Packaging stuff for it is actually kinda fun. I've built a few so far and I'm planning to submit them. There's one I haven't managed to build with every library enabled yet.

>>93679897nope>>93679868yes, docker is great, i'm glad we agree. you can't even understand it, you don't know how to use it, you don't know how to deploy at scale, you don't even know what kubernetes is. you're a fucking smoothbrain LOL
>>93679897>>93679947It is source based but since packages are guaranteed to be 100% reproducible they can ship prebuilt binary substitutes, so you only have to compile yourself if you modify the package in some way (building against different libraries, etc.).
>>93671291entirely correct
>93680911 Not true, you can not only download binaries but also use package transforms to customize each package however you like.Parameterized packages (Guix's version of Gentoo's USE flags) are also coming soon

I'm running it in a VM right now and am confused. If i'm on the full distro version, what happens if I set GUIX_PROFILE? The guide keeps telling me not to do it, or that the package manager should only tell you about it if you're not on the distro, but it nags me about it every time I do things. I currently have it set, but what are the consequences of that? Instructions unclear.
