What would cure my distro hopping? I already installed Gentoo and now I want something that just works. Should I go back to Fedora, Mint, or Pop!_OS? What is the final distropill, /g/entoomen?

Pop!_OS has their Cosmic DE in development.

combines the best of Gentoo (compiling AUR packages and init freedom) with stable rolling release (if something fucks up, you just rollback)

Your assertion is deprived of any meanings: Mint is completely different from Windows, both look and behaviour wise.

been using pop for years now, after a few months of trying all the other memes out.
I'm not a fan of how hard their main dev is shilling tranny rust but when COSMIC launches it's going to be great.
but the real final distropill is whatever you want it to be.
Sadly so many people get caught up in which distribution to run but it doesn't matter nearly as much when you realize all a distro really does is prepackage programs and a desktop environment which you can change on your own anyway.
It's more about what package manager you want to use at that point then. having the entire AUR is probably the best way to go these days because it's so bleeding edge and desktop linux users who fuck around on /g/ definitely want that stuff. Oh and steamos being arch-based is definitely another reason.

just do whatever you like, I guess.

COSMIC is looking really good. I don't care what it's written in as long as it works and looks good.
>>
>>93674360
it looks so boring and flat though, kinda soulless

you can, if you're ok at reading directions and don't care about fingerprint readers

kill yourself. Gentoo is the final redpill distro.

Will this still work if I upgraded my pad a bunch? I tried it once and I couldn't get past the initial Mac loading screen. It would just shut down and loop.

listen I've installed and uninstalled steam a bunch of times on pop and I never ran into this issue. I still think the meme was intentional and linus being a media showman, wanted to dunk on System76 just because he can.

these should work with macos perfectly fine tho

also did you followed the vanilla guide when you tried it or did you used an EFI downloaded from the net?

I simply followed this guide:

hmm that guide is okay-ish, what upgrade did you did to your pad? never own one so I have no clue what can be upgraded

That issue has nothing to do with what happened with LTT.

I just installed nuke my Windows 11 PC with Linux because I read it's so much better, no viruses, and can now game on it.

What I am having a very hard time doing is turning on HDR for my monitors. How do I do that?

this cpu and its iGPU is fully supported
https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Install-Guide/macos-limits.html#cpu-support

>Nvidia MX150
this doesn't werks since apple no longer play with nvidia, disable it in your EFI
here's how (i recommend the Boot Flag method): https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Install-Guide/extras/spoof.html#disabling-gpu

>2TB Samsung 970 Evo+
>512GB WD SN520
these two works but you will have to disable TRIM for the Samsung
https://github.com/dortania/bugtracker/issues/192

>Intel AX210 Wi-Fi 6E
this werks too
https://openintelwireless.github.io/itlwm/Compat.html#mvm-gen-3-iwx

your device is hackintosh-able in theory, it might have been the EFI you downloaded from the github page isn't compatible with your device. I suggest you create your own EFI by following the vanilla guide here: https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Install-Guide/, you can find support on r/Hackintosh and its discord

those are the final resorts, most issue that you will even encounter is already asked and answered on the net

I was a long term Slackware user and some anon has suggested to install Devuan. As I am more into stable releases rather than rolling releases and as Slackware became boring to me, I took a chance to hop op on something new. After that day of the Devuan installation, I wasn't tempted to hop on some other distro.
If you are reading this anon, thank you very much for that suggestion, I was thinking you are only suggesting some "meme distro" shittery and after daily usage of Devuan, that was not a meme distro at all.
