Reposting >>85211987

Turns out they were delivered almost exactly a year ago from when they died. Currently still able to "use" them by turning the left balance down a whole 50%, but don't want to start paying a $40 yearly subscription to get MOONDROPPED every January. After looking at stuff I'm considering Hzsound Heart Mirror, original SIMGOT EN700, or Shuoer H27. That last one hasn't been mentioned in the /g/ archive apparently. Other things I've seen I might like (going off graphs alone) are the Tanchjim Hana or the ER3SE mod. I have the Tin T2 Pro and hate them since I can't tolerate its highs too long. Still looking for small, cheap, bright but not shouty IEM's if there are other recommendations.

> B-b-but this guy said this graph is the holy grail! Surely their opinion is 100% the only correct opinion!
Learn what you like first, find a graph for it and give it a broad overview. Then, realize everyone's taste is different. Once your done both of those steps, you can talk graphs without looking like a dipshit/LARPer.

Oh I can elaborate. I rather liked the sound, the imaging and timbre was the best of all IEMs I own (they were a tad bright for some of the busier/noiser tracks but are very easy to EQ). What compelled me to sell them however was the fit and comfort - too heavy, never secure, subpar noise isolation. I use my IEMs outdoors a lot and didn't need another pair for home use.

Bass guitar sounds louder than everything else by a good margin, meaning it would sound bassy even on something flat like ER2SE. Do understand that mixing is on the sound engineer and they have their own preferences on how the song should sound.
This is how a reasonable mix sounds like, percussion is not super forward

Some free bundled earphone you get with smartphones/pmp are actually good.

A popular example are the Samsung AKG that you get with their smartphone and the Sony MH755 that you get with Walkmans.

Personally, i've got a Sony MH1C that was bundled with an Xperia phone circa 2011. My first impression on it was WOW this actually sound good, but i dont really know how relatively good it was compared to other retail earphones because i never bought one. It's not until almost a decade later that i've finally found out on the web that this particular earphone was hyped out as keeper and i'm glad that im still using mine as backup earphone.

But ive never heard about those JBL earphone though...and Alcatel?? Aren't those an old dead phone brand? So in your case a sub $40, or even $20 is probably a safe bet. Current hype is CCA CRA for less than $20.

Both are good for different needs. I myself still prefer VK4 for everything. Bass are both good, CRA having fast bass and VK4 with heavy but controlled bass. Mids and vocals goes to VK4, very emotional and engaging. Treble CRA takes the cake but i didn't mind the lack of resolution on VK4. Tech CRA btfo VK4 but VK4 is just super well tuned that i didn't even care much about it.

Then I guess he knows more than my ENT. Tinnitus is most often caused by sustained loud sound. For example, if you are a landscaper who mows lawns every day and doesn't use ear protection. Often small motors like that will be big culprits. Or maybe you are in a band who plays loud music frequently or attends loud volume rock concerts.

Hell, even guys who drive around on Harley's and loud motorcyles like that are at a serious risk.

Read this image, it will give you a good idea of sound levels that will damage your hearing.

>>
>listen at 80db

>>
>>85234398
Because we had bad luck. I've always been very careful with volume. I've had a hearing test and my hearing is fine. But I have this high pitch sound in my left ear, similar to an old tube TV whine. It's not too loud and I can mostly ignore/forget about it. But at first it kind of drove me nuts - "My audiophile life is over!" I don't think like that now. My ENT doesn't think it was caused by headphones either. It just happens sometimes.

Does it cause tinnitus?

I already had The Tinnitus Starter Kit before I got them, so hard to say. (I got my Tinnitus from working in an industrial environment/around aircraft). I CAN say that they sound good enough that I don't care if they do.

Honest about already having Tinnitus (worked around helicopters for 4 years straight out of high school, no amount of earplugs or cranials will save you from getting it).
Joking about not caring about getting Tinnitus. They do sound amazing, but no set is worth blowing your hearing out. Take care of your ears and watch volume levels no matter what gear you use, kids!
