extra treble doesn't stop a headphone from feeling warm. The redpill to warmth is bumped mid frequencies ~1k and treble that falls slightly short of a target curve. That plus the accurate bass on the 560s will make them feel as deep as the 650 in all likelihood.

Focal Clear
>literal perfect response from 1k to bass, with a smooth roll-off from 40hz downwards
>treble peaks match target response with perfection; average downward trend matches target curve shape but averages lower, preventing sibilance and giving the signature "clarity" sound that the Focal Clear is known for.
>preposterously low distortion
>total tonality is a perfect response of bass and mids with smooth, pleasant, but present treble and no distortion of any kind
>according to your source, a top 5 headphone of ALL TIME.

560s
>bloated bass which gives a veil or muffling to the true mids
>1k-4k is pretty good but the treble beyond that peaks from 4-9k which will make every cymbal crash, every chime, and every high pitched female voice screech over the rest of the sound, probably causing literal pain
>after 10k the FR jumps off the charts as it skyrockets, causing sibilance on TOP OF the already over peaked treble
in the end, this is a pretty unappealing u-shaped headphone that people pretend is an HD600 with bass. In reality it's worth every penny of it's $150 pricetag and not a dollar more.

I finally have the free time to go through with my stupid mod project.
tl;dr
>have defective AD700X
>have aliexpress "Denon" drivers
>have soldering iron
The only thing is that I'm really shit at soldering and soldering to drivers is not exactly beginner friendly (small pads, stay too long and you burn the voice coil which is a dead driver)
Any practical tip before I fuck shit up?

Other than that it seems like an easy mod, the driver fit near perfectly in the enclosure and there's no messy glued shit in there so it's nice to deal with, and if you fuck the headband cable you can turn it dualsided very easily.

Add some fresh solder (or flux if you have it) to help the old solder flow better. This should allow you to get the soldering done quickly enough to not damage anything.
Pre-tin the pads on the little PCB on the new drivers, as well as the headphone wiring. Touch the two together, touch the soldering iron (with a bit of solder on the tip) to that, and they'll fuse right together.
>>
>>86948780
i'm using a soundblasterx g6 but i wouldn't use the word 'recommend'
i just can't find a better option
it has line and optical i/o
i'm using an rca to 3.5mm adapter to digitize physical media, and it works well
however the driver isn't the best and the microusb port is not very impressive

Thoughts on bone conduction earphones? I haven't been treating my ears well, so they seem like a less harmful option for me. I find that I wake up with a little bit of tinnitus after a night of headphone use.

>>86949515
they are not less harmful than traditional drivers, all they do is transform your head into the drivers instead

but you are the insane person. You want bloated bass and piercing treble with sibilance.

You are also poor and won't spend more than $200 on something better than what you already have. You are projecting your mental illness onto me along with your poor decision making skills, pretending that I am a fool for buying something expensive when the truth is that I am a lot better at making decisions than you because you are poor and I am not.

You did fucking great.

You are in for a top 5 headphone of all time, and much better than the successor: the MGs
>>86936991

They have amazingly low distortion, so every part of the frequency response is "Clear."
>>86936968

They have a very, very even FR response from the lowest bass all the way up through the highest treble. There is no bloat in the bass, no high pitched shrieking treble; just smooth clarity from top to bottom of the FR graph.
>>86936968

You are also getting a headphone that is regarded as one of the best by people who have listened to more expensive gear than anyone else ITT. People who have listened to nearly every high-end headphone in production today claim this is among the best.

No, unless you have a proper room or put the DSP correction effort, you should take a roller coaster of a FR as a given for speakers. With headphones you take the room completely out of the picture and you can even sort of work with universal EQ presets.

Not only is bass response completely mangled by the room but you have several Q 10-30 resonances thrown in for good measure. Room even affects bass distortion which was surprising to me. Also if the speakers have bad off-axis response EQ can't fix that.

With headphones you take rollercoaster treble as a given, presets are useless above 5k.

There aren't many people here, so one can easily just recommend the same headphone for everyone (the DT990 guy is another example). Though at least it's a solid headphone recommendation (like the DT990), relatively cheap, usually comfortable, decent all around, replaceable cable and durable.

pros:
more subbass (X2 basically has none)
more detail
treble not as peaky
cons:
no where near the level of soundstage the X2 offers.
not as comfortable.
stock cable is impressively bad

once i got used to them and replaced the cable it was just the soundstage, but the improved detail and much faster drivers were worth that tradeoff to me and they're my only headphones now.

worth upgrading to entry level audiophile (e.g. dt 770) if I have something like Sennheiser G4me one ?
I understand beyerdynamics are nice and everything, but is the quality really that different ?

Also have a question, how do you guys swap between headphones and speakers, like physically having to go behind it is a pain, how do you guys set it up so you don't have to do that, have it plugged in to an amp/dac whatever, or what ?
I bought a splitter but i feel like it cuts the power and the headphones are quitter from it

Probably AKG K371-BT which would be well within budget.
They are closed-back (sound does not leak at cost of performance related loses) and can be used via wired or wireless.

because they're not 5% better; they're close to 20% better, and 50% better in the areas that are extremely difficult to get right (treble and bass). There are $500 headphones that match or exceed the Clears in some areas but not all. That's why you pay $1000 for them: no compromises.

I'm trying my best to combat him because I know how retarded casuals coming into threads take autistic schizos seriously. So I have a couple of handy images that prove him wrong in every conceviable way.

No, the 560s does not sound better than the Focal Clears. No, the Ollo S4X/R does not have a better response than the HD600. No, the Clear and the Clear MG are not the same headphone. Yes, you are an autistic cunt who should be lobotomized.

Senn BT stuff is pretty overpriced at MSRP
I got the 450 BTs for $90 on a sale, stock pads are garbage, a third party pad is borderline necessary
I got momentum 3's for half off refurbished
I'd day for those prices they're pretty damm good, but I wouldn't have payed full price.
Also both are bass heavy

It has to have detachable cable, and bluetooth would be highly appreciated but not entirely necessary

Don't care

Mixing music, I want to avoid buying studio monitors, they're 5 times more expensive.
I want something that I can just plug in to the 3.5mm jack on my computer and be decent enough to mix, although I know that's probably not the ideal way.
