new anyway. To make a long story short these are beyond terrible. I was going to give them to my son but he gave them back saying he thought they were fake, and after listening, I agreed. But everything else made sense, the serial number checks out, they sync automatically with iOS devices and I've tested the original Beats wireless which whilst being nothing to write home about were not nearly as laughably bad as these are. I don't know how a company can develop a product for some 3 years and make the next iteration both dramatically worse and more expensive. The ONE thing Beats had going for them sonically was punchy bass, which is nonexistent in this model. I know most of you already expect similar results this is just a cautionary tale for anyone who wants a pair of good looking headphones and is willing to have mediocre sound as a result -- these are not even mediocre. I have $25 sennheiser earbuds with a wider soundstage and punchier bass. This product is not just bad, it is legitimately criminal. I feel bad putting them in the window for sale and will warn anyone who comes to buy them of the horror that is this headphones resolution. I WISH they were fake.

at a certain pricepoint, I don't think universals make sense. customs are a more controlled environment, more comfy, just thoroughly better. why would you pay 500+ for universals?
>>96099200>>96099003>>96099430I'm not exactly a basshead, but EQ would fix it if I had an issue with it on the Hexa? Can use 1More Triple Driver as reference if it would be a major concern. Is the bass much worse than that? I'm more concerned with the treble and detail more than anything when I look up stuff.
>>96099660iems are bling at that point. either you're a performing stage musician or just an audiofool buying stuff you don't need and that's fine
>>96099909not really. the music might be placebo but the comfort and convenience and consistency isn't. it's definitely something unjustifiable unless you're very rich or very autistic though, but those people exist, and among those people, I don't understand uiems
>>96099200Even jazz enjoyers want to hear the double bass, not just be aware of its existence.
>>96099200the hexa love/hate here seems to oscillate wildly, imo it's a good iem but like you said not an all-rounder. hopefully the new truthear thing can be more honestly recommendable as a universal good budget pick.>>96099730my experience with hexa is that it's not like it sounds like the bass is absent from the music, i.e. tonal balance does not skew towards shrill and lean, but it's rather that the bass is very soft and impactless. it's entirely heard and never felt. i think eq wouldn't change that since it probably comes from the fact that their midrange ba contributes a lot to the bass playback in the crossover. for that reason i'd recommend hexa mostly for analytical listening and acoustic or jazz music. not that it will sound bad with other genres but it's definitely missing a fun factor you may want. on the other hand if excessive bass bothers you hexa is good at keeping you from being distracted by it without making the music sound too thin.

>KZ CastorNon-shill take:>Physical packageBulky generic shell. 6.0mm diameter nozzle lip. Switches are still flipped, one set is upside down when you take out of ear and look at them. One usable setting: 1100 (1:on, 0:off). This is bass unimpeded, which is the design of recent KZs (1:bypass circut, 0:increase impedance). Typical shit cable, solders at 2-pin are shit. Includes medium foam, set of black Starlines. Like other recent KZs, sound enjoyment tanks and driver flex is introduced if not using foams.>Sound - Only 1100 settingSwitches at 0011 (the way it came from factory) is shouty irritating mess, so moving on. Bass is fine and true to graph. It plays isolated up to 300hz and then is scooped down to flat. Benefits are larger bass quantity without as much mud and bloat, and increased contrast. Cons are non-linear tonality and transition in mid bass to mids, but being fair nobody seeking accuracy should consider this ofc.Main issue is forward upper mids. Not a set for high volume listening. When I desire more bass and push the volume, upper mids shout is revealed: female vocal glare, un-natural instrument tonality, etc. At the edge of being thin and shrill (a line crossed if the switches are not in 1100).The forward presentation continues in lower treble, but thankfully does not worsen with absurd high frequency spikes. Upper treble is actually tamed at the expense of some resolution. In all, bass gimmick and nothing more. The bass hits with deep authority, and you get to keep decently clean mids. The upper end sound is poor. It's not a quality 8mm driver producing the rest of frequency response. Higher volume makes it harsh and grating. Vocals are on the razor's edge of shout, cymbals and high frequency percussion are not natural or hi-fi, they are blunted and splashy. I'd say at most you save a few bucks buying it over Khan. Irrelevant otherwise. Another KZ fart in the wind. Look out for the next mediocre effort in a week. Suck my cock Tyvan.

>>96104502some kzs are good but there's no reason to want to be the guinea pig to find out which, they send mountains of review units out to people so you don't have to wait long for impressions and graphs anyway. even if it's only $13 that's $13 you could've put towards literally anything else and you wouldn't have another iem you won't listen to in your house. buying it expecting it to be bad so you can give an honest bad review isn't owning them either, they got your money and third worlders will always buy kz regardless of what reviews say.
