(I'm reposting on this thread because the other one died and I only got one suggestion.)

What would be the best sounding and secure fit TWS earbuds for sports (running)??

budget doesn't really matter, I just want something that sounds good and will stay in my ears while I'm doing my runs

people online seems to say that the airpods pro 2 are decent but I'm not too sure about the fits. Powerbeats Pro seem to have a great fit since they have an ear hook but the sound is probably not that good.

an IPX rating of at least 4 would be preferable since I want to use them for workouts.

also, I bought the Truthear Hexa not long ago and I really like the sound signature on them so if I can get the same on the earbuds thatd be nice too.

>>
>>92158370
Exact fits will be impossible to recommend, since everyones ears are shaped differently. However, the one universal factor would be how deeply the TWS bud inserts into your ear. For example, both Airpod Pros and Galaxy Bud Pros have pretty shallow insertions, you can tell just by looking at product images.
I think your best bet would be to browse through Scarbir's list and pick one out based on how long the tip looks in the images. Longer tip = goes deeper in ear.

i can't believe how brittle this casing is. you can see cracks everywhere. all caused by a single drop from waist height
anyway, nothing of value was lost. the headphones were uncomfortable to wear, the eartips kept slipping off the earpieces because chinese retards didn't make a notch to keep them in place. the sound quality wasn't anything special.
my previous headphones, ie80 worked fine for 10 years until i went full retard and decided to switch to meme headphones which lasted just a little bit over 1 year

No faggot, they just can't build to spec.
The 2pin connectors on my SA6 are so tight I cant remove them without pliers. Not that I need to as it came with a superb cable with modular connectors that are also perfectly built.
And it's not just Dunu, when did a KZ or CRA ever fall off its connector? The only set I own where this happens regularly is on my Oxygen, not that I ever listen to it, but at least when it falls on the ground it still works afterwards.

Letshuoer D13
>Remarks
Nice stock cable. Good gauge for quality feel, still supple and compliant. Marked Red R / Blue L on cable and shells.
Comfy fit. Small lightweight metal shells with longer nozzle length for bullet-like insertion. Using stock cable and tips, I can easily get the IEM to float and stay sealed with no pressure points.
Passive noise isolation is not great with the low-profile shell.
Very easy to drive.
>Sound
Pleasant W-shape. Simple comparison is that D13 is a dynamic driver version of S12. True and not true. Similar traits like great bass control and texture, great overall clarity and resolution.
Clean sub-over-mid bass tuning emphasizes genres where you want it, but is not bloated to obscure otherwise. Not really "basshead" levels, but tasteful and surprises with impact.
Male vocals are a strength of D13. Great clarity, a natural body and weight without being boomy or muddled. Female vocals don't have a ton of energy. Clear and nice as well, just a step back.
No detectable recess in mids. Gain is early, but not too elevated. A hint of mild treble peak, acceptable level. Treble extension is not over-emphasized, claps/snaps/hi-hats sound appropriate in mix. Compared to S12, D13 treble is a bit more tolerable and less fatiguing.
Sound separation and layering are good in music. From testing in gaming, not great ability to perceive directional cues. Too narrow, jumps left-center-right in a small range without a lot of spatial depth.

>Overall
I enjoy sound of D13! A quality W-shape 1DD. Biggest knock against it is similar to S12 con; not for the treble sensitive. Pretty energetic with detail. Rec similar to the idea behind S12 -> Z12, simply cranking up the bass even more with EQ elevates the sets to "unique" because their bass performance is so clean, responsive, slamming, textured all at the same time (uncommon). (I haven't heard 2DD yet, maybe something like Legato will blow my mind and set new bass quality expectations??)
>Consider D13?
Genre synergy according to my preferences: Good for hip-hop, rock, male vocal, older collections, less-than masterfully produced music, podcasts/Youtube videos. Clean mids and a fun engaging V-shape sound. Good male vocal clarity. For EDM, Jap future pop, modern pop, I prefer more sub and mid bass for the fullest low-end sound (^ EQ).
Less synergy: if listen to classical, orchestral, jazz, female vocal. I tend to like more warmth in mid bass for "thicker, natural, analog" tonality. Sound can be too clicinal/treble-focused with D13. De-emphasized upper mids places female vocals behind a bit. Non-linear treble reveals flaws more when listening to pure instrumental piano, violin, etc. Not a good gaming set. Not great isolation.
>Comparisons
Easy hot take is choose D13 over FiiO FH3 if desiring a ~$100 V / W-shape. Better sound and tonality across entire FR. FH3 has some redeeming qualities, but I'd pick D13 every time. Hard to parse out a comparison versus S12, both strong sets in my book desu. If gaming or "soundstage" are a concern, choose S12.

for me
5k bump is "detail" but doesn't jive with all ears, can be sensitive and not like that boost
6k dip is ESSENTIAL for less treble fatigue. boosted 6k (in context of graphs with consistent 8k aligned peak) is the opposite of non-fatigue and adds glare/sibilance/metallic/digital timbre. likely what anons are hearing when they don't love that upper mids/lower treble area in Aful P5

but this is a greater conversation and reality about UNIT VARIANCE IN CHI-FI lads. it ALWAYS fucking exists ALWAYS no matter the IEM no matter the company no matter the price point. kilobuck monarch anole vx will have it too. honestly probably more prominent in multi-driver/cross-over setups because of the added complications of the sound tubes, filters, freq divison, etc. all components need to be working in exact same way in exact same specs each unit, near impossible for cheap-o Changs with multiple-db variance QC.

