What would cure my distro hopping? I already installed Gentoo and now I want something that just works. Should I go back to Fedora, Mint, or Pop!_OS? What is the final distropill, /g/entoomen?

cursed linux (this isn't windows)
been using pop for years now, after a few months of trying all the other memes out. I'm not a fan of how hard their main dev is shilling tranny rust but when COSMIC launches it's going to be great.but the real final distropill is whatever you want it to be.Sadly so many people get caught up in which distribution to run but it doesn't matter nearly as much when you realize all a distro really does is prepackage programs and a desktop environment which you can change on your own anyway. It's more about what package manager you want to use at that point then. having the entire AUR is probably the best way to go these days because it's so bleeding edge and desktop linux users who fuck around on /g/ definitely want that stuff. Oh and steamos being arch-based is definitely another reason. just do whatever you like, I guess.
>>93674335COSMIC is looking really good. I don't care what it's written in as long as it works and looks good.
>>93674360it looks so boring and flat though, kinda soulless

>>93674380Will this still work if I upgraded my pad a bunch? I tried it once and I couldn't get past the initial Mac loading screen. It would just shut down and loop.

I was a long term Slackware user and some anon has suggested to install Devuan. As I am more into stable releases rather than rolling releases and as Slackware became boring to me, I took a chance to hop op on something new. After that day of the Devuan installation, I wasn't tempted to hop on some other distro. If you are reading this anon, thank you very much for that suggestion, I was thinking you are only suggesting some "meme distro" shittery and after daily usage of Devuan, that was not a meme distro at all.
