THE SHIT DON'T WORK
YOU CAN GOOGLE THE VIDEO AND IT COMES UP AND YOU SEARCH IT ON YOUTUBE SAME SHIT AND IT DOESN'T COME UP AND THEN THEY SHOW YOU OTHER SHIT THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT YOU SEARCHED

AWFUL ASS CANCER FUCK YOUTUBE SEARCH

I'm beginning to hate youtube more than any other website on the planet. The Youtube mobile app is already my most hated app I don't use it
>>
frfr on god shits broken my nigga
>>
>>86936738
Sir please do the needful and post an example
>>
>comment has 25 replies

also try searching for any Biden meme video.
It's not broken, it says "fuck off" to you dirty peasant.
>>
>>86936738
The results are based on monetization metrics and your previous watching

The search term is just a hint at what kind of clickbait you would like
>>
>>86936738
>AND YOU SEARCH IT ON YOUTUBE SAME SHIT AND IT DOESN'T COME UP
That means it's working. They don't want you to see whatever you are searching for, which probably is something that is not completely aligned with whatever agenda they are after atm.
>>
does anyone remember what that site was that let you search youtube videos in a date range?
>>
>>86937341
Why the heck would you want that?
>>
>>86937598
That would be useful. It would only be based on crawling the YouTube though and probably doesn't have many videos in the database.

The only way to find a video you want is to use a non google search engine and type

>Site:youtube.com WhatIamLookingFor

There are videos that I can type in verbatim to the youtube search and it will LITERALLY be 500 videos in. I use this method and the video I want is the FIRST result. Google search is AIDS
>>
I don't understand why the results just... end. It suddenly switches to random recommendations and stuff from subscriptions. Wtf?
>>
>>86936738
I just use Invidious.

yewtu.be
invidious.snopyta.org
>>
>>86937703
In the past, the same results came up over and over. Now they changed it to this.
>>
>>86937721
Uses the same broken search.
>>
>>86936738
And they have the audacity to change the UI as well. I hope YouTube destroys itself in confusion.
>>
I only recently found long lost home videos due to extensive use of parameter searches outside of YouTube. YT’s own search is SEO’d to the point only influencer types show up, it’s damn near useless.
>>
Works in newpipe and vanced but for how long
It's beyond fucked in desktop
>>
>>86937737
I'm convinced their UI changes are purely to test what a normie will put up with. Some changes are just so arbitrary I can't help but think it's devs going
>Heh, do you think these dumb bastards will put up with this change?
>I don't know let's see
>Are they still using it?
>Yeah let's try changing this and... Heh look at the dumb bastards flopping around.

>>
>>86938250
Use google to find youtube vids. It's a roundabout way.
>>
>>86936738
When you search for something on youtube you only get about 10 or so corporate approved videos in your search results and everything else is lost in the abyss.
>>
>>86938269

i try google search they dont always show the year in search result
>>
>>86936738
It isn't broken, it is entirely intentional.

Yeah that had been the case for quite some years now, I don't want to see "Related videos" or "Videos that you may like" when I'm specifically looking for a video using the search bar.

that is not problem for me i just want a good website or program to find music by the year and by the words in search that show real result
>>
>>86936738
on sites where engagement is the main objective, it's not in their best interest to give you what you want. they want you to have to struggle to find what you want because there's a greater chance you'll forget what you're looking for and get distracted. they want you to live on the site, not find what you want and leave.

it was this but it appears to be broken now

looks like you can use the youtube api to do it though

yes is broken i get error about google api etc
>>
>>86939234
OK, good

Maybe they limited the number of queries you can do for free??
>>
>>86936738
Believe it or not google is more shit than it used to be because of how they are paid to load the results.
>>
>>86939367
>how they are paid
Google's "engineers" and I guess Alphabet altogether have an agenda and this is part of the way they are pushing it.
>>
>>86939234
So you need to get a verified developer account, which costs $25. Then you can search videos by date using some software.
>>
>>86939378
no wonder they push music garbage with drugs, sex, money and twerk dance lady gaga, miley cyrus etc

There, jewtube werks and has soul again.
>>

Even the personalized recommandations are shit. With all the AI engineers working at Jewgle, you'd think they'd be able to make a recommender system more elaborate than "here are the most popular videos from the last 4 accounts you watched"
>>
Anyone know the channels are essentially unbrowsable?

Like if theres a lot of videos, you can sort by newest, views, oldest. Then you can not like check anything in the middle. You'd have to "scroll" down like 10 mins.

It's like anti-design.

>>
>>86944671

>>
almost every time I search for a video the UI freezes and I end up refreshing the page.
>>
>>86937598
YouTube search only returns the top 300 most relevant videos (according to their algorithm.) With around a billion videos imagine how many videos have been uploaded with the same generic title and no additional information. You could have tens to hundreds of thousands of videos all with the exact same title. If you search for that title you will only see 300 of them.

tl;dr Probably only 1% of YouTube content is accessible to you. The other 99% is an unknown unknown that is locked away by their algorithm.
>>
>>86944716
>around a billion videos
correction: 15 billion as of 2020

>>
>>86944675
How can you prove that?
>>
My favorite is when you search with filters like "sort by view count" and it just completely disregards that setting completely
>>
>>86946143
I know part of it is YT picking what they want you to watch, but I'm also convinced that Google's search engine (and consequently Youtube's search engine) are insanely outdated and simply can't index the sheer amount of results it gets anymore. They just keep this on the hush because if shareholders learned the extent of this, Google stocks would tank faster than Eric Clapton's son to the pavement.
>>

I don't believe this. Their algo is just broken, with too many things influencing it. From what I've heard from people who worked at Google on YT stuff, there's so many layers of management and such trying to get their needs met with it, it's amazing it works at all.

I ony watch from my sub list, so the "recommended" algo doesn't work on my account, or should I say, if I accidently click on something, it throws 20 similar channels at me, like "OH OH HE WATCHED THAT THING THROW ALL OF THEM AT HIM". If they were propping uip big money channels - which I'm sure is in the mix there somewhere, I wouldn't get the random, obsucre, never heard of it channels in my recco feed. It's honestly hilarious what shit they dredge up.

I think they put way more emphasis on shadowbanning channels than anything else, anyway. And that overall their entire platform is the ultimate spaghetti code of competing algos that barely works.

They definitely changed something, when I search for a specific topic by date release now it's a mess because I only get like 5 videos in order of release then recomended videos from probably one year before then more recent videos but from days ago but not in orded and then I get the same first videos again like a loop. Why did they do this, it's so retarded. It reminds me of the awful search engine of the porn sites

Google/YT/Alphabet/whatever bleed money every year though, it's a propaganda control machine first. That's why they push news from CNN, CBS, BBC, NYT, etc. on your search results. It used to be "broadcast yourself".
