Nah, we have these tap to pay verifone things everywhere in the Dakotas and rural western MN.

The reason we have all this insane crypto currency shit in the first place is because American banks are stuck in the 80s.

>that's unironically less advanced than thirdies

Literal Africans have been using instant mobile payments/transfers since 2007. Parts of the US are 15 years behind Kenia, Nigeria etc.

this nigga gets it. congoids were voting and paying with their underpowered feature phones, and still do now, because smartphones are still a luxury there. same with inda. hundreds of millions of poos with feature phones. whatsapp got big because of them and those phones.

This picture was already 10 years old when you first started using it 10 years ago, Hans. Now go strap on a pair of lederhosen and pay 30 cents a kilowatt hour for solar power like a good little cuck.

I want less banking tech in america in 2022 and I'm not being ironic.
You may have cash, and checks if you really absolutely must hold up the line. Please and thank you.

i live in australia and it's the last thing anyone worries about here. vary rare to hear about people getting robbed at an ATM in major cities. unheard of out in country towns.
>>
>>88026513
yup, i'm an aussie too. Glad to hear I'm not the only one not worrying.

nah i'm not worried. but.. being conscious of your surroundings is a must around cash at any time. some suss cunts out there.

American culture is built around worshipping violent niggers here, what do you expect?
>>
>swipe
>please use chip
Fuck damn just let me swipe.
>>
>>88026398
i dont know anyone in america who ever got held up at an atm. i do know plenty of guys or their relatives who got attacked at atms in jamaica, eastern europe and africa. and in the instances where they fought back successfully, they had weapons. cops wont be there to protect anywhere around the world, and most places are spiritually dead shitholes where the local community wont help you out, and will not get involved.

mastercard have said that magstripe will no longer exist after 2026. everyone will be using chips whether they like it or not.

I've been using tap to pay literally everywhere since 2020, and cash for the small businesses who still charge you to use credit cards because they refuse to up their prices or eat the banking jew fees, I'm not even mad, they're the last line of defense from everyone being forced to have their payment cards, drivers license, passport and vaxpass on their phone.
>>
>>88027476
>who still charge you to use credit cards because they refuse to up their prices or eat the banking jew fees
charging people to use credit cards is a scam. if they jack up prices just to cover costs of bank fees, people will just fuck off somewhere else. local business near me jacked up prices by 5% to 10% (unrelated to banking cards), and most of his regular customers disappeared. last time i went past there they were closed and sign saying "not enough staff - back tomorrow" - never seen the business do this before. so, they're hurting a bit. you can only jew your customers so much before they think you're a cunt and they'll never return.

contactless is a solution in search of a problem, and I resent its existence because it means I had to buy an RFID-blocking wallet.
>>
>>88027613
>contactless is a solution in search of a problem
100% facts. it's a woeful technology.
>>
>>88024078
Yeah but that’s because Kenyans didn’t even have payment processing until like 5 years ago, of course it’ll be more advanced than bodega shops who have been using the same swipe reader since the 80s
>>
>>88026398

In Latina America you can buy an insurance plan at the atm for a few bucks that covers your withdrawal for like an hour in case you get followed on your way home. Very dystopian (and a prelude of what’s to come)
>>
>>88023764
>pic
Literally everywhere I go in the US that has a chip reader lets me use it unless it's out of service. So the ones pictured are probably just broken units.
>>
Meanwhile years ago on this very board (you can go look at the archives if you don't believe me) Europeans were making fun of Americans for still using swipe to pay over chip and pin

It's a solution to the problem of being forced to carry around a wallet with caveman technology like banknotes and plastic credit cards when you already carry your phone everywhere.
>>
>>88028203
Smartphones are huge and heavy compared to a card. But yeah, it makes sense to pay with the smart phone if you are holding it in your hands at all times.
From my perspective it doesn't make sense to have "phone pay" when you already have a contactles card.
>>
Do Americans really not have contactless cards? I'm in a Slavic shithole and contactless cards have been the norm since at least 2015 here.
>>
>>88028332
they went straight for the smart device thing skipping contactless cards

The readers were integrated to the cash machines back in the day when chips didn't exist yet, therefore having to hand out the card. Then came the chip cards along with the current year small card terminals -> you never experienced swiping to the terminal thingy.
>>88028332
>>88028383
It's been more or less available here since 2010 but I got my first contactless card in 2020. I guess I managed to skip it by one card.

The phone pay NFC meme predates the rollout of tap to pay cards in the US, now they co-exist but I don't really get the point either.
Maybe that's why I see more and more people with those onions mini wallets that magnetically clip to your $1000 smartphone, it's for the cards not yet supported by Google or apple pay.
I can't help but think it's feminine as fuck though, women already have folio phone cases that double as a woman's wallet/clutch.

I struggle to remember last time I swiped a card in Europe. Probably over 10 years ago.
I heard that people in the US use checks. I have literally never seen a single check in my entire life.
Only the old people who are now pensioners talk about how they used it "back in the day".

You are dumber than you think.

You should NEVER get rid of your checks. The system will never be honest enough for that reality to happen. And just because you ARE not using checks ever l, like a retard, doesn't mean checks stopped having value. I will not explain why

You're not cool and trendy because you're stupid enough to use your phone only for purchases.

You really have no idea how dumb you are. You came here expecting praise and acceptance but that was never in play

Hmm, not sure about this.

I live in western NY, and I use Apple Pay almost everywhere I shop. There are a few mom & pop restaurants I go to that still don't have Apple Pay, but they all at least use the chip.

I don't think I have actually swiped a card in a couple years. America is retarded about a lot of things, but I don't think this is one of them.