If you hear hiss a better DAC can solve it, if it doesn't get loud enough a better DAC can solve it, some DACs pick up interference from phone's network activity, unrelated to the price. If you don't have these issues you have to go out of the way to find a difference between DACs, some make clicking sounds at some tracks, some begin hissing when you play tones above 15k, some clip at max volume.

Getting into the headphone market now is a losing battle, everyone already knows the brands and models that are good at their price ranges sticks to them and very few people are interested in the "new kid on the block" anymore when the ol' reliables are around.
>>
>>92180045
they’re getting cornered from random drop sales of hd6xx/58x jubilee sales and now other newcomers like the Thieaudio Ghost. still not great build quality either.
>>
>>92180235
>>92180508
Makes sense. I just assumed if they successfully hit good sound w/ good price it would have launched well given their decent brand reach. Apparently they didn't hit those marks, I heard about the poor build quality, etc. Saw Linsoul advertising their Thieaudio Ghost, interesting. Time will tell if Chang can break into the headphone market
>>
>>92180854
well thieaudio is Chang. But overall headphones are a dead meme. Even the most established and well regarded headphones crumble at the sight of cheap iem POS.

Headphones are an outdated design with zero innovation taking place at reasonable price range and the manufacturers not caring about the flaws because people would buy it anyways, with 660s2 being the most recent example. I have owned a pair of DT1770s but after listening to 7hz zeros I have sold them because they just dont make a cut. Also the "fit" problem with iems is greatly exagerrated as headphones are also far from ideal with pressure on the head, the outer ear eventually after a few hours, worn pads etc.

Fit issue.
This is why actual in-ear monitors used by musicians on stage are usually custom molded. With custom shells you can move around, sing and do whatever you want without worrying about seal/fit.
Still, even with off the shelf consumer """IEMs""" you can get a good enough fit but it's impossible to guess which one will fit you and which one won't. And then if you're particularly unlucky it's just and endless stream of
>make swallowing motion - seal broken
>move neck muscles - seal broken
>move your eyes - seal broken (I'm not kidding)
>move your jaw - seal broken
>move any face muscle - seal broken
And so on.
>>
>>92188554
>>92188779
Depends on the shell shape and tips. ath im-02 would never stay in my ear for long. vk4 with spring tips just disappears in my ear, doesn't slip out even when I'm eating.

Shell shape is more important than tips but sure, some poor fits can be salvaged with a bit of tip rolling.

What programs does /iemg/ recommend to creat virtual surround sound/soundstage effect?
>>
Ok I don't know where to ask this but it is related to the topic of the thread, I have a DAC/AMP combo unit that is powered by USB, both the power and the signal come from the same cable and connected directly to my motherboard.

Today I discovered that when I touch the dac/amp I hear a extremely low(as in low volume) buzzing sound, could it be a ground loop?
The cable that I am using is of decent quality, Anker brand.
The power supply of my PC is also pretty good, XPG Core Reactor 850w.

Maybe the wiring of my house is fucked, I don't know.
>>
>>92189245
Yep, I have confirmed it, it has something to do with grounding, I put on my slippers and when I touch it is completely silent but if I put my foot directly to the ground and touch it I hear the buzzing sound.

Maybe a weird question to ask here, but since /hpg/ is ded I might as well: I'm looking to get a desktop dac/amp, since my pc is underneath my desk and switching headphones/IEMs means having to reach to the back of my motherboard.
The topping DX1 seems like a nice little thing, but would it be able to drive my HD650s well? I know from reviews that it does well with IEMs and sensitive headphones, but I'm unclear on wether it has enough power for something like the HD650. As you can probably tell, I'm not very good at interpreting the technical specs of these kinds of things. The HD650 is probably the most demanding piece I'll get for a long time, so if it can handle that I feel like the DX1 is a winner.
>>
>>92197324
Something with 4V output would better for 650. Shio is the cheapest option with 4V but its DAC is sus, I'd rather get hidizs s9.
>>
>had a choice between Moondrop Chus and Salnotes Zeroes

SMSL C200 is like double the price and 10x the power with some more functionality. And it looks more high-quality for a desktop component imo. Note it's only 4.4mm / 6.35mm.

>>92197647
That's a shame. Is the DX1 significantly lower than 4V output? I don't question that the hidizs s9 is good, but I was specifically looking for something that's made to be put on a desktop. I'm just not sure how I'd fix a dongle like that in place. Probably tape it down or something, but that would look kinda shitty.
>>92197973
Thanks for the recommendation, but if possible I'd like to stay around 100 euro.
To be clear, I'm not all that unsatisfied by my motherboard's sound (which has an ALC892, so nothing all that good). But I'd just really like something to put on my desk so I don't have to go underneath my desk and fiddle at the back of my pc every time. Having a physical volume knob to turn is also a plus. What I'm trying to say is that I want something simple that'll be at least as good as my mobo audio. I'm willing to spend a 100 for a volume knob and the convience of having the audio jack in a more reachable place, but not if it'll make my headphones sound like ass.
>>92198364
Thanks senpai. Is the Zen Air Dac significantly more powerful than the topping DX1? I think I read in a comparison yesterday that they were pretty similar to eachother, but I can't seem to find it again so I can't doublecheck. The reason I'm asking is because if they're pretty much identical, I can get the DX1 for 15 euro less.
