Brave search is pretty decent, it's only for the obscure stuff that I try Google, but half the time even google doesn't have it

I don't want an alternative, I want this shit to no longer be necessary

Startpage is basically just a free VPN around Google.

I thought Brave and Bing's search is actually partially fueled by google's.
>>
>>88029409
>Many tests (including all the tests I listed in the “Methodology” section) resulted results identical to Google, revealed by a side-by-side comparison with Google, Startpage, and a Searx instance with only Google enabled. Brave claims that this is due to how Cliqz (the discontinued engine acquired by Brave) used query logs to build its page models and was optimized to match Google.note 8 The index is independent, but optimizing against Google resulted in too much similarity for the real benefit of an independent index to show. Furthermore, many queries have Bing results mixed in; users can click an “info” button to see the percentage of results that came from its own index. The independent percentage is typically quite high (often close to 100% independent) but can drop for advanced queries.

The other day there was a thread with EU bros fighting with Amerifats,
I wanted to reply with an image of American appliance. Googling it and specifically adding “american” would end up with UK results. Check result settings
>can’t switch location

Tell me how is this different to the Chinese firewall now

>>88028075
I just want one where it will never give me a result written by a journalist.

Just go directly to your preferred news outlet's coverage.

Brave Search is good. Also the CEO is based and anti-censorship.

Yep.com is a new one that came out about 1-2 months ago. It is pretty good with a surprisingly big index.

>>88028086
shit, especially searx, that shit gets rejected search requests all the time, slow as fuck
>>
>>88029409
Bing is not fueled by Google, they have their own crawler and partner with Yahoo, Google hates Bing as it is an actual competition

From my experience, Brave has mostly Bing results and none from Google
>>
>>88031105
Use your own self-hosted Searx instance. It's still slow but it generally doesn't matter as long as it's serving its purpose of providing a mixture of different results.
>>
>>88028075
Bing is fine. Ddg is jewified but was decent years ago when I used it (it's not now, don't bother).

Searx worked fine but broke without explanation sometimes and I couldn't do searches, and I didn't like that it would default to sending Google my search queries.

I haven't used Google since 2014 and everything is fine. You're just a spoiled technophobic bitch, as per every single person who says what you're saying
>>

At this point you could get a RSS feed for that

Brave search is legitimately much better. Even Bing and Yandex are superior considering how lobotomized Google search is at this point.

It doesn't matter because google's not good anymore so why do the alternatives need to be good?
>>
>>88028075
We are not very far from Yandex.com being able to replace Google entirely.
The issues:
>still includes cyrillic results
>does not have the same number of English results as Jewgle
>does not have an algorithm / framework like Jewgle that makes the front page sufficient for 95% of searches
>do not open in new window option doesn't fucking work

On the other hand
>does not censor (non-Russian) dissident information
>actually relevant and easy to browse and detailed image search
>button based "infinite" scroll

I use it for image search and controversial information. I might start using it for more since Jewgle shills pajeet websites whenever I search tech info.

Brave Search is pozzed, only good thing about is goggles in theory, which is revolutionary and the future of search engines
>>
>>88028317
Startpage is placebo that gives you different (inferior) results for the same search.

Remember, if it's free, then what's the product?

>Remember, if it's free, then what's the product?
Generally it's just advertising for the company's primary product which is generally some form of enterprise solution.
