Intel's still the shittier company. AMD would have to commit genocide or something similar for me to even consider buying an Intel CPU instead

AMD can't ever compete. They had a lucky break for a few months and now it's gone. Where's my Alder Lake chads at?

This.
I would have to see Dr Su personally murder my entire family to even consider buying jewshit again - and even then, I'd probably still bring home (to an empty house) armfuls of Zens and Navis.
>>
>>85227400
AMD is a console and server company. They don't have the space to waste on general consumers so they don't care if you just buy intel instead.
>>
>>85227400
They have no reason to cut prices because the supply of intel motherboards is limited, so realistically intel poses no threat to amd atm.

litterally just supply and demand, so long as amd keeps selling processors there is no reason to cut prices.
>>
>>85227500
AMD would have to commit genocide for me to even consider buying their products. if AMD would genocide 1 billion in India right now I'd buy the latest the most overprices CPU they have and deal with BSOD's.

they don't have a choice. that's what happens when you pay out the ass for TSMC's best. not investing in GF and selling it off was their own damn choice.

Well at least AYYMD is more efficient. Hopefully that means their laptop chips will be less housefire than INTLEL, once they adopt the P core E core shit.
>>
>>85229596
tsmc's prices are reasonable, and the chiplets are small. they could lower prices, but they have no reason to.

glofo is litterally asss, They only way they would've been remotely relevant is if they hadn't abandoned ibm's 7nm HPC node.
>>
>>85227400
they're not better, they match the performance of equivalent skus
they're just significantly cheaper
12900K = 5950X
12700K = 5900X
12600K = 5800X
12400 = 5600X
>>
>>85229708
>tsmc's prices are reasonable
lol fuck no they aren't. take a look at where Qualcomm and Nvidia are getting their chips made recently after the recent TSMC price hikes
>>
>>85229497
I wont buy non-K CPU ever.
>>
>>85229769
depends on the product, the chiplets are really small, so even if the wafer increases in prices, the cost per chip isn't effect as much, since it is distributed across all of them, big are a being hurt alot more.

miners are litterally buying all of the gpus off the pallets so they never show up at retail. the price increases are done by retail, because of the limited supply.

When the non-K cpu requires buying a more expensive motherboard and cooler for 5% higher performance does it really make sense? Games don't even use the e-cores. This isn't the Sandy Bridge days. With all core boost you can't push the overclocks much further without thermals and power draw running away.
>>
Oh my god the demand keeps going up so they up their prices oh the horror of basic supply & demand
>>
Laugh at the chumps still buying ryzen 3600 when the 10400 i5 outperforms it.

>>
>>85227400
I'm not going to buy the most glowie approved CPUs out there. Kill yourself intel shill.
>>
>>85230004
Both companies are garbage owned by the same people.
You as a consumer can choose what's best for you.
If you enjoy wasting more money because of ideology, then congratulations on being a faithful customer.
>>
>>85230019
I enjoy "wasting money" because AMD's never been garbage enough to cripple Intel by writing a compiler that makes Intel CPUs artificially slower. Besides, I trust PSP more than IME
>>
here's what AMD pricing should've been
Athlon 2C $50
5100 4C $100
5300X 4C $150
5600X 6C $250
5700X 8C $350
5800X 8C $450
5900X 12C $550
5950X 16C $650
>>
>>85230048
AMD been garbage enough to lie about number of cores tho...
>>
>>85230878
No they haven't
>>
>>85227400
>tfw a solo 5700g was the best perf/dollar rig I could build last month
I mean, if you have a gpu and need a cpu, the 12400 is... okayish, it loses to 5600x in some productivity benchmarks. the 12600k is pretty affordable but if you dont have a cooler already then youre guaranteed to be spending much more than a ryzen build but with decidedly more st perf and mt performance on par with a 5800x or better.

Its really not black and white like the fanboys want you to believe
>>
>>85230844
The lack of low end AMD is what kills me about the current state of the CPU market. AMD’s boards are generally better value AND over clocking isn’t limited like intel’s K SKU’s.

You can build a pretty neat pocket rocket type system with low end AMD.

>AMD would have to commit genocide
For me it depends on the people they genocide, but anyway I buy AMD instead of intel.
Intel only cares about stock holders, not their customers. The 12 series had such a fake series of "leaks" from various benchmarks that were so ludicrously ahead of AMD only to end up neck to neck with 1 year old cpus from AMD when tested independently.
>>
The P+E architecture is a trap in the same way that dual gpu setups or APU+GPUs are traps. The second they stop being current they don't get optimized and you start asking why is my software running on the E core, and have to look up some Turko-russian youtube video about using cosmic radiation during a fullmoon to flip just the right bits to disable the e-cores without bricking your system. And then two years later the latest linux kernels can only use the e cores on P+E cpus and so on.

That's what APUs were like. and that's what P+E will be.
>>
>>85231874
There's nothing to optimize more when you've already implemented it in the scheduler.
For gpus it's different due to the difficulty of separating the workloads but then again the apu+gpu crossfire setups are still optimized as long as the respective discrete gpu+gpu setups are optimized, which applies for all single gpus too.
