so...
If I needed to use the phrase "painting (medium)" in my prompt, then I should use the brackets so that the prompt doesn't misunderstand me?

I guess I was confused because I don't know why I would need to use the words "painting (medium)" with parentheses.
Perhaps its so it doesn't place a painting on the wall?
Alright thank you, I think I get it now.

It's because of how booru tags work. On danbooru the full tag would read 'painting_(medium)' but in SD the tag would look like 'painting (/medium/)'.
Painting is an ambiguous word. It's a medium, an object, and an action. Gotta be real specific with computer's because context is difficult.

It can allow you to manipulate different parts of your image and pass it through multiple steps to produce hires, absolutely sickening results that are just not possible with webui
On top of that, once your image is finished, you could pass it through one more steps and add objects onto the final image
its just much more versatile and does things webui wont be able to do for a while because of the way its built, in order to do what comfy does webui would need so many extensions and quirkyness, i can't see it working as intuitively

glaze is so retarded, you can remove it with a simple denoising part, AND glaze wrecks the "original image", you can see especially in the circled area where everything has this "oil slick" sheen and texture to it.

made a major breakthrough today about negatives.

We know attention doesn't work that well—or, at the least, it doesn't just reduce strength in a straightforward way. (something:0) only barely reduces something's effect, (something:-0.5) reduces it more but introduces artefacts.

prompt alternating can help reduce strength—e.g. [something| ]—but the push-and-pull of taking it in and out repeatedly can create a visual 'average' between the two states which isn't desirable

Now, with BREAK, we can tone down negative terms appropriately. Let's say you want to tone down makeup, but not too much. So if your negatives were, e.g.,
>Art, digital media, twisting, contortionist, flailing, flexing, indigenous, Sarah Silverman, B&W, sores, blemishes, makeup

you might change that to
>Art, digital media, twisting, contortionist, flailing, flexing, indigenous, Sarah Silverman, B&W, sores, blemishes BREAK
>Art, digital media, twisting, contortionist, flailing, flexing, indigenous, Sarah Silverman, B&W, sores, blemishes BREAK
>Art, digital media, twisting, contortionist, flailing, flexing, indigenous, Sarah Silverman, B&W, sores, blemishes, makeup

And this would reduce the effect by 2/3, whereas (makeup:0.33) does not achieve that. For me this is big

Is it supposed to take literal hours to train a Lora at 768x768?
I'm making my first LORA at that resolution, and I'm only 5% of the way done after almost 15 minutes....
When I make a Lora at 512x512, I'm usually halfway done in 15 minutes with the same amount of steps.
for reference, I have a 3080 10 gb and 32 gbs of ram. So I'm not sure if training should be taking this long

no, Voldy added it into the webui almost immediately after I made that post about padding with <|endoftext|> a while ago

(it bears repeating that Voldy is based)

BREAK just pads a prompt to the 75 token limit so you can cleanly start another prompt, this is important because of how it adds prompts together to make a long prompt work. each separate 75-token chunk acts like its own prompt and (as far as I can tell) Stable-Diffusion returns something approximating an average of the multiple prompts, or something like that.

example:
left: "a cat a dog"
right: "a cat BREAK a dog"
(same seed/etc.)
you can see why being aware of the prompts separately would be useful. Also without BREAK changes to the first 75 tokens would change which tokens lead in the second prompt, meaning large unintended changes to the image results. BREAK is better.
>>
>>92178740
that would be a pretty funny genre of animation prompting. while most anons are prompting their anime ideas and gritty movies and 80s cartoons, some anons will prompt commercials for random non-existent products. then we can put it all together in a 27/4 streamed television station: AIBC

the future is soon, brothers

That's because strength are a hack. The basic explanation is that it will set the clip output of that index to "zero" but it won't lower the influence on the other token outputs.

I tried with another one that I think is yours and I get the same sort of difference though this one isn't as severe. It's sort of just missing the 'analog' style. Not sure what it could be, but oh well. Really it's become hard to reproduce prompts 1:1 now that so much stuff is getting added and people are doing all kinds of things. The HighresFix change was bad enough and I've been saying for a while that really EVERYTHING should be saved with a prompt from version number to individual noise settings. Thank you though for trying to debug me and the other anon's issues, unfortunate that we can't reproduce but I guess that just happens sometimes.

i can understand not being able to reproduce old seeds with newer version but supposedly we're both on the same versions so this doesn't make sense. the only other thing i can think of is that i have to run everything at full precision (1660s), idk if that makes a difference on outputs? maybe try adding --precision full --no-half --no-half-vae to your arguments. it will probably be slower but just to test?

there was an example in the post, and you can easily test this stuff out in the webui

look at the token counter in the prompt window. it says 0/75 when the field is blank. you start putting in tokens, the count goes up. Write a prompt that fills it up to 75, then add another word, a word that could have a strong effect. Now it'll say 76/150 or 77/150 or something similar (depending on the word you picked). Since the word you added was on the end, the effect should be small. But when you generate, you'll notice the effect of that word was really strong.

That's because SD only accepts 77-token prompts, where the first is a <|startoftext|> token and the last is an <|endoftext|> token, leaving 75 tokens for you to choose. So the trick for getting around this is that Voldy's cuts your prompt up to make chunks of 75 tokens, passes them through CLIP separately, and then concatenates the tensor results of those CLIP passes before giving to the UNet.

This means the word you added after 75 tokens was at the start of chunk #2, and to the UNet both of the embeddings that you concatenated together are equal.

Now the next part of understanding BREAK is that when you write a prompt that's shorter than 75 tokens, that prompt is padded with <|endoftext|> tokens, because all CLIP embeddings are 77 tokens long (start + 75 + end). So if you have your prompt that you've written, and it's 69 tokens long, and you want to add some more stuff that needs to be taken all together (like a scene description), you can just cap off the first prompt with BREAK so that the <|endoftext|> tokens are added automatically, and you can continue writing your scene description/whatever in a fresh set of 75 tokens

update before the thread dies... I was wrong. Voldy's discards all tokens beyond the 75th in the negatives. The "long prompts" feature just wasn't implemented for negatives. I was misled by the token counter on the text field.

funny enough, BREAK does "work", ie everything after the first BREAK does nothing, so it's padding the negative prompt to 75 the way it's supposed to

This. I want an asset creator that doesn't take a fucklong time just to generate a couple consistent character portraits and backgrounds. I give it a year until there's a superior paid version that the poorfags on /g/ will insist is worse because they can't/won't pay for it like windows, macos, photoshop, indesign, steam, etc. i don't have time to spend on stable diffusion so i offered to pay some dickhead on twitter to do it and he wanted 3/4 what actual artists are asking then sperged out when i told him to fuck off. i have a 3060 12g that should be good enough but it still takes forever to do this shit. just give me a paid version from adobe already.
