Why doesn't /g/ like him anymore?

why?

When did we like him
>>
>>85225635
I like him. I think he's probably one of the rare people left actually trying to materially advance civilization and not just sit around collecting rent or politicking.

Hyperloop
Tesla
We used to like these before Reddit took them over like >>85225713 said.
His Vegas Loop has proven to work and is the first step in getting to a hyperloop.

Tesla is unironically more contrived that Apple.

he has his pros and cons. i mostly don't like him because he's a dipshit middle-aged memelord

Where is *your* affordable space travel company anon?

You're imagining things, the only people who hyped those things were either larpers or shills.

It seems you can not see any difference between liking billionaire who posts cringe on tw*tter and showing interest in stuff that his company produces. This is a mistake.

eat it up.

>>85225925
How is he a con artist?

>>85225944
Seethe. He's one of the few people doing cool shit for the sake of doing cool shit. Look at how all the other car companies had to catch up to Tesla because he pushed the market forward.
>>
>>85225944
Exactly. In reality elon musk is a retard who was born into a rich family & takes the credit from the hard work of engineers that work for him.

He's rich and famous therefore there cannot be anything good about him, and everything he does must be bad.
>>
Teslas are terrible cars whose only appeal is that they are expensive.
>>
he's a faggot tryhard, gonna laugh my ass off when his ship blows up. Fucking hate all the aerospace cucks that worship this nigger
>>
>>85225961
Teslas are cool but that only speaks of the achievement of his engineers. My point still stands he larps as a genius who dedicates his life to work and while he really spends time on twitter, doing celebrity podcasts referencing video games & anime and other pointless shit and his fan boys don't even notice the contradiction.

its pretty obvious why the person is hated on here. that being said i think he puts his money in some interesting stuff at least, but yeah many unlikeable traits
>>
>>85226321
not the guy but thats a title you can easily give yourself? he has said in the past that the stuff he does is selecting colors for Tesla models among some other unimportant shit. Even if he did he cannot have the time for it if you look at what hes doing otherwise. Pretty clear that he is in fact not the actual cheif engineer

Eh, they call it a traffic jam but the driver never stops and it's just some minor congestion at the exit?
I'm not defending the tunnel. I agree it looks unsafe and the lack of even side walks that could be used in the case of an emergency is pretty dumb, but this particular complaint of a traffic jam is quite a minor gripe.
>>
>>85225798
Hyperloop was never going to work as initially proposed with the vacuum tunnels, and the Vegas Loop is just a single lane tunnel for cars with gamer lights. What's there to like about that?

Tesla doesn't even make the best electric cars, andVegas Loop Elon didn't start the company, and has mostly operated it as a ponzi scheme.
>>
>>85225798
>a tunnel to drive in
>a hyperloop
are people this dumb?
hyperloop is mass transit
tunnels for cars are not

>His Vegas Loop has proven to work and is the first step in getting to a hyperloop.
In what way? Las Vegas loop isn't a vacuum tunnel.
>>
>>85225635
I don't care about celebrities of any kind.
>>
>>85225635
The only cool thing he's doing is btfo'ing 50 years of nasa in not even a decade
>>
>>85226710
>Hyperloop was never going to work as initially proposed with the vacuum tunnels
Why wouldn't it work? Also Hyperloop isn't vacuum tunnels. Its NEAR vacuum tunnels.
>>
>>85228208
because maintaining a vacuum that large is extremely costly. In theory it would be really vast but so are bullet trains which are already proven to work.
>it's not perfect it's near perfect
fuckign semantics who cares
>>
>>85228244
>because maintaining a vacuum that large is extremely costly
How is it costly? Have you broken down the cost?
>>
>>85228244
Its not semantics because the mechanics are different. In near vacuum, Hyperloop (as originally proposed) glides on thin strip of air. In vacuum, there's no air, so it doesn't work.
>>
>>85228262
is this a serious question? High speed trains in the us are already economically questionable aside from 3 locations and you want to put one in a vacuum?
>>
>>85225635
Because he's a stupid billionaire.

The only reason people liked him is because he could market himself as "relatable" well enough for R*ddit cucks to s*mp for him.

Everything that he's credited with doing is either not made by him, is a stupid useless vanity project, or both.
>>
>>85228320
So you haven't broken down the cost?
>>
>>85228345
have you?
>>
>>85228352
Elon did, and he's the one doing it so...

>>
>>85228397
You haven't convinced me of your "skepticism." If you had your way, you'd argue that Falcon 9 cost $2 billion dollar per launch because thats how its always been done.
