Because searching for an obscure query to a technical problem isn't something they can sell ads against, and it isn't something they can shill with "sponsored" or "promoted" results. So if you search for something that g**gle has decided they can't effectively exploit you with, they just silently return the closest results that make them money. They don't do stupid things, they do asshole things.

Either returns unrelated things or just returns three results, even though I typed in a specific query that should get me to the site I found on Google a few hours earlier, but it doesn't. I hope to set up my Searx instance soon, but Bing, Yandex and the like often aren't much better, unfortunately.
